1Effect of particles addition to solution of plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)on the properties of PEO coatings formed on magnesium and its alloys:A review显示文摘The plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)procedure is utilized in order to amend the surface properties of Mg and its alloys.This procedure creates a ceramic coating on the surface applying high-voltage.The presence of deep pores and porosities in the surface that affect the corrosion resistance of the coatings is one of the PEO procedure limitations.One of the useful methods to decrease porosities of coating and improve its final properties is changing electrolyte conditions based on the presence of micro-and nanoparticles.The present paper reviews the mechanisms of particle adsorption and composition in PEO thin films in addition to the effect of particle addition on the microstructure,composition and corrosion behavior of coatings that were applied on magnesium alloys.Arash Fattah-alhosseini Razieh Chaharmahali Kazem Babaei 2020Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2020,8,3:14
2Kaempferol attenuates cognitive deficit via regulating oxidative stress and neuroinflammation in an ovariectomized rat model of sporadic dementia显示文摘Alzheimer's disease(AD) is associated with oxidative stress, and ultimately results in cognitive deficit. Despite existing literature on the pathophysiology of AD, there is currently no cure for AD. The present study investigated the effects of kaempferol(Kmp) isolated from the extract of Mespilus germanica L.(medlar) leaves on cognitive impairment, hippocampal antioxidants, apoptosis, lipid peroxidation and neuro-inflammation markers in ovariectomized(OVX) rat models of sporadic AD. Kaempferol, as the main flavonoid of medlar extract has been previously known for anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory and anti-neurotoxic effects. Thirty-two female Wistar rats were ovariectomized, and randomly divided into four groups: sham, OVX + saline, OVX + streptozotocin(STZ) + saline, OVX + STZ + Kmp. Animals received intracerebroventricular injection of STZ(3 mg/kg, twice with one day interval) to establish models of sporadic AD. Intraperitoneal injection of Kmp(10 mg/kg) for 21 days was performed in the OVX + STZ + Kmp group. Spatial learning and memory of rats were evaluated using a Morris water maze. Finally, brain homogenates were used for biochemical analysis by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The results showed a significant improvement in spatial learning and memory as evidenced by shortened escape latency and searching distance in Morris water maze in the OVX + STZ + Kmp group compared with the OVX + STZ group. Kmp also exhibited significant elevations in brain levels of antioxidant enzymes of superoxide dismutase and glutathione, while reduction in tumor necrosis factor-α and malondialdehyde. Our results demonstrate that Kmp is capable of alleviating STZ-induced memory impairment in OVX rats, probably by elevating endogenous hippocampal antioxidants of superoxide dismutase and glutathione, and reducing neuroinflammation. 3Rock fracture density characterization using measurement while drilling(MWD) techniques显示文摘Accurate determination of rock mass properties is a critical part of open-pit mine planning activities to enable more prescriptive blast designs to achieve improved loading and hauling and downstream process efficiency. Better and more accurate blast practice that delivers enhanced outcomes(better fragmentation, improved diggability, less dilution, etc.) is a critical and fundamental element of being able to achieve an effective Mine-Mill approach at a mining operation. Based on previous work, it has been demonstrated that an accurate representation of the rock mass properties can be obtained from the analysis of variations in blasthole drill performance as derived from measurement while drilling(MWD) systems when using tricone bits. This paper further investigates how monitored rate of penetration,pulldown force, rotary torque, rotary speed and bailing air pressure responses can be used to determine the presence of open and partially open fractures having varying dip angles. Based on a correlation of geophysically measured fracture logs and monitored drill performance variables in the same blastholes, the results show that the latter responses can accurately determine open versus closed fractures. 4Surface characterization and corrosion behavior of calcium phosphate(Ca-P)base composite layer on Mg and its alloys using plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO):A review显示文摘Magnesium has been known as an appropriate biological material on account of its good biocompatibility and biodegradability properties in addition to advantageous mechanical properties.Mg and its alloys are of poor corrosion resistance.Its high corrosion rate leads to its quick decomposition in the corrosive ambiance and as a result weakening its mechanical properties and before it is repaired,it will vanish.The corrosion and degradation rate must be controlled in the body to advance the usage of Mg and its alloys as implants.Different techniques have been utilized to boost biological properties.Plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)can provide porous and biocompatible coatings for implants among various techniques.Biodegradable implants are generally supposed to show enough corrosion resistance and mechanical integrity in the body environment.Much research has been carried out in order to produce PEO coatings containing calcium phosphate compounds.Calcium phosphates are really similar to bone mineral composition and present great biocompatibility.The present study deals with the usage of calcium phosphates as biocompatible coatings applied on Mg and its alloys to study the properties and control the corrosion rate.Razieh Chaharmahali Arash Fattah-alhosseini Kazem Babaei 2021Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2021,9,1:6
5Improving the wear resistance of plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)coatings applied on Mg and its alloys under the addition of nano-and micro-sized additives into the electrolytes:A review显示文摘As an efficient surface modification approach,the plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)technique can boost the capability of wear protection in Mg and its alloys by applying a hard and thick ceramic coating.In this procedure,more efficient protection can be acquired via adding additives(in the form of particle,powder,sheet,etc.)into solutions and producing composite coatings.These additives result in more efficient protection against wear via getting stuck in the cracks and pores of coatings and rising the thickness,hardness,and diminishing the porosity size and content.The efficiency of each additive can be changed owing to its intrinsic properties like melting point,size,participation type(reactive,partly reactive,or inert)and potential of zeta.In this review,the effects of distinct additives in nano-and micro-scale size on wear behavior of PEO coatings on Mg and its alloys is going to be reviewed.Maryam Molaei Kazem Babaei Arash Fattah-alhosseini 2021Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2021,9,4:3
6Simplified microsatellite instability detection protocol provides equivalent sensitivity to robust detection strategies in Lynch syndrome patients显示文摘Objective:Germline mutations in mismatch repair(MMR)genes cause Lynch syndrome(LS).LS is an inherited disease,and an important consequence of MMR deficiency is microsatellite instability(MSI)phenotype.MSI phenotype influences the efficacy of5 fluorouracil(5-FU)chemotherapy.Reproducible,cost effective,and easy to perform laboratory tests are required to include MSI detection in routine laboratory practice.Evaluation of CAT25 as monomorphic short tandem repeat sequence enables CAT25 to be an efficient screening tool among hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer(HNPCC)patients compared with other methods used currently.Methods:Based on Amsterdam II criteria,31 patients in 31 families were shortlisted from a total number of 1,659 colorectal cancer patients.MSI status was examined in these patients using CAT25 and a commercially available Promega MSI five-markerbased detection system as well as immunohistochemical(IHC)staining of four important MMR proteins.Patients were scored as high microsatellite instable(MSI-H),low(MSI-L),or stable(MSS).MSI status determined by CAT25 single mononucleotide marker was compared with that of five mononucleotide markers,Promega commercial kit,and IHC method.Results:MMR protein deficiency was observed on 7/31 probands using IHC methodology and 6/31 categorized as MSI-H using commercial kit or CAT25 single marker.The sensitivity and specificity of the CAT25 single marker were the same as those detected by five-marker Promega commercial kit in our patients.Conclusions:Based on our results,the performance of the CAT25 single mononucleotide marker for MSI status determination in our HNPCC patients is the same as that of the five-marker-based commercial kit.Hadi Babaei Mehrdad Zeinalian Mohammad Hassan Emami Mortaza Hashemzadeh Najmeh Farahani Rasoul Salehi 2017Cancer Biology & Medicine2017,14,2:3
7Aircraft robust multidisciplinary design optimization methodology based on fuzzy preference function显示文摘This paper presents a Fuzzy Preference Function-based Robust Multidisciplinary Design Optimization(FPF-RMDO) methodology. This method is an effective approach to multidisciplinary systems, which can be used to designer experiences during the design optimization process by fuzzy preference functions. In this study, two optimizations are done for Predator MQ-1 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV):(A) deterministic optimization and(B) robust optimization. In both problems, minimization of takeoff weight and drag is considered as objective functions, which have been optimized using Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm(NSGA). In the robust design optimization, cruise altitude and velocity are considered as uncertainties that are modeled by the Monte Carlo Simulation(MCS) method. Aerodynamics, stability and control, mass properties, performance, and center of gravity are used for multidisciplinary analysis. 11Iran supports a great share of biodiversity and floristic endemism for Fritillaria spp.(Liliaceae):A review显示文摘Iran supports a great share of exotic and/or endemic plant genera and species. The genus Fritillaria(Liliaceae) is a precious part of this botanical richness with 19 species, of which 10 are endemic to the country. However, signs are mounting that the country is truly at a crossroads when it comes to preservation of this national wealth. In this regard, an effective conservation strategy should thoroughly consider the classification of Fritillaria, as conservation practices are compromised by knowledge gaps in systematics and taxonomy. 13Adaptive controller design based on input-output signal selection for voltage source converter high voltage direct current systems to improve power system stability显示文摘An input-output signal selection based on Phillips-Heffron model of a parallel high voltage alternative current/high voltage direct current(HVAC/HVDC) power system is presented to study power system stability. It is well known that appropriate coupling of inputs-outputs signals in the multivariable HVDC-HVAC system can improve the performance of designed supplemetary controller. In this work, different analysis techniques are used to measure controllability and observability of electromechanical oscillation mode. Also inputs–outputs interactions are considered and suggestions are drawn to select the best signal pair through the system inputs-outputs. In addition, a supplementary online adaptive controller for nonlinear HVDC to damp low frequency oscillations in a weakly connected system is proposed. The results obtained using MATLAB software show that the best output-input for damping controller design is rotor speed deviation as out put and phase angle of rectifier as in put. 14Analgesic effect of paracetamol combined with low- dose morphine versus morphine alone on patients with biliary colic: a double blind, randomized controlled trial显示文摘BACKGROUND:Numerous drugs have been proposed to alleviate pain in patients with biliary colic,especially opioids,but still there is a tendency to use less narcotics because of their side effects and the unwillingness of some patients.The present study aimed to compare the analgesic effect of paracetamol combined with low-dose morphine versus morphine alone in patients with biliary colic.METHODS:A randomized double-blind controlled trial was performed in 98 patients with biliary colic,recruited from two emergency departments from August 2012 to August 2013.Eleven patients were excluded and the remaining were randomized into two groups:group A received 0.05mg/kg morphine+1 000 mg paracetamol in 100 m L normal saline and group B received 0.1 mg/kg morphine+normal saline(100 m L)as placebo.Pain scores were recorded using visual analogue scale(VAS)at baseline and 15 and 30 minutes after drug administration.Adverse effects and the need for rescue medication(0.75 g/kg intravenous fentanyl)were also reported within 60 minutes of drug administration.RESULTS:Before the infusion,the mean±SD VAS scores were 8.73±1.57 in group A and8.53±1.99 in group B.At 15 minutes after drug administration,the mean±SD VAS scores were2.16±1.90 in group A vs.2.51±1.86 in group B;mean difference was–0.35,and 95%CI–1.15 to 0.45(P=0.38).At 30 minutes the mean±SD VAS scores were 1.66±1.59 in group A vs.2.14±1.79 in group B;mean difference was–0.48,and 95%CI–1.20 to 0.24(P=0.19).The mean pain scores in the two groups at 15 and 30 minutes demonstrated no significant difference.CONCLUSION:Paracetamol combined with low-dose morphine may be effective for pain management in patients with biliary colic.Mohammad Reza Farnia Rasoul Babaei Farzaneh Shirani Mehdi Momeni Majid Hajimaghsoudi Elnaz Vahidi Morteza Saeedi 2016World Journal of Emergency Medicine2016,7,1:2
