Adsorption and reduction of palladium (Pd^(2+)) by Bacillus licheniformis R08显示文摘Preliminary study on the mechanism of Pd2+ biosorption by resting cells of Bacillus licheniformis R08 biomass has been carried out by means of chemical kinetics and AAS, TEM, XRD and FTIR methods. The results showed that at 30°C and pH 3.5, when dry R08 biomass powder (800 mg/L) was mixed with Pd2+ (100 mg/L) for 45 min, the rate constant k of biosorption of Pd2+ attained a maximum of 5.97×10-2 min-1 and the half life period of the reaction reached 12 min. The part of Pd2+ adsorbed by R08 biomass was reduced to elemental, cell-bound Pd0 at the same condition. The cell wall of R08 biomass was the primary location for accumulating Pd2+, and aldoses, i. e. hy-drolysate of a part of polysaccharides on the peptidoglycan layer in the acidic medium, serving as the electron donor, in situ reduced the Pd2+ to Pd0. | LIN Zhongyu, ZHOU Chaohui, WU Jianming, CHENG Hu, LIU Bilan, Nl Zimian, ZHOU Jianzhang & FU JinkunState Key Laboratory for Physical Chemistry of Solid Surface, Department of Chemistry, Xiamen University, Xiamen 361005, China | 2002 | Chinese Science Bulletin2002,47,15: | 2
Kinectin 1 promotes the growth of triple-negative breast cancer via directly co-activating NF-kappaB/p65 and enhancing its transcriptional activity显示文摘Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)is the most challenging subtype of breast cancer.Various endeavor has been made to explore the molecular biology basis of TNBC.Herein,we reported a novel function of factor Kinectin 1(KTN1)as a carcinogenic promoter in TNBC.KTN1 expression in TNBC was increased compared with adjacent tissues or luminal or Her2 subtypes of breast cancer, and TNBC patients with high KTN1 expression have poor prognosis. In functional studies, knockdown of KTN1 inhibited the proliferation and invasiveness of TNBC both in vitro and in vivo, while overexpression of KTN1 promoted cancer cell proliferation and invasiveness.RNA-seq analysis revealed that the interaction of cytokine-cytokine receptor, particularly CXCL8 gene, was upregulated by KTN1,which was supported by the further experiments.CXCL8 depletion inhibited the tumorigenesis and progression of TNBC.Additionally, rescue experiments validated that KTN1-mediated cell growth acceleration in TNBC was dependent on CXCL8 both in vitro and in vivo.Furthermore,it was found that KTN1 enhanced the phosphorylation of NF-κB/p65 protein at Ser536 site, and specifically bound to NF-κB/p65 protein in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells. Moreover, the transcription of CXCL8 gene was directly upregulated by the complex of KTN1 and NF-κB/p65 protein.Taken together, our results elucidated a novel mechanism of KTN1 gene in TNBC tumorigenesis and progression.KTN1 may be a potential molecular target for the development of TNBC treatment. | Lin Gao Shanze Chen Malin Hong Wenbin Zhou Bilan Wang Junying Qiu Jinquan Xia Pan Zhao Li Fu Jigang Wang Yong Dai Ni Xie Qinhe Yang Hsien-Da Huang Xiang Gao Chang Zou | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,8: | 2
Non-viral vector mediated CKb11 with folic acid modification regulates macrophage polarization and DC maturation to elicit immune response against cancer显示文摘The immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment(TME)of cancer strongly hinders the anti-tumor immune responses, thereby resulting in disappointing responses to immunotherapy.Chemoattractive and promotive traits of chemokines exerted on leukocytes have garnered interest in improving the efficiency of immunotherapy by increasing the infiltration of immune cells in the TME.In this study,a folic acid(FA)-modified gene delivery system based on the self-assembly of DOTAP,MPEG-PCL-MPEG,and FA-PEG-PCL-PEG-FA,namely F-PPPD,was developed to deliver plasmids encoding the immunostimulating chemokine CKb11.The delivery of plasmid CKb11(pCKb11)by F-PPPD nanoparticles resulted in the high secretion of CKb11 from tumor cells, which successfully activated T cells, suppressed the M2 polarization of macrophages, promoted the maturation of dendritic cells(DCs),facilitated the infiltration of natural killer(NK)cells and inhibited the infiltration of immunosuppressive cells in tumor tissues.Administration of F-PPPD/pCKb11 also significantly suppressed the cancer progression. Our study demonstrated a nanotechnology-enabled delivery of pCKb11,that remodeled the immunosuppressive TME,for cancer treatment. | Wen Nie Ting Yu Xiaoxiao Liu Bilan Wang Tingting Li Yin Wu Xikun Zhou Lu Ma Yunfeng Lin Zhiyong Qian Xiang Gao | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,11: | 1
Heterointerface engineering of Ni/Ni_(3)N hierarchical nanoarrays for efficient alkaline hydrogen evolution显示文摘Ni-based transition metal nitrides(TMNs)have been regarded as promising substitutes for noble-metal electrocatalysts towards the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)due to their low cost, excellent chemical stability, high electronic conductivity, and unique electronic structure. However, facile green synthesis and rational microstructure design of Ni-based TMNs electrocatalysts with high HER activity remain challenging. In this work,we report the fabrication of Ni/Ni_(3)N heterostructure nanoarrays on carbon paper via a one-step magnetron sputtering method under low temperature and N2 atmosphere. The Ni/Ni_(3)N hierarchical nanoarrays exhibit an excellent HER catalytic activity with a low overpotential of 37 mV at 10 mA·cm^(−2)and robust long-term durability over 100 h.Furthermore, the Ni/Ni_(3)N||NiFeOH(NiFeOH=NiFe bimetallic hydroxide)electrolyzer requires a small voltage of 1.54 V to obtain 10 mA·cm^(−2)for water electrolysis.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that the heterointerface between Ni and Ni_(3)N could directly induce electron redistribution to optimize the electronic structure, which accelerates the dissociation of water molecules and the subsequent hydrogen desorption, and thus boosting the HER kinetics. | Zhengbing Qi Ye Zeng Zhuo Hou Weijie Zhu Binbin Wei Yong Yang Bilan Lin Hanfeng Liang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,4: | 0
Self-Healing Behavior of Phosphate Coating Post-Sealed with Molybdate显示文摘The phosphated zinc layer was post-sealed with molybdate to obtain the composite coating without pores. The composition of the formed coating was investigated. The corrosion behavior of the coated samples was studied. The coated samples were first scratched and subsequently corroded in a neutral salt spray( NSS) chamber for 2-72 h; the microstructure of the corrosion products was analyzed via SEM and EDS; and the self-healing performance was discussed. The coating obtained contains Zn_3( PO_4)_2· 4H_2 O,Mo_2O_3 and MoO_4^(2-). The electrochemical impedance first increases and then decreases with the immersion time. However, after immersion for 6 days,it remains at about 10 kΩ·cm^2,much higher than the value for the single-treated samples without corrosion. Micro structural observations show that the corrosion products in scratch increase in size and finally cover the whole scratch completely. The initial corrosion products have high P,Mo and O contents but almost no Cl,while in later stages the first three components decrease and Cl increases. The corrosion products form a compact mass of needle-like crystals, effectively inhibiting zinc corrosion. The composite coating exhibits good self-healing. | Bilan Lin Yuye Xu Jintang Lu | 2017 | Journal of Harbin Institute of Technology(New Series)2017,24,4: | 0
