New chaotic system and its hyperchaos generation显示文摘To seek for lower-dimensional chaotic systems that have complex topological attractor structure with simple algebraic system structure, a new chaotic system of three-dimensional autonomous ordinary differential equations is presented. The new system has simple algebraic structure, and can display a 2-scroll attractor with complex topological structure, which is different from the Lorenz's, Chen's and Lu¨'s attractors. By introducing a linear state feedback controller, the system can be controlled to generate a hyperchaotic attractor. The novel chaotic attractor, hyperchaotic attractor and dynamical behaviors of corresponding systems are further investigated by employing Lyapunov exponent spectrum, bifurcation diagram, Poincar′e mapping and phase portrait, etc., and then verified by simulating an experimental circuit.Bao Bocheng Liu Zhong Xu Jianping 2009Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2009,20,6:34
Dynamics analysis of chaotic circuit with two memristors显示文摘Based on Chua’s chaotic oscillation circuit, a fifth-order chaotic circuit with two memristors is designed and its corresponding dimensionless mathematic model is established. By using conventional dynamical analysis methods, stability analysis of the equilibrium set of the circuit is performed, the distribution of stable and unstable regions corresponding to the memristor initial states is achieved, and the complex dynamical behaviors of the circuit depending on the circuit parameters and the memristor initial states are investigated. The theoretical analysis and numerical simulation results demonstrate that the proposed chaotic circuit with two memristors has an equilibrium set located on the plane constituted by the inner state variables of two memristors. The stability of the equilibrium set depends on both the circuit parameters and the initial states of the two memristors. Rich nonlinear dynamical phenomena, such as state transitions, transient hyperchaos and so on, are expected.BAO BoCheng SHI GuoDong XU JianPing LIU Zhong PAN SaiHu 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,8:13
Bifurcation analyses and hardware experiments for bursting dynamics in non-autonomous memristive FitzHugh-Nagumo circuit显示文摘In this paper,a non-autonomous memristive Fitz Hugh-Nagumo(FHN)circuit is constructed using a second-order memristive diode bridge with LC network. For convenience of circuit implementation,an AC voltage source is adopted to substitute the original AC current stimulus.Stimulated by the slowly varying AC voltage source, the number, locations and stabilities of the equilibrium points slowly evolve with the time, which are thus indicated as the AC equilibrium points.Different sequences of fold and/or Hopf bifurcations are encountered in a full period of time series evolutions, leading to various kinds of chaotic or periodic bursting activities. To figure out the related bifurcation mechanisms, the fold and Hopf bifurcation sets are mathematically formulated to locate the critical bifurcation points. On this basis, the transitions between the resting and repetitive spiking states are clearly illustrated by the time series of the AC equilibrium points and state variables, from which Hopf/sub Hopf,Hopf/Hopf,and Hopf/fold bursting oscillations are identified in the specified parameter regions. Finally, based on a fabricated hardware circuit, the experimental measurements are executed. The results verify that the presented memristive FHN circuit indeed exhibits complex bursting activities, which enriches the family of memristor-based FHN circuits with bursting dynamics.CHEN Mo QI JianWei WU HuaGan XU Quan BAO BoCheng 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,6:9
Memristor initial-boosted coexisting plane bifurcations and its extreme multi-stability reconstitution in two-memristor-based dynamical system显示文摘Initial-dependent extreme multi-stability and offset-boosted coexisting attractors have been significantly concerned recently. This paper constructs a novel five-dimensional(5-D)two-memristor-based dynamical system by introducing two memristors with cosine memductance into a three-dimensional(3-D)linear autonomous dissipative system.Through theoretical analyses and numerical plots, the memristor initial-boosted coexisting plane bifurcations are found and the memristor initial-dependent extreme multi-stability is revealed in such a two-memristor-based dynamical system with plane equilibrium.Furthermore,a dimensionality reduction model with the determined equilibrium is established via an integral transformation method, upon which the memristor initial-dependent extreme multi-stability is reconstituted theoretically and expounded numerically. Finally, physically circuit-implemented PSIM(power simulation)simulations are carried out to validate the plane offset-boosted coexisting behaviors.BAO Han CHEN Mo WU HuaGan BAO BoCheng 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,4:8
MULTI-SCROLL HYPERCHAOTIC SYSTEM BASED ON COLPITTS MODEL AND ITS CIRCUIT IMPLEMENTATION显示文摘Based on the framework of Colpitts oscillator, a four-dimensional multi-scroll hyperchaotic system is proposed, which generates (2M+1)×(2N+1)-scroll chaotic and hyperchaotic attractors. The key strategy is to increase the number of index-2 equilibrium points by introducing two unit saw-tooth functions to extend and modify the Colpitts oscillator model. By using bifurcation diagram and phase portrait, the dynamical characteristics of the multi-scroll hyperchaotic system are briefly studied. Moreover, micro-controller based circuit realization is introduced and the experimental results dem-onstrate that 7×5-scroll chaotic and hyperchaotic attractors can be obtained in the digital circuit.Bao Bocheng Xu Qiang Xu Jianping 2010Journal of Electronics(China)2010,27,4:4
Memristive neuron model with an adapting synapse and its hardware experiments显示文摘Electromagnetic induction effect caused by neuron potential can be mimicked using memristor. This paper considers a fluxcontrolled memristor to imitate the electromagnetic induction effect of adapting feedback synapse and presents a memristive neuron model with the adapting synapse. The memristive neuron model is three-dimensional and non-autonomous.It has the time-varying equilibria with multiple stabilities, which results in the global coexistence of multiple firing patterns.Multiple numerical plots are executed to uncover diverse coexisting firing patterns in the memristive neuron model.Particularly,a nonlinear fitting scheme is raised and a fitting activation function circuit is employed to implement the memristive mono-neuron model.Diverse coexisting firing patterns are observed from the hardware experiment circuit and the measured results verify the numerical simulations well.BAO BoCheng ZHU YongXin MA Jun BAO Han WU HuaGan CHEN Mo 2021Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,5:2
Discrete memristive neuron model and its interspike interval-encoded application in image encryption显示文摘Bursting is a diverse and common phenomenon in neuronal activation patterns and it indicates that fast action voltage spiking periods are followed by resting periods. The interspike interval(ISI)is the time between successive action voltage spikes of neuron and it is a key indicator used to characterize the bursting.Recently,a three-dimensional memristive Hindmarsh-Rose(mHR)neuron model was constructed to generate hidden chaotic bursting. However, the properties of the discrete mHR neuron model have not been investigated, yet. In this article,we first construct a discrete mHR neuron model and then acquire different hidden chaotic bursting sequences under four typical sets of parameters. To make these sequences more suitable for the application,we further encode these hidden chaotic sequences using their ISIs and the performance comparative results show that the ISI-encoded chaotic sequences have much more complex chaos properties than the original sequences. In addition,we apply these ISI-encoded chaotic sequences to the application of image encryption. The image encryption scheme has a symmetric key structure and contains plain-text permutation and bidirectional diffusion processes.Experimental results and security analyses prove that it has excellent robustness against various possible attacks.BAO Han HUA ZhongYun LIU WenBo BAO BoCheng 2021Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,10:2

Initial-condition-switched boosting extreme multistability and mechanism analysis in a memcapacitive oscillator显示文摘Extreme multistability has seized scientists’ attention due to its rich diversity of dynamical behaviors and great flexibility in engineering applications. In this paper, a four-dimensional(4D) memcapacitive oscillator is built using four linear circuit elements and one nonlinear charge-controlled memcapacitor with a cosine inverse memcapacitance. The 4D memcapacitive oscillator possesses a line equilibrium set, and its stability periodically evolves with the initial condition of the memcapacitor. The 4D memcapacitive oscillator exhibits initial-condition-switched boosting extreme multistability due to the periodically evolving stability. Complex dynamical behaviors of period doubling/halving bifurcations, chaos crisis, and initial-condition-switched coexisting attractors are revealed by bifurcation diagrams, Lyapunov exponents, and phase portraits. Thereafter, a reconstructed system is derived via integral transformation to reveal the forming mechanism of the initial-condition-switched boosting extreme multistability in the memcapacitive oscillator. Finally, an implementation circuit is designed for the reconstructed system, and Power SIMulation(PSIM) simulations are executed to confirm the validity of the numerical analysis.Bei CHEN Quan XU Mo CHEN Huagan WU Bocheng BAO 2021Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering2021,22,11:0
Memristive cyclic three-neuron-based neural network with chaos and global coexisting attractors显示文摘It has been documented that a cyclic three-neuron-based neural network with resistive synaptic weights cannot exhibit chaos.Towards this end,a memristive cyclic three-neuron-based neural network is presented using a memristive weight to substitute a resistive weight. The memristive cyclic neural network always has five equilibrium points within the parameters of interest, and their stability analysis shows that they are one index-2 saddle-focus,two index-1 saddle-foci,and two stable node-foci,respectively.Dynamical analyses are performed for the memristive cyclic neural network by several numerical simulation methods. The results demonstrate that the memristor synapse-based neural network with the simplest cyclic connection can not only exhibit chaos, but also present global coexisting attractors composed of stable points and unstable periodic or chaotic orbits under different initial conditions.Besides, with the designed implementation circuit,Multisim circuit simulations and hardware experiments are executed to validate the numerical simulations.BAO Han CHEN ZhuGuan CAI JianMing XU Quan BAO BoCheng 2022Science China(Technological Sciences)2022,65,11:0
Stability Control and Mode Shift of Ramp Compensation in V^2 Controlled Buck Converter显示文摘V2 controlled buck converter with ramp compensation is studied, its two border voltages are derived and one-dimensional discrete-time model is established, upon which the dynamical effect of V2 control technique on stability control and mode shift of V2 controlled buck converter with ramp compensation is studied by using the bifurcation diagram, Lyapunov exponent spectrum, and parameter space map. The research results verified by simulation and experimental measurements indicate that by utilizing ramp compensation, V2 controlled buck converter can not only shift its operation mode from discontinuous conduction mode to continuous conduction mode, but also effectively stabilize its operation state from unstable subharmonic oscillation to stable periodic state.HE Shengzhong XU Jianping ZHOU Guohua BAO Bocheng YAN Tiesheng 2015Chinese Journal of Electronics2015,24,2:0
Memristive effects on an improved discrete Rulkov neuron model显示文摘A change in neuronal-action potential can generate a magnetically induced current during the release and propagation of intracellular ions.To better characterize the electromagnetic-induction effect, this paper presents an improved discrete Rulkov(ID-Rulkov)neuron model by coupling a discrete model of a memristor with sine memductance into a discrete Rulkov neuron model. The ID-Rulkov neuron model possesses infinite invariant points, and its memristor-induced stability effect is evaluated by detecting the routes of period-doubling and Neimark-Sacker bifurcations. We investigated the memristor-induced dynamic effects on the neuron model using bifurcation plots and firing patterns.Meanwhile,we theoretically expounded the memristor initial-boosting mechanism of infinite coexisting patterns. The results show that the ID-Rulkov neuron model can realize diverse neuron firing patterns and produce hyperchaotic attractors that are nondestructively boosted by the initial value of the memristor, indicating that the introduced memristor greatly benefits the original neuron model. The hyperchaotic attractors initially boosted by the memristor were verified by hardware experiments based on a hardware platform. In addition, pseudorandom number generators are designed using the ID-Rulkov neuron model, and their high randomness is demonstrated based onstrict test results.BAO Han LI KeXin MA Jun HUA ZhongYun XU Quan BAO BoCheng 2023Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,11:0
