| 1 | Anti-pancreatic antibody in Turkish patients with inflammatory bowel disease and first-degree relatives显示文摘AIM: To identify the role of anti-pancreatic antibody (PAB) in the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) among Turkish patients, and its frequency in firstdegree relatives.METHODS: PAB and anti-Saccharomyces cerevisiae (ASCA) were examined in serum samples of 214 subjects including patients with Crohn's disease (CD, n = 64), ulcerative colitis (UC, n = 63), first-degree relatives of patients with CD (n = 25), first-degree relatives of patients with UC (n = 28),and a control group with gastrointestinal symptoms other than (IBD) (n = 34) by indirect immunofluorescence Positivity of PAB and ASCA was compared in terms of Vienna classification, disease activity and medications used.RESULTS: In terms of PAB positivity, no difference was found between patients with CD (14.1%) and UC (7.9%) however, significant difference was observed between patients with CD and subjects in the control group (P < 0.05). No difference was found between patients with CD and their relatives in terms of ASCA positivity, whereas a significant difference was found between other groups (P < 0.001). Compared to ASCA, the sensitivity of the PAB was 19% (7/37), its specificity was 93% (25/27), positive predictive value was 77% (7/9) and negative predictive value was 45% (25/55). ASCA was found with significantly higher prevalence in patients with CD activity index > 150 (P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: PAB is valuable in the diagnosis of IBD rather than CD, but cannot be used alone for diagnostic purposes. | 10 | May headache be the first sign of mutation in the MTHFR gene?显示文摘BACKGROUND:Cerebral venous thrombosis(CVT) is a rare disease and it has different etiologies.Inherited or acquired prothrombotic state plays a key role in the development of CVT.METHODS:A 28-year-old man who presented to our emergency department with persistent headache and accompanied by complaints of nausea and vomiting over a week.Neurologic examination revealed bilateral papilledema.Brain computed tomography showed a hyperdense area on the posterior part of the occipital lobe.Brain magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic resonance venography revealed thrombosis of CVT.Homozygous mutations were found for methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase(MTHFR).MTHFR CG677 T gene mutation and blood tests showed elevated homocysteine levels on the etiological screening.There was no other etiology for CVT.RESULTS:Headache and other complaints were improved after treatment of heparin,warfarin,and vitamin B12.No recurrence of symptoms was observed upon outpatient follow-up.CONCLUSION:Since CVT is an important cause of headache,we recommend etiology screening for patients who present with CVT for MTHFR gene mutations and family counseling should be provided. | Suber Dikici Ayhan Saritas Fahri Halit Besir Gokhan Celbek Guven Arslan | 2013 | World Journal of Emergency Medicine2013，4，1： | 1 |

| 20 | On the Use of Nanofluids in Solar Energy Applications显示文摘Renewable energy technologies are in the centre of interest to narrow the gap between fossil fuels and clean energy systems.The dominant role of solar energy systems among the alternatives is beyond question owing to being associated with an infinite energy source,well-documented theory,simplicity,eco-friendly structure and notably higher energy and exergy efficiency range compared to other renewables.However,in solar energy systems,conventional working fluids with poor thermophysical properties are still utilised.In other words,further improvements are still available in the said systems by the use of unique nanoparticles with superior thermal,electrical,optical and mechanical properties.Within the scope of this research,the applications of nanofluids in various solar energy systems such as tracking and non-tracking solar collectors,photovoltaic/thermal systems,solar thermoelectric devices,solar stills,solar thermal energy storage systems,solar greenhouses and solar ponds are comprehensively analysed.Relevant comparisons and discussions are proposed for the potential impacts of various nanofluids on coefficient of performance(COP)and thermodynamic performance figures of solar energy systems such as energy and exergy efficiency,effectiveness and productivity.Some challenges of nanofluids are also addressed which need to be resolved in further works. | CUCE Erdem CUCE Pinar Mert GUCLU Tamer BESIR Ahmet Burhaneddin | 2020 | Journal of Thermal Science2020，29，3： | 1 |
