22D Carbon Fiber Reinforced High Density Polyethylene Multi-Layered Laminated Composite Panels:Structural,Mechanical,Thermal,and Morphological Profile显示文摘Carbon fiber reinforced high density polyethylene multi-layered laminated composite panels(HDPE/CF MLCP) with excellent in-plane properties along transverse direction have been formulated. Composite architectures with carbon fiber(CF) designed in 2D layout in conventional composites can alleviate their properties in thickness direction, but all attempts so far developed have achieved restrained success. Here,we have exposed an approach to the high strength composite challenge, without altering the 2D stack design on the basis of concept of fiber reinforced laminated composites that would provide enhanced mechanical and thermal properties along transverse direction. CF sheets allowed the buckling of adjoining plies in 2D MLCP. We fabricated 2D MLCP by stacking the alternative CF and HDPE layers under different loading conditions, which resulted in high strength composites. These plies of CF and HDPE served as unit cells for MLCP, with CF offering much-needed fracture toughness and hardness to these materials.For 2D HDPE/CF MLCP, we demonstrated noteworthy improvement in physical and chemical interaction between CF and HDPE, in-plane fracture strain, flexural strength(30.684 MPa), bending modulus(7436.254 MPa), thermal stability(40.94%), and surface morphology, upon increasing the CF layers up to twenty, enabling these composites truly for high temperature and high strength applications.Shahzad Maqsood Khan Nafisa Gull Muhammad Azeem Munawar Atif Islam Saba Zia Muhammad Shafiq Aneela Sabir Syed Muhammad Awais Muhammad Arif Butt Muhammad Taqi Zahid Butt Tahir Jamil 2016Journal of Materials Science & Technology2016,32,10:1

4Blockchain-Enabled EHR Framework for Internet of Medical Things显示文摘The Internet of Medical Things(IoMT)offers an infrastructure made of smart medical equipment and software applications for healthcare services.Through the internet,the IoMT is capable of providing remote medical diagnosis and timely health services.The patients can use their smart devices to create,store and share their electronic health records(EHR)with a variety of medical personnel including medical doctors and nurses.However,unless the underlying commination within IoMT is secured,malicious users can intercept,modify and even delete the sensitive EHR data of patients.Patients also lose full control of their EHR since most healthcare services within IoMT are constructed under a centralized platform outsourced in the cloud.Therefore,it is appealing to design a decentralized,auditable and secure EHR system that guarantees absolute access control for the patients while ensuring privacy and security.Using the features of blockchain including decentralization,auditability and immutability,we propose a secure EHR framework which is mainly maintained by the medical centers.In this framework,the patients’EHR data are encrypted and stored in the servers of medical institutions while the corresponding hash values are kept on the blockchain.We make use of security primitives to offer authentication,integrity and confidentiality of EHR data while access control and immutability is guaranteed by the blockchain technology.The security analysis and performance evaluation of the proposed framework confirms its efficiency.Lewis Nkenyereye S.M.Riazul Islam Mahmud Hossain M.Abdullah-Al-Wadud Atif Alamri 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,4:0
5Fog-Based Secure Framework for Personal Health Records Systems显示文摘The rapid development of personal health records(PHR)systems enables an individual to collect,create,store and share his PHR to authorized entities.Health care systems within the smart city environment require a patient to share his PRH data with a multitude of institutions’repositories located in the cloud.The cloud computing paradigm cannot meet such a massive transformative healthcare systems due to drawbacks including network latency,scalability and bandwidth.Fog computing relieves the load of conventional cloud computing by availing intermediate fog nodes between the end users and the remote servers.Assuming a massive demand of PHR data within a ubiquitous smart city,we propose a secure and fog assisted framework for PHR systems to address security,access control and privacy concerns.Built under a fog-based architecture,the proposed framework makes use of efficient key exchange protocol coupled with ciphertext attribute based encryption(CP-ABE)to guarantee confidentiality and fine-grained access control within the system respectively.We also make use of digital signature combined with CP-ABE to ensure the system authentication and users privacy.We provide the analysis of the proposed framework in terms of security and performance.Lewis Nkenyereye S.M.Riazul Islam Mahmud Hossain MAbdullah-Al-Wadud Atif Alamri 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,2:0
6Investigation of functional,physical,mechanical and thermal properties of TiO_2 embedded polyester hybrid composites:A design of experiment(DoE)study显示文摘This paper presents a study on the Design of Experiments(Do E) approach to optimize the fabrication parameters of titania(TiO_2) embedded glass fiber reinforced polyester hybrid composites(HCs). HCs of unsaturated polyester resin(UPR) were fabricated using methyl ethyl ketone peroxide(MEKP) as the curing agent by hand lay-up process(HLUP) and compression molding technique(CMT). The fabrication parameters were optimized by Taguchi Do E(an orthogonal array of L25) using 3 control factors(concentration of TiO_2, concentration of MEKP and curing temperature) having 5 levels each. Statistical tools were employed to identify significant factors affecting tensile strengths and its reproducibility during HLUP. It was found that the concentration of TiO_2 in HCs significantly influenced the tensile strength(TS) followed by MEKP concentration and curing temperature. The highest value of TS was obtained at 3 wt% TiO_2, 2 wt% MEKP and 80 °C. Nevertheless, the sensitivity of TiO_2 concentration was basis for fabrication of polyester titania glass fiber hybrids(PTGFHs), which were further investigated for density and void fractions, linear shrinkage, flexural strength, impact strength, hardness and thermal behaviors. 7Towards Prevention of Sportsmen Burnout:Formal Analysis of Sub-Optimal Tournament Scheduling显示文摘Scheduling a sports tournament is a complex optimization problem,which requires a large number of hard constraints to satisfy.Despite the availability of several such constraints in the literature,there remains a gap sincemost of the new sports events pose their own unique set of requirements,and demand novel constraints.Specifically talking of the strictly time bound events,ensuring fairness between the different teams in terms of their rest days,traveling,and the number of successive games they play,becomes a difficult task to resolve,and demands attention.In this work,we present a similar situation with a recently played sports event,where a suboptimal schedule favored some of the sides more than the others.We introduce various competitive parameters to draw a fairness comparison between the sides and propose a weighting criterion to point out the sides that enjoyed this schedule more than the others.Furthermore,we use root mean squared error between an ideal schedule and the actual ones for each side to determine unfairness in the distribution of rest days across their entire schedules.The latter is crucial,since successively playing a large number of games may lead to sportsmen burnout,which must be prevented.Syed Rameez Naqvi Adnan Ahmad S.M.Riazul Islam Tallha Akram M.Abdullah-Al-Wadud Atif Alamri 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,1:0
