1Bounding of near-fault ground motion based on radiated seismic energy with a consideration of fault frictional mechanisms显示文摘The energy radiated as seismic waves strongly depends on the fault rupture process associated with rupture speed and dynamic frictional mechanisms involved in the fault slip motion.Following McGarr and Fletcher approach,we derived a physics-based relationship of the weighted average fault slip velocity vs apparent stress,rupture speed and static stress drop based on a dynamic circular fault model.The resultant function can be approximately used to bound near-fault ground motion and seismic energy associated with near-fault coseismic deformation.Fault frictional overshoot and undershoot mechanisms governed by a simple slip-weakening constitutive relation are included in our consideration by using dynamic rupture models named as M-and D-models and proposed by Madariaga(1976) and Boatwright.We applied the above function to the 2008 great Wenchuan earthquake and the 1999 Jiji(Chi-Chi) earthquake to infer the near-fault ground motion called slip weighted average particle velocity and obtained that such model-dependent prediction of weighted average ground velocities is consistent to the results derived from the near-fault strong motion observations.Moreover,we compared our results with the results by McGarr and Fletcher approach,and we found that the values of the weighted average particle velocities we obtained for these two earthquakes are generally smaller and closer to the values by direct integration of strong motion recordings of the near-fault particle velocity waveform data.In other words,if this result comes to be true,it would be a straightforward way used to constrain the near-fault ground motion or to estimate source parameters such as rupture speed,static and dynamic stress drops.Baoping Shi Boyan Liu Lingyuan Meng 2010Earthquake Science2010,23,4:2
2Genetic Analysis of Human Adenovirus Type 7 Strains Circulating in Different Parts of China显示文摘To investigate the molecular epidemiology and genetic variation of human adenovirus type 7(HAdV-7)in children with acute respiratory infections(ARI)in China.HAdV-7-positive respiratory samples collected from children with ARI in Beijing,Shijiazhuang,Wenzhou and Guangzhou from 2014–2018 were selected for gene amplification and sequence analysis.Fifty-seven HAdV-7 clinical strains with hexon,penton base and fiber gene sequences were obtained.Meanwhile17 strains were selected randomly from different cities for whole genome sequencing.Phylogenetic and variation analyses were performed based on the obtained sequences,HAdV-7 prototype strain Gomen(AY594255),vaccine strains(AY495969 and AY594256)and representative sequences of strains.The phylogenetic trees constructed based on whole genome sequences,major capsid protein genes(hexon,penton base and fiber)and the early genes(E1,E2,E3 and E4)were not completely consistent.The HAdV-7 strains obtained in this study always clustered with most of the circulating strains worldwide from the 1980 s to the present.Compared with the HAdV-7 prototype strain Gomen(AY594255),some amino acid mutations in loop1 and loop2 of hexon and the RGD loop region of the penton base gene were observed.Recombination analysis showed that partial regions of 55 k Da protein and 100 kDa hexon-assembly associated protein genes among all HAdV-7 strains in this study were from HAdV-16 and HAdV-3,respectively.Our study demonstrated the molecular evolution characteristics of HAdV-7 strains circulating in China and provided basic reference data for the prevention,control and vaccine development of HAdV-7.Yali Duan Changchong Li Li Deng Shuhua An Yun Zhu Wei Wang Meng Zhang Lili Xu Baoping Xu Xiangpeng Chen Zhengde Xie 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,3:2
3A multi-center study on Molecular Epidemiology of Human Respiratory Syncytial Virus from Children with Acute Lower Respiratory Tract Infections in the Mainland of China between 2015 and 2019显示文摘Human respiratory syncytial virus(RSV) is a major pathogen of acute lower respiratory tract infection among young children. To investigate the prevalence and genetic characteristics of RSV in China, we performed a molecular epidemiological study during 2015–2019. A total of 964 RSV-positive specimens were identified from 5529 enrolled patients during a multi-center study. RSV subgroup A(RSV-A) was the predominant subgroup during this research period except in2016. Totally, 535 sequences of the second hypervariable region(HVR-2) of the G gene were obtained. Combined with182 Chinese sequences from GenBank, phylogenetic trees showed that 521 RSV-A sequences fell in genotypes ON1(512),NA1(6) and GA5(3), respectively;while 196 RSV-B sequences fell in BA9(193) and SAB4(3). ON1 and BA9 were the only genotypes after December 2015. Genotypes ON1 and BA9 can be separated into 10 and 7 lineages, respectively. The HVR-2 of genotype ON1 had six amino acid changes with a frequency more than 10%, while two substitutions H258 Q and H266 L were co-occurrences. The HVR-2 of genotype BA9 had nine amino acid substitutions with a frequency more than10%, while the sequences with T290 I and T312 I were all from 2018 to 2019. One N-glycosylation site at 237 was identified among ON1 sequences, while two N-glycosylation sites(296 and 310) were identified in the 60-nucleotide duplication region of BA9. To conclusion, ON1 and BA9 were the predominant genotypes in China during 2015–2019. 5The urgent need to develop a new grassland map in China:based on the consistency and accuracy of ten land cover products显示文摘Grasslands are the most dominant terrestrial ecosystem in China, but few national grassland maps have been generated. The grassland resource map produced in the 1980s is widely used as background data, but it has not been updated for almost 40 years.Therefore, a reliable map depicting the current spatial distribution of grasslands across the country is urgently needed. In this study, we evaluated the grassland consistency and accuracy of ten land cover datasets(GLC2000, GlobCover, CCI-LC,MCD12Q1, CLUD, GlobeLand30, GLC-FCS30, CGLS-LC100, CLCD, and FROM-GLC) for 2000, 2010, and 2020 based on extensive fieldwork. We concluded that the area of these ten grassland products ranges from 107.80×10^(4)to 332.46×10^(4)km^(2), with CLCD and MCD12Q1 having the highest area consistency. The spatial and sample consistency is highest in the regions of eastcentral Inner Mongolia, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and northern Xinjiang, while the distribution of southern grasslands is scattered and differs considerably among the ten products. MCD12Q1 is significantly more accurate than the other nine products,with an overall accuracy(OA) reaching 77.51% and a kappa coefficient of 0.51;CLCD is slightly less accurate than MCD12Q1(OA=73.02%, kappa coefficient=0.45) and is more conducive to the fine monitoring and management of grassland because of its30-meter resolution. The highest accuracy of grassland was found in the Inner Mongolia-Ningxia region and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, while the accuracy was worst in the southeastern region. In the future grassland mapping, cartographers should improve the accuracy of the grassland distribution in South China and regions where grassland is confused with forest, cropland and bare land. 9Transient postseismic slip and aftershock triggering:A case study of the 2008 M_W7.9 Wenchuan Earthquake,China显示文摘In this study,we investigate how a stress variation generated by a fault that experiences transient postseismic slip(TPS)affects the rate of aftershocks.First,we show that the postseismic slip from Rubin-Ampuero model is a TPS that can occur on the main fault with a velocity-weakening frictional motion,that the resultant slip function is similar to the generalized Jeffreys-Lomnitz creep law,and that the TPS can be explained by a continuous creep process undergoing reloading.Second,we obtain an approximate solution based on the Helmstetter-Shaw seismicity model relating the rate of aftershocks to such TPS.For the Wenchuan sequence,we perform a numerical fitting of the cumulative number of aftershocks using the Modified Omori Law(MOL),the Dieterich model,and the specific TPS model.The fitting curves indicate that the data can be better explained by the TPS model with a B/A ratio of approximately 1.12,where A and B are the parameters in the rate-and state-dependent friction law respectively.Moreover,the p and c that appear in the MOL can be interpreted by the B/A and the critical slip distance,respectively.Because the B/A ratio in the current model is always larger than 1,the model could become a possible candidate to explain aftershock rate commonly decay as a power law with a p-value larger than 1.Finally,the influence of the background seismicity rate r on parameters is studied;the results show that except for the apparent aftershock duration,other parameters are insensitive to r.Mengyu Xie Baoping Shi Lingyuan Meng 2023Earthquake Science2023,36,6:0
