| 1 | Long term performance of warm mix asphalt versus hot mix asphalt显示文摘The fatigue behavior, indirect tensile strength (ITS) and resilient modulus test results for warm mix asphalt (WMA) as well as hot mix asphalt (HMA) at different ageing levels were evaluated. Laboratory-prepared samples were aged artificially in the oven to simulate short-term and long term ageing in accordance with AASHTO R30 and then compared with unaged specimens. Beam fatigue testing was performed using beam specimens at 25℃ based on AASHTO T321 standard. Fatigue life, bending stiffness and dissipated energy for both unaged and aged mixtures were calculated using four-point beam fatigue test results. Three-point bending tests were performed using semi-circular bend (SCB) specimens at -10℃ and the critical mode I stress intensity factor K I was then calculated using the peak load obtained from the load-displacement curve. | 4 | Synthesis of a PEBAX-1074/ZnO nanocomposite membrane with improved CO_2 separation performance显示文摘In this investigation, polymeric nanocomposite membranes(PNMs) were prepared via incorporating zinc oxide(ZnO) into poly(ether-block-amide)(PEBAX-1074) polymer matrix with different loadings. The neat membrane and nanocomposite membranes were prepared via solution casting and solution blending methods, respectively. The fabricated membranes were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM) to survey cross-sectional morphologies and thermal gravimetric analysis(TGA)to study thermal stability. Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) analyses were also employed to identify variations of the chemical bonds and crystal structure of the membranes, respectively. Permeation of pure gases, CO_2, CH_4 and N_2 through the prepared neat and nanocomposite membranes was studied at pressures of 3–18 bar and temperature of 25 °C. The obtained results showed that the fabricated nanocomposite membranes exhibit better separation performance compared to the neat PEBAX membrane in terms of both permeability and selectivity. As an example, at temperature of 25 °C and pressure of 3 bar, CO_2 permeability, ideal CO_2/CH_4 and CO_2/N_2 selectivity values for the neat PEBAX membrane are 110.67 Barrer, 11.09 and 50.08, respectively, while those values are 152.27 Barrer,13.52 and 62.15 for PEBAX/ZnO nanocomposite membrane containing 8 wt% ZnO. | Navid Azizi Toraj Mohammadi Reza Mosayebi Behbahani | 2017 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2017,26,3: | 5 |

| 6 | Investigation of wax precipitation in crude oil:Experimental and modeling显示文摘In this work,a series of experiments were carried to investigation of rheological behavior of crude oil using waxy crude oil sample in the absence/presence of flow improver such as ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer.The rheological data covered the temperature range of 5e30C.The results indicated that the performance of flow improver was dependent on its molecular weight.Addition of small quantities of flow improver,can improve viscosity and pour point of crude oil.Also,an Artificial Neural Network(ANN)model using Multi-Layer Perceptron(MLP)topology has been developed to account wax appearance temperature and the amount of precipitated wax and the model was verified using experimental data given in this work and reported in the literature.In order to compare the performance of the proposed model based on Artificial Neural Network,the wax precipitation experimental data at different temperatures were predicted using solid solution model and multi-solid phase model.The results showed that the developed model based on Artificial Neural Network can predict more accurately the wax precipitation experimental data in comparison to the previous models such as solid solution and multi-solid phase model with AADs less than 0.5%.Furthermore,the number of parameters required for the Artificial Neural Network(ANN)model is less than the studied thermodynamic models. | Taraneh Jafari Behbahani Ali Akbar Miran Beigi Zahra Taheri Bahram Ghanbari | 2015 | Petroleum2015,1,3: | 2 |

| 16 | Calibration and validation of a new time-based surrogate safety measure using fuzzy inference system显示文摘Surrogate safety measures(SSM) are suitable tools to detect dangerous situations. These indicators can be applied as a warning strategy in collision avoidance systems(CAS). Timeto-collision(TTC) and post-encroachment time(PET) are two important time-based SSM that identify the probability of a rear-end collision. TTC refers to the imminent danger, and PET implies the potential danger. However, sometimes the results from each indicator are inconsistent. An appropriate warning strategy for CAS can be developed using a new index that combines the properties of both TTC and PET. For this purpose, a new mixed index(MI) is proposed. In order to develop this MI, three main microscopic parameters, clearance,speed and the relative speed, are simultaneously applied to the leading vehicle. To calibrate MI, based on a fuzzy inference system(FIS), a value would be determined by a combination of TTC and PET at each instant and then by regression analysis the model parameters would be determined. Finally, MI, TTC and PET values for real car-following scenarios on the I-80 freeway are determined and compared.
