1Mineral processing plant location using the analytic hierarchy process——a case study:the Sangan iron ore mine(phase 1)显示文摘Locating the mineral processing plant near a mine is the most important parameter that affects the whole process.Many factors,and their preferences,should be considered in this stage.The factors include economical,geological,technical,environmental and tectonic parameters.A multi-criteria decision making method is necessary to rank the alternatives.In this paper we describe how plant location is selected by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP).This method,with eight criteria,was used to select a location for the mineral processing plant at the Sangan iron ore mine(phase 1).Three alternatives for the processing plant were evaluated.The main criteria were distance from the mine,access to heavy machinery transport,the amount of excavation required for grading,bed mixture capacity,belt conveyor length,distance from the tailing dam,distance from the waste dumps and surface water diversion requirements.Finally,the alternatives were ranked and the best location was proposed.SAFARI Mohsen ATAEI Mohammad KHALOKAKAIE Reza KARAMOZIAN Mohammad 2010Mining Science and Technology2010,20,5:15
2Simultaneous effects of joint spacing and joint orientation on the penetration rate of a single disc cutter显示文摘This paper describes the influence of joint spacing and joint orientation on the penetration rate of a Tunnel Boring Machine(TBM) disc cutter as modeled by the Discrete Element Method(DEM).The input data for the simulations were obtained from the sandstone along the Alborz tunnel that is currently being excavated in Iran using a 5.2 m diameter open TBM.Three joint spacings,150,200,and 300 mm,were modeled together with seven values of joint orientation;0°,15°,30°,45°,60°,75°,and 90°.The results show that the penetration increases when joint orientation increases from 0° to 75°,but it decreases as the joint orientation increases further from 75° to 90°.This is true for each joint spacing.In addition,for a given joint orientation increasing the joint spacing causes the TBM penetration to decrease.The optimum joint orientation,from the viewpoint of TBM penetration,is about 60-75°.Bejari Hadi Kakaie Reza Ataei Mohammad Khademi-Hamidi Javad 2011Mining Science and Technology2011,21,4:13

4Application of a fuzzy analytical hierarchy process to the prediction of vibration during rock sawing显示文摘A new predictive model for evaluating the vibration of a sawing machine was developed using a new rock classification system. The predictors are machine parameters and a rock sawability index. The new rock classification system includes four major parameters of the rock: uniaxial compressive strength, abrasiv- ity index, mean Moh's hardness, and Young's modulus. The FAHP approach was used when determining the weights of these parameters by six decision makers. Two groups of carbonate rocks were sawn using a fully-instrumented laboratory sawing rig at different feed rates and depths of cut. During the sawing trials system vibration was monitored as a measure of saw performance. Then, a new statistical model was obtained by multiple regression on the machining parameters and the rock sawability index. 5Monte Carlo Analytic Hierarchy Process (MAHP) approach to selection of optimum mining method显示文摘One of the most critical and complicated steps in mine design is a selection of suitable mining method based upon geological,geotechnical,geographical,safety and economical parameters.The aim of this study is developing a Monte Carlo simulation to selection the optimum mining method by using effective and major criteria and at the same time,taking subjective judgments of decision makers into consideration.Proposed approach is based on the combination of Monte Carlo simulation with conventional Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP).Monte Carlo simulation is used to determine the confdence level of each alternative’s score,is calculated by AHP,with the respect to the variance of decision makers’opinion.The proposed method is applied for Jajarm Bauxite Mine in Iran and eventually the most appropriate mining methods for this mine are ranked.Ataei Mohammad Shahsavany Hashem Mikaeil Reza 2013International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2013,23,4:8
6Application of analytical hierarchy process to selection of primary crusher显示文摘Selection of crusher required a great deal of design based on the mining plan and operation input.Selection of the best primary crusher from all of available primary crushers is a Multi-Criterion Decision Making(MCDM) problem. In this paper, the Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP) method was used to selection of the best primary crusher for Golegohar Iron Mine in Iran. For this reason, gyratory, double toggle jaw, single toggle jaw, high speed roll crusher, low speed sizer, impactor, hammer mill and feeder breaker crushers were considered as alternatives and capacity, feed size, product size, rock compressive strength, abrasion index and mobility of crusher were considered as criteria. 7Reliability-based maintenance scheduling of hydraulic system of rotary drilling machines显示文摘Hydraulic system has a critical and important role in drilling machines.Any failure in this system leads to problems in power system and machine operation.Since the failure cannot be prevented entirely,it is important to minimize its probability.Reliability is one of the most effcient and important method to study safe operation probability of hydraulic systems.In this research,the reliability of hydraulic system of four rotary drilling machines in Sarcheshmeh Copper Mine in Iran has been analyzed.The data analysis shows that the time between failures(TBF)of Machines A and C obey the Weibull(2P)and Weibull(3P)distribution,respectively.Also,the TBF of Machines B and D obey the lognormal distribution.With regard to reliability plots of hydraulic systems,preventive reliability-based maintenance time intervals for 80%reliability levels for machines in this system are 10 h.Mohammad Javad Rahimdel Mohammad Ataei Reza Khalokakaei Seyed Hadi Hoseinie 2013International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2013,23,5:4

9A new framework for evaluation of rock fragmentation in open pit mines显示文摘The main purpose of blasting in open pit mines is to produce the feed for crushing stage with the optimum dimensions from in situ rocks. The size distribution of muck pile indicates the efficiency of blasting pattern to reach the required optimum sizes. Nevertheless, there is no mature model to predict fragmentation distribution to date that can be used in various open pit mines. Therefore, a new framework to evaluate and predict fragmentation distribution is presented based on the image analysis approach. For this purpose, the data collected from Jajarm bauxite mine in Iran were used as the sources in this study. The image analysis process was performed by Split-Desktop software to find out fragmentation distribution, uniformity index and average size of the fragmented rocks. Then, two different approaches including the multivariate regression method and the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory(DEMATEL) technique were incorporated to develop new models of the uniformity index and the average size to improve the Rosin-Rammler function. The performances of the proposed models were evaluated in four blasting operation sites. 13Prediction of rotary drilling penetration rate in iron ore oxides using rock engineering system显示文摘Prediction of the drilling penetration rate is one of the important parameters in mining operations. This parameter has a direct impact on the mine planning and cost of mining operations. Generally, effective parameters on the penetration rate is divided into two classes: rock mass properties and specifications of the machine. The chemical components of intact rock have a direct effect in determining rock mechanical properties. Theses parameters usually have not been investigated in any research on the rock drillability. In this study, physical and mechanical properties of iron ore were studied based on the amount of magnetite percent. According to the results of the tests, the effective parameters on the penetration rate of the rotary drilling machines were divided into three classes: specifications of the machines, rock mass properties and chemical component of intact rock. Then, the rock drillability was studied using rock engineering systems. The results showed that feed, rotation, rock mass index and iron oxide percent have important effect on penetration rate. Then a quadratic equation with 0.896 determination coefficient has been obtained. 17Non-catalytic conversion of wheat straw,walnut shell and almond shell into hydrogen rich gas in supercritical water media显示文摘Agricultural wastes as lignocellulosic biomasses are known as the major resources of bioenergy. These valuable resources can be converted into useful environmental friendly fuels and chemicals. Wheat straw, walnut shell and almond shell are the main agricultural wastes in Kurdistan province, Iran. This study investigates the hydrogen-rich gas production via gasification of these biomasses in supercritical water media. Experiments were performed first, in the base case condition using a stainless steel batch micro reactor system. Then, the effect of reaction time on the total gas yield and yield of hydrogen, were investigated. It was seen that the total gas yields and gasification efficiencies increased by increasing the reaction time to 30 min and then the total gas yield was approximately remained constant. Among three used feed stocks, wheat straw with higher amount of cellulose and lower amount of lignin had the highest total gas and hydrogen yields in shorter reaction times.The maximum hydrogen yields of 7.25, 4.1 and 4.63 mmol per gram of wheat straw, almond shell and walnut shell occurred at 10, 15 and 20 min of reaction time, respectively.Farid Safari Mohammad Salimi Ahmad Tavasoli Abtin Ataei 2016Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,8:0
