2Studies of Chemical Constituents and Their Antioxidant Activities From Astragalus mongholicus Bunge显示文摘Objective To evaluate the antioxidant activities of different chemical constituents from Astragalus mongholicus Bunge and their protection against xanthine (XA)/xanthine oxidase (XO)-induced toxicity in PC12 cells. Methods The compounds of Astragalus mongholicus Bunge were isolated by chromatography and the structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral data interpretation. Their antioxidant activities were detected by 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activities in a cell-free system. Meanwhile, the effects against XA/XO-induced toxicity were assessed using MTT assay in PC12 cells. Results Ten principal constituents were isolated and identified as formononetin (I), ononin (II), calycosin (III), calycosin-7-O-β-D-glucoside (IV), 9,10-dimethoxypterocarpan-3-O-β-D-glucoside (V), adenosine (VI), pinitol (VII), daucosterol (VIII), β-sitoster (IX) and saccharose (X) from Astragalus mongholicus Bunge. The compounds I, III, and IV scavenged DPPH free radicals in vitro. Formononetin and calycosin were found to inhibit XA/XO-induced cell injury significantly, with an estimated EC50 of 50 ng/mL. Conclusion Compound Ⅱ, Ⅵ, and Ⅶ are first reported in this plant. 3A novel strong tracking cubature Kalman filter and its application in maneuvering target tracking显示文摘The fading factor exerts a significant role in the strong tracking idea. However, traditional fading factor introduction method hinders the accuracy and robustness advantages of current strong-tracking-based nonlinear filtering algorithms such as Cubature Kalman Filter(CKF) since traditional fading factor introduction method only considers the first-order Taylor expansion. To this end, a new fading factor idea is suggested and introduced into the strong tracking CKF method.The new fading factor introduction method expanded the number of fading factors from one to two with reselected introduction positions. The relationship between the two fading factors as well as the general calculation method can be derived based on Taylor expansion. Obvious superiority of the newly suggested fading factor introduction method is demonstrated according to different nonlinearity of the measurement function. Equivalent calculation method can also be established while applied to CKF. Theoretical analysis shows that the strong tracking CKF can extract the thirdorder term information from the residual and thus realize second-order accuracy. After optimizing the strong tracking algorithm process, a Fast Strong Tracking CKF(FSTCKF) is finally established. 5ZmMs30 Encoding a Novel GDSL Lipase Is Essential for Male Fertility and Valuable for Hybrid Breeding in Maize显示文摘Genic male sterility (GMS) is very useful for hybrid vigor utilization and hybrid seed production. Although a large number of GMS genes have been identified in plants, little is known about the roles of GDSL lipase members in anther and pollen development. Here, we report a maize GMS gene, ZmMs30, which encodes a novel type of GDSL lipase with diverged catalytic residues. Enzyme kinetics and activity assays show that ZmMs30 has lipase activity and prefers to substrates with a short carbon chain. ZmMs30 is specifically expressed in maize anthers during stages 7-9. Loss of ZmMs30 function resulted in defective anther cuticle, irregular foot layer of pollen exine, and complete male sterility. Cytological and lipidomics analyses demonstrate that ZmMs30 is crucial for the aliphatic metabolic pathway required for pollen exine formation and anther cuticle development. Furthermore, we found that male sterility caused by loss of ZmMs30 function was stable in various inbred lines with different genetic background, and that it didn't show any negative effect on maize heterosis and production, suggesting that ZmMs30 is valuable for crossbreeding and hybrid seed production. We then developed a new multi-control sterility system using ZmMs30 and its mutant line, and demonstrated it is feasible for generating desirable GMS lines and valu. able for hybrid maize seed production. 6Protection of PC12 Cells against Superoxide-induced Damage by Isoflavonoids from Astragalus mongholicus显示文摘Objective To further investigate the neuroprotective effects of five isoflavonoids from Astragalus mongholicus on xanthine (XA)/xanthine oxidase(XO)-induced injury to PC12 cells.Methods PC12 cells were damaged bv XA/XO.The activities of antioxidant enzymes,MTT,LDH,and GSH assays were used to evaluate the protection of these five isoflavonoids Contents of Bcl-2 family proteins were determined with flow cytometry.Results Among the five isoflavonoids including formononetin,ononin,9,10-dimethoxypterocarpan-3-O-β-D-glucoside,calycosin and calycosin-7-O-glucoside,calycosin and calycosin-7-O-glucoside were found to inhibit XA/XO-induced injury to PC12 cells.Their EC(50) values of formononetin and calycosin were 0.05μg/mL.Moreovet,treatment with these three isoflavonoids prevented a decrease in the activities of antioxidant enzymes,superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),while formononetin and calycosin could prevent a significant deletion of GSH.In addition.only calycosin and calycosin-7-O-glucoside were shown to inhibit XO activity in cell-free system,with an approximate IC_(50) value of 10μg/mL and 50μg/mL.Formononetin and calycosin had no significant influence on Bcl-2 or Bax protein contents.Conclusion Neuroprotection of formononetin,calycosin and calycosin-7-O-glucoside may be mediated by increasing endogenous antioxidants,rather by inhibiting XO activities or by scavenging free radicals.DE-HONG YU YONG-MING BAO LI-JIA AN MING YANG 2009Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2009,22,1:13
7Target classification with low-resolution radar based on dispersion situations of eigenvalue spectra显示文摘Most low-resolution radar systems, especially ground surveillance radar systems, work at relatively low pulse repeat frequency (PRF) and with short time-on-target (TOT) (duration in scanning). Low PRF leads to Doppler ambiguity and short TOT results in low Doppler resolution, which poses a problem to target classification with low-resolution radar based on the jet engine modulation (JEM) characteristic of radar echo. From the pattern classification viewpoint, we propose a method of using dispersion situations of JEM eigenvalue spectra to categorize aeroplanes into three kinds, namely turbojet aircraft, prop aircraft and helicopter. We analyze the mathematical model of JEM echoes consisting of a series of line spectra and regard them as a sum of several series of harmonious waves. Classification features can be extracted based on the harmonious wave sum model. Some schemes for extracting features from echoes within or between pulses are proposed. Low-dimensional features are extracted to reduce computation burden. Our methods do not compensate for the fuselage echoes and are insensitive to the variation of fuselage Doppler. 8A cytotoxic compound from the leaves of Juglans mandshurica显示文摘From Juglans mandshurica leaves, a new quinone compound was isolated through bioassay-guided fractionation. The structure elucidation of the compound was established based on spectroscopic studies, notably of the 2D NMR spectra. 9Total mesopancreas excision for pancreatic head cancer: analysis of 120 cases显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the feasibility and safety of total mesopancreas excision(TMpE) in the treatment of pancreatic head cancer. Methods: The clinical and pathological data of 120 patients with pancreatic head cancer who had undergone TMpE in our center from May 2010 to January 2014 were retrospectively analyzed. Results: The mean operative time was(275.0±50.2) min and the average intra-operative blood loss was(390.0±160.5) mL. Post-operative complications were reported in 45 patients, while no peri-operative death was noted. The specimen margins were measured in three dimensions, and 86 patients(71.6%) achieved R0 resection. 11Time-frequency characteristics based motion estimation and imaging for high speed spinning targets via narrowband waveforms显示文摘This paper focuses on the motion parameters estimation and inversed synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging for the high-speed spinning targets via the time-frequency characteristics. Assuming that the translational motion is compensated with the available motion compensation techniques, then the residual part of translational motion and the spinning motion are estimated with high precision based on the timefrequency characteristics. Combining with the procedure of the motion estimation, a novel coherent timefrequency spectrum intensity redistribution method, coherent single range Doppler interferometry (CSRDI), is proposed, which provides higher resolution and sustain lower signal to noise rate (SNR) than the current approach. 13Micro/nano-structured TiO2 surface with dual-functional antibacterial effects for biomedical applications显示文摘Implant-associated infections are generally difficult to cure owing to the bacterial antibiotic resistance which is attributed to the widespread usage of antibiotics.Given the global threat and increasing influence of antibiotic resistance,there is an urgent demand to explore novel antibacterial strategies other than using antibiotics.Recently,using a certain surface topography to provide a more persistent antibacterial solution attracts more and more attention.However,the clinical application of biomimetic nano-pillar array is not satisfactory,mainly because its antibacterial ability against Gram-positive strain is not good enough.Thus,the pillar array should be equipped with other antibacterial agents to fulfill the bacteriostatic and bactericidal requirements of clinical application.Here,we designed a novel model substrate which was a combination of periodic micro/nano-pillar array and TiO2 for basically understanding the topographical bacteriostatic effects of periodic micro/nano-pillar array and the photocatalytic bactericidal activity of TiO2.Such innovation may potentially exert the synergistic effects by integrating the persistent topographical antibacterial activity and the non-invasive X-ray induced photocatalytic antibacterial property of TiO2 to combat against antibiotic-resistant implant-associated infections.First,to separately verify the topographical antibacterial activity of TiO2 periodic micro/nano-pillar array,we systematically investigated its effects on bacterial adhesion,growth,proliferation,and viability in the dark without involving the photocatalysis of TiO2.The pillar array with sub-micron motif size can significantly inhibit the adhesion,growth,and proliferation of Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus)and Escherichia coli(E.coli).Such antibacterial ability is mainly attributed to a spatial confinement size-effect and limited contact area availability generated by the special topography of pillar array.Moreover,the pillar array is not lethal to S.aureus and E.coli in 24 h.Then,the X-ray induced photocatalytic antibacterial property of TiO2 periodic micro/nano-pillar array in vitro and in vivo will be systematically studied in a future work.This study could shed light on the direction of surface topography design for future medical implants to combat against antibiotic-resistant implant-associated infections without using antibiotics.Xiang Ge Chengzu Ren Yonghui Ding Guang Chen Xiong Lu Kefeng Wang Fuzeng Ren Meng Yang Zhuochen Wang Junlan Li Xinxin An Bao Qian Yang Leng 2019Bioactive Materials2019,4,1:8
14FAST RECURSIVE LEAST SQUARES LEARNING ALGORITHM FOR PRINCIPAL COMPONENT ANALYSIS显示文摘Based on the least-square minimization a computationally efficient learning algorithm for the Principal Component Analysis(PCA) is derived. The dual learning rate parameters are adaptively introduced to make the proposed algorithm providing the capability of the fast convergence and high accuracy for extracting all the principal components. It is shown that all the information needed for PCA can be completely represented by the unnormalized weight vector which is updated based only on the corresponding neuron input-output product. The convergence performance of the proposed algorithm is briefly analyzed.The relation between Oja’s rule and the least squares learning rule is also established. 15Inhibition of growth and metastasis of triple-negative breast cancer targeted by Traditional Chinese Medicine Tubeimu in orthotopic mice models显示文摘Objective: Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC) is highly invasive and metastatic, which is in urgent need of transformative therapeutics. Tubeimu(TBM), the rhizome of Bolbostemma paniculatum(Maxim.) Franquet, is one of the Chinese medicinal herbs used for breast diseases since the ancient times. The present study evaluated the efficacy, especially the anti-metastatic effects of the dichloromethane extract of Tubeimu(ETBM) on TNBC orthotopic mouse models and cell lines.Methods: We applied real-time imaging on florescent orthotopic TNBC mice model and tested cell migration and invasion abilities with MDA-MB-231 cell line. Digital gene expression sequencing was performed and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) analysis applied to explore the pathways influenced by ETBM.Moreover, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reactions(q RT-PCR) and Western blot were delivered to confirm the gene expression changes.Results: ETBM exhibited noticeable control on tumor metastasis and growth of TNBC tumors with no obvious toxicity. In compliance with this, it also showed inhibition of cell migration and invasion in vitro. 16A fundamental theorem for eco-environmental surface modelling and its applications显示文摘We propose a fundamental theorem for eco-environmental surface modelling(FTEEM) in order to apply it into the fields of ecology and environmental science more easily after the fundamental theorem for Earth’s surface system modeling(FTESM). The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH) region is taken as a case area to conduct empirical studies of algorithms for spatial upscaling, spatial downscaling, spatial interpolation, data fusion and model-data assimilation, which are based on high accuracy surface modelling(HASM), corresponding with corollaries of FTEEM. The case studies demonstrate how eco-environmental surface modelling is substantially improved when both extrinsic and intrinsic information are used along with an appropriate method of HASM. Compared with classic algorithms, the HASM-based algorithm for spatial upscaling reduced the root-meansquare error of the BTH elevation surface by 9 m. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial downscaling reduced the relative error of future scenarios of annual mean temperature by 16%. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial interpolation reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean precipitation by 0.2%. The HASM-based algorithm for data fusion reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean temperature by 70%. The HASM-based algorithm for model-data assimilation reduced the relative error of carbon stocks by 40%. 17Low-cost adaptive square-root cubature Kalman filter forsystems with process model uncertainty显示文摘A novel low-cost adaptive square-root cubature Kalman filter(LCASCKF) is proposed to enhance the robustness of process models while only increasing the computational load slightly.It is well-known that the Kalman filter cannot handle uncertainties in a process model, such as initial state estimation errors, parameter mismatch and abrupt state changes. These uncertainties severely affect filter performance and may even provoke divergence. A strong tracking filter(STF), which utilizes a suboptimal fading factor, is an adaptive approach that is commonly adopted to solve this problem. However, if the strong tracking SCKF(STSCKF)uses the same method as the extended Kalman filter(EKF) to introduce the suboptimal fading factor, it greatly increases the computational load. To avoid this problem, a low-cost introductory method is proposed and a hypothesis testing theory is applied to detect uncertainties. The computational load analysis is performed by counting the total number of floating-point operations and it is found that the computational load of LCASCKF is close to that of SCKF. 19Efficiency of community health service in urban and suburban areas of Shanghai:based on production function显示文摘Objective:To analyze the efficiency of community health service in urban and suburban areas of Shanghai.Methods:Fifty community health centers in Shanghai that registered to create“National Demonstration Community Health Center”in 2013 were included in our study.The service efficiency was analyzed with the methods of econometrics based on Cobb-Douglas production function.Results:Two production functions were formulated for urban community health services and those in suburban areas;the equation for urban areas was:lnY=7.778+0.450lnL+0.350lnK+μ;and the equation for suburban areas was:lnY=6.329+0.728lnL+0.350lnK+μ.The results showed that among the inputs,labor had more effect on output than capital did.It also showed that marginal ben-efit of labor was different in urban and suburban areas.Urban community health centers were in the interval of decreasing returns to scale,while suburban community health centers were in the interval of constant returns to scale.Conclusion:Increasing human resource investment is a key factor for increasing community health service output.Due to the difference of scale merit between urban and rural areas,govern-ment or other policy makers should make the development policy for them accordingly.Those com-munity health centers in urban areas should pay more attention to the service efficiency and service innovation.AN ZHANG WEN XIA YONG BAO 2013Family Medicine and Community Health2013,1,2:6
20Size effect in the Al3Sc dispersoid-mediated precipitation and mechanical/electrical properties of Al-Mg-Si-Sc alloys显示文摘A significant size effect is found in the Al3 Sc dispersoid-mediated precipitation in an Al-Mg-Si-Sc alloy.When the Al3 Sc dispersoid size smaller than about 40 nm,β ' precipitates nucleate directly on the coherent dispersoids and grow by sacrificing the latter.While the dispersoid size greater than^40 nm,Q' and U2 phases are additionally produced that nucleate on the dislocations induced by the semi-/incoherent dispersoids.Mechanical and electrical properties are highly sensitive to the Al3 Sc dispersoid-tuned precipitation.The co-precipitation of β',Q' and U2 phases leads to an obvious improvement in hardness and simultaneously in electrical conductivity.Ruihong Wang Shengyu Jiang Bao'an Chen Zhixiang Zhu 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,54,22:5
