1Regulation of Brassinosteroid Biosynthesis and Inactivation显示文摘Brassinosteroids (BRs) are a group of naturally-occurring steroidal phytohormones playing fundamental roles during normal plant growth and development.Using a combination of experimental approaches,including analytical chemistry,genetics,and biochem-istry,the major BR biosynthetic pathway has been largely eluci-dated.The least-understood knowledge in the BR research field is probably the molecular mechanisms controlling the bioactive levels of BRs in response to various developmental and envi-ronmental cues.In this review,we focus our discussion on a recently-proposed,8-step predominant BR biosynthetic pathway,several newly-identified transcription factors regulating the expres-sion of key enzymes that catalyze BR biosynthesis,and up-to-date information about the mechanisms that plants use to inactivate unnecessary BRs.Baolin Zhao Jia Li 2012Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2012,54,10:24
2Somatic Embryogenesis Receptor Kinases Control Root Development Mainly via Brassinosteroid-Independent Actions in Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘Brassinosteroids(BRs),a group of plant steroidal hormones,play critical roles in many aspects of plant growth and development.Previous studies showed that BRI1-mediated BR signaling regulates cell division and differentiation during Arabidopsis root development via interplaying with auxin and other phytohormones.Arabidopsis somatic embryogenesis receptor-like kinases(SERKs),as co-receptors of BRI1,were found to play a fundamental role in an early activation step of BR signaling pathway.Here we report a novel function of SERKs in regulating Arabidopsis root development.Genetic analyses indicated that SERKs control root growth mainly via a BR-independent pathway.Although BR signaling pathway is completely disrupted in the serk1 bak1 bkk1 triple mutant,the root growth of the triple mutant is much severely damaged than the BR deficiency or signaling null mutants.More detailed analyses indicated that the triple mutant exhibited drastically reduced expression of a number of genes critical to polar auxin transport,cell cycle,endodermis development and root meristem differentiation,which were not observed in null BR biosynthesis mutant cpd and null BR signaling mutant bri1-701.Junbo Du Hongju Yin Shasha Zhang Zhuoyun Wei Baolin Zhao Jinghua Zhang Xiaoping Gou Honghui Lin Jia Li 2012Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2012,54,6:22

4Effect of alkalinity on nitrite accumulation in treatment of coal chemical industry wastewater using moving bed biofilm reactor显示文摘Nitrogen removal via nitrite(the nitrite pathway) is more suitable for carbon-limited industrial wastewater. Partial nitrification to nitrite is the primary step to achieve nitrogen removal via nitrite. The effect of alkalinity on nitrite accumulation in a continuous process was investigated by progressively increasing the alkalinity dosage ratio(amount of alkalinity to ammonia ratio, mol/mol). There is a close relationship among alkalinity, pH and the state of matter present in aqueous solution. When alkalinity was insufficient(compared to the theoretical alkalinity amount), ammonia removal efficiency increased first and then decreased at each alkalinity dosage ratio, with an abrupt removal efficiency peak. Generally, ammonia removal efficiency rose with increasing alkalinity dosage ratio. Ammonia removal efficiency reached to 88% from 23% when alkalinity addition was sufficient. Nitrite accumulation could be achieved by inhibiting nitrite oxidizing bacteria(NOB) by free ammonia(FA) in the early period and free nitrous acid in the later period of nitrification when alkalinity was not adequate. 5Advanced treatment of biologically pretreated coal gasification wastewater by a novel heterogeneous Fenton oxidation process显示文摘Sewage sludge from a biological wastewater treatment plant was converted into sewage sludge based activated carbon(SBAC) with Zn Cl2 as activation agent, which was used as a support for ferric oxides to form a catalyst(Fe Ox/SBAC) by a simple impregnation method.The new material was then used to improve the performance of Fenton oxidation of real biologically pretreated coal gasification wastewater(CGW). The results indicated that the prepared Fe Ox/SBAC significantly enhanced the pollutant removal performance in the Fenton process, so that the treated wastewater was more biodegradable and less toxic. The best performance was obtained over a wide p H range from 2 to 7, temperature 30°C, 15 mg/L of H2O2 and 1 g/L of catalyst, and the treated effluent concentrations of COD, total phenols,BOD5 and TOC all met the discharge limits in China. Meanwhile, on the basis of significant inhibition by a radical scavenger in the heterogeneous Fenton process as well as the evolution of FT-IR spectra of pollutant-saturated Fe Ox/BAC with and without H2O2, it was deduced that the catalytic activity was responsible for generating hydroxyl radicals, and a possible reaction pathway and interface mechanism were proposed. Moreover, Fe Ox/SBAC showed superior stability over five successive oxidation runs. 6Community structure of macrobenthos in coastal water off Rushan, southern Shandong Peninsula, and the relationships with environmental factors显示文摘To understand the present actuality of the marine ecosystem in the southern coastal water region of the Shandong Peninsula and the impact of the global change and the human activities to the marine ecosystem of the region, the macrobenthic community structure was researched based on data from 26 sampling stations carried out on four seasonal cruises from December 2006 to November 2007. The data was analyzed using PRIMER 6.0 and SPSS 15.0 software packages. The results showed that 236 macrobenthic species in total were collected from the research region by the field works. Most of the species belong to Polychaeta (76 species), Mollusca (75) and Crustacea (60). Of which, 33 species were common species by the four cruises. The dominant species were different among the four seasons, however, the polychaete species Nephtys oligobranchia and Sternaspis scutata were always dominant in the four seasons. The abundances and biomasses of the macrobenthos from the research region were variable in the four seasons. The results of CLUSTER and MDS analysis showed that the similarities of macrobenthic structures among the stations were low, most of the similarities were at about 40% of similarity values, only that of two stations were up to 60%. In accordance with the similarity values of the macrobenthic structures, the 26 stations were clustered as six groups at arbitrary similarity level of 30%. The ABC curve indicated that the marcofauna communities in the research region had not been disturbed distinctly. 7Synthetic biodegradable functional polymers for tissue engineering:a brief review显示文摘Scaffolds play a crucial role in tissue engineering. Biodegradable polymers with great processing flexibility are the predominant scaffolding materials. Synthetic biodegradable polymers with well-defined structure and without immunological concerns associated with naturally derived polymers are widely used in tissue engineering. The synthetic biodegradable polymers that are widely used in tissue engineering, including polyesters, polyanhydrides, polyphosphazenes, polyurethane, and poly(glycerol sebacate) are summarized in this article. New developments in conducting polymers, photoresponsive polymers, amino-acid-based polymers, enzymatically degradable polymers, and peptide-activated polymers are also discussed. 8Clinical analysis of intracranial germinoma's craniospinal irradiation using helical tomotherapy显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the short-term clinical outcomes of intracranial germinoma patients treated with craniospinal irradiation(CSI) using helical tomotherapy(HT) system in our center. Methods: Twenty-three patients who were treated with CSI in our center from January 2008 to July 2012 were collected, with an average age of 20. All of the patients' CSI used the HT system. The total doses were 27-36 Gy/15-20 F(1.5-2 Gy per fraction), and total local doses were 46-60 Gy/30-50 F(5 fractions per week). All female patients for CSI were treated with left-right parallel-opposed field irradiation to protect their ovarian functions. Median follow-up time was 30.9 months(range, 5-67 months). The SPSS19.0 software was used, and the overall survival(OS) was calculated using the Kaplan-Meier method.Results: Among 17 patients with assessable tumors, 9 cases(52.9%) were CR, 7 cases(41.2%) were PR, and 1 case(5.9%) was SD. Hematological toxicity was the severest side-effect occurred in the procedure of CSI. The level 1-4 acute leukopenia were 8.7%, 30.4%, 34.8% and 21.7% and the level 1-4 acute thrombopenia were 8.7%, 30.4%, 21.7% and 8.7%, respectively.Conclusions: For primary intracranial germinomas, HT can be used to implement CSI for simplifying radiotherapy procedures, improving radiotherapy accuracy, enhancing protection of peripheral organs at risk(ORA) and guaranteeing therapeutic effects. 9Crop 3D a LiDAR based platform for 3D high-throughput crop phenotyping显示文摘With the growing population and the reducing arable land, breeding has been considered as an effective way to solve the food crisis.As an important part in breeding, high-throughput phenotyping can accelerate the breeding process effectively. Light detection and ranging(LiDAR) is an active remote sensing technology that is capable of acquiring three-dimensional(3 D) data accurately,and has a great potential in crop phenotyping. Given that crop phenotyping based on LiDAR technology is not common in China,we developed a high-throughput crop phenotyping platform, named Crop 3 D, which integrated LiDAR sensor, high-resolution camera, thermal camera and hyperspectral imager. Compared with traditional crop phenotyping techniques, Crop 3 D can acquire multi-source phenotypic data in the whole crop growing period and extract plant height, plant width, leaf length, leaf width, leaf area, leaf inclination angle and other parameters for plant biology and genomics analysis. In this paper, we described the designs,functions and testing results of the Crop 3 D platform, and briefly discussed the potential applications and future development of the platform in phenotyping. 10PD-type iterative learning control for nonlinear time-delay system with external disturbance显示文摘The PD-type iterative learning control design of a class of affine nonlinear time-delay systems with external disturbances is considered. Sufficient conditions guaranteeing the convergence of the n-norm of the tracking error are derived. It is shown that the system outputs can be guaranteed to converge to desired trajectories in the absence of external disturbances and output measurement noises. And in the presence of state disturbances and measurement noises, the tracking error will be bounded uniformly. 14Extraction of scandium from red mud by acid leaching with CaF2 and solvent extraction with P507显示文摘The extraction of Sc by acid leaching with CaF2 and solvent extraction with P507 from red mud was proposed.The influence of acid leaching and solvent extraction on recovery of Sc was investigated.The CaF2 can obviously improve the leaching efficiency of Sc and reduce the acid consumption.The leaching efficiency of Sc increases from 74%to 92%and the dosage of acid reduces under suitable conditions by adding 5%CaF2.The minerals in red mud can easily be decomposed and leached into the acid solution with CaF2 through analysis of XRD pattern.The particles of red mud become smaller and multihole.The Sc can be selectively extracted with 10%P507 at the pH value of 0.1 from the acid leaching solution.More than 98%of Sc and less than 10%of Al and Fe are extracted.The SC2O3 with purity of 99%is obtained after the process of reverse extraction with NaOH,H2SO4 dissolution,precipitation by oxalic acid and roasting at 750℃.Xiaobo Zhu Wang Li Baolin Xing Yude Zhang 2020Journal of Rare Earths2020,38,9:11
15Adsorption of Cd(Ⅱ) from acidic aqueous solutions by tourmaline as a novel material显示文摘Batch experiments were conducted to investigate the behavior and mechanisms for the adsorption of Cd(Ⅱ) from aqueous solutions by tourmaline under acidic conditions. The results indicated that the adsorption of Cd(Ⅱ) significantly depend on the adsorption time, temperature, and the initial concentration of the metal ion. Furthermore, tourmaline had a very good adsorption capacity for Cd(Ⅱ) in acidic, neutral and alkaline aqueous solutions. This good adsorption capacity is attributed to the observation that tourmaline can automatically adjust the pH values of acidic (except pH 2.0 and 3.0), neutral or alkaline aqueous solutions to 6.4. Specifically, the removal capacity for Cd(Ⅱ) was higher at strongly acidic pH values (in contrast to industrial wastewater pH values) compared to that obtained for other types of adsorbents. Furthermore, the results obtained in this study showed good fits to the Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms. However, the Langmuir model fit better than the Freundlich model. The maximum uptake of Cd(Ⅱ) by tourmaline was 31.77, 33.11 and 40.16 mg/g at pH 4.0 at 15, 25 and 35°C, respectively. Therefore, tourmaline is an effective adsorbent for the removal of Cd(Ⅱ) from acidic aqueous solutions. In addition, the kinetics for the Cd(Ⅱ) adsorption by tourmaline closely followed the pseudo-second-order model. The thermodynamic parameters indicated that adsorption was feasible, spontaneous, and endothermic. Furthermore, the pH variation after adsorption, ζ-potential, metal ions desorbed and released, and FT-IR analysis indicated that the physisorption and chemisorption mechanisms of tourmaline for heavy metals. These mechanisms included water that was automatically polarized by tourmaline, the ion exchange process, and electropolar adsorption. 17Risk factors of CMV infection in patients after umbilical cord blood transplantation: a multicenter study in China显示文摘Objective:This retrospective study examined risk factors for cytomegalovirus(CMV)infection after umbilical cord blood transplantation(UCBT)and the impact of CMV infection on patient survival.Methods:In all 176 patients,plasma CMV DNA was negative prior to the transplantation,and examined twice a week for 100 d,and then once weekly for additional 300 d.Preemptive antiviral therapy(ganciclovir or foscarnet)was started in patients with>1,000/mL copies of CMV DNA but no full-blown CMV disease,and was discontinued upon two consecutive negative reports of blood CMV DNA test.The survival and risk factors for CMV infection or disease were examined using logistic regression.Results:CMV infection developed in 71%(125/176)of the patients,with a median onset of 32 d.Four patients(2.3%)developed CMV disease.Neither the 5-year overall survival(OS)nor event-free survival(EFS)differed significantly in infected patients vs.those with no infection(59.4%vs.64.8%,P=0.194;53.4%vs.59.1%,P=0.226).A stepwise multivariate analysis indicated an association of CMV infection with age,high-dose glucocorticoids,the number of transplanted CD34+cells,and the number of platelet transfusion,but not with gender,the conditioning regimen,and the day of neutrophil recovery and chronic graft-versushost disease(cGVHD).Conclusions:CMV infection is very common after UCBT,but does not seem to affect long-term survival with preemptive antiviral treatment.Juan Tong Zimin Sun Huilan Liu Liangquan Geng Changcheng Zheng Baolin Tang Kaidi Song Wen Yao Xin Liu 2013Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2013,25,6:8

20Functionalized scaffolds to enhance tissue regeneration显示文摘Tissue engineering scaffolds play a vital role in regenerative medicine.It not only provides a temporary 3-dimensional support during tissue repair,but also regulates the cell behavior,such as cell adhesion,proliferation and differentiation.In this review,we summarize the development and trends of functional scaffolding biomaterials including electrically conducting hydrogels and nanocomposites of hydroxyapatite(HA)and bioactive glasses(BGs)with various biodegradable polymers.Furthermore,the progress on the fabrication of biomimetic nanofibrous scaffolds from conducting polymers and composites of HA and BG via electrospinning,deposition and thermally induced phase separation is discussed.Moreover,bioactive molecules and surface properties of scaffolds are very important during tissue repair.Bioactive molecule-releasing scaffolds and antimicrobial surface coatings for biomedical implants and scaffolds are also reviewed.Baolin Guo Bo Lei Peng Li Peter X.Ma 2015Regenerative Biomaterials2015,2,1:8
