1Discontinuous deformation analysis based on complementary theory显示文摘The contact between blocks is treated by the open-close iteration in the conventional discontinuous deformation analysis (DDA),which needs to introduce spurious springs between two blocks in contact and to assume the normal stiffness and the tangential stiffness (the penalty factors). Unreasonable values of stiffness would result in numerical problems. To avoid the penalty factors and the open-close iteration,we reformulate the DDA as a mixed complementary problem (MiCP) and then choose the path Newton method (PNM) to solve the problem. 2Effect of bowel rehabilitative therapy on structural adaptation of remnant small intestine: animal experiment显示文摘AIM To investigate the individual and thecombined effects of glutamine, dietary fiber,and growth hormone on the structural adaptationof the remnant small bowel.METHODS Forty-two adult male Sprague-Dawley rats underwent 85% mid-small bowel( TPN ) support during the first threepostoperational days. From the 4thpostoperational day, animals were randomlyassigned to receive 7 different treatments for 8days: TPNcon group, receiving TPN and enteral20 g.L- 1 glycine perfusion; TPN + Gin group,receiving TPN and enteral 20 g.L-1 glutamineperfusion; ENcon group, receiving enteralnutrition (EN) fortified with 20 g@L-1 glycine; EN+ Gin group, enteral nutrition fortified with20g. Glutamine-enriched ENproduced little effect in body mass, plasma IGF-Ⅰ level, and remnant small bowel mucosalstructure. The ENint group had greater bodymass (280g ± 2.2g), plasma IGF-Ⅰ level(1450g@L-1 ± 137g. L 1), and villus height(jejunum 620 μm ± 56 μm, ileum 450 um ± 31 μm)and mucosal thickness (jejunum 800 μm ± 52 μm,ileum 633 μm± 33 μm) than those in ENcon, EN +Gin (jejunum villus height and mucosa thickness450 μm ± 47 μm and 610 μm ± 63 μm, ileum villusheight and mucosa thickness 330 μm ± 39 μm and500 μm± 52 μm), EN + GH groups (P<0.05), andthan those in EN + Fib group although nostatistical significance was attained.CONCLUSION Both dietary fiber and GH whenused separately can enhance the postresectionalsmall bowel structural adaptation. Simultaneoususe of these two gut-trophic factors can producesynergistic effects on small bowel structuraladaptation. 3Role of laparoscopic subtotal cholecystectomy in the treatment of complicated cholecystitis显示文摘BACKGROUND: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) has become the 'gold standard' in treating benign gallbladder diseases. Increasing laparoscopic experience and techniques have made laparoscopic subtotal cholecystectomy (LSC) a feasible option in more complex procedures. In recent years, few studies with a few cases of LSC have reported good results in patients with various types of cholecystitis. This study was designed to evaluate the feasibility, indications, characteristics and benefits of LSC in patients with complicated cholecystitis. METHODS: Altogether, 3485 patients were scheduled to receive LC during the past 4 years at our institute. Among them, 168 patients with various complicated forms of cholecystitis were treated by LSC. Meanwhile, the other 3317 patients who received standard LC were enrolled as the control group. Perioperative data from the two groups were collected and retrospectively analyzed. RESULTS: In the LSC group, 135 patients suffered from acute calculic cholecystitis, 18 from chronic calculic cholecystitis with cirrhotic portal hypertention, and 15 from chronic calculic atrophy cholecystitis with severe fibrosis. These patients constituted 4.8% of the total patients who underwent LC (168/3485) in the same period at our institute. In 122 patients, the cystic duct and artery were clipped before division. In another 46 patients, the gallbladder was initially incised at Hartmann’s pouch. Five patients (3.0%) were converted to open subtotal cholecystectomy. The median operation time for LSC was 65.5±15.2 minutes, estimated operative blood loss was 71.5±15.5 ml, and the time to resume diet was 20.4±6.3 hours. Thirteen patients (7.7%) had local complications. The mean postoperative hospital stay was 4.2±2.6 days. In the LC group, 2887 had chronic calculic cholecystitis, 312had acute calculic cholecystitis, 47 had chronic calculic atrophy cholecystitis, and 71 had polypus. Seventeen patients (0.5%) were converted to open cholecystectomy. The median operation time was 32.6±10.2 minutes, the estimated operative blood loss was 24.5±8.5 ml, and the time to resume diet was 18.3±4.5 hours. Thirty- nine patients (1.2%) had local complications. Mean postoperative hospital stay was 3.8±1.4 days. There was no bile duct injury or mortality in either group. CONCLUSIONS: LSC for patients with complicated cholecystitis is difficult, with a longer operation time, more operative blood loss and higher conversion and complication rates than LC. However, it is feasible and relatively safe. LSC is advantageous over open surgery, but it remains a non-routine choice. 5Influence of differential settlement on pavement structure of widened roads based on large-scale model test显示文摘This study introduced at first the background of numerous highway widening projects that have been developed in recent years in China.Using a large ground settlement simulator and a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) strain sensor network system,a large-scale model test,with a similarity ratio of 1:2,was performed to analyze the influence of differential settlement between new and old subgrades on pavement structure under loading condition.The result shows that excessive differential settlement can cause considerable tensile strain in the pavement structure of a widened road,for which a maximum value (S) of 6 cm is recommended.Under the repetitive load,the top layers of pavement structure are subjected to the alternate action of tensile and compressive strains,which would eventually lead to a fatigue failure of the pavement.However,application of geogrid to the splice between the new and the old roads can reduce differential settlement to a limited extent.The new subgrade of a widened road is vulnerable to the influence of dynamic load transferred from the above pavement structures.While for the old subgrade,due to its comparatively high stiffness,it can well spread the load on the pavement statically or dynamically.The test also shows that application of geogrid can effectively prevent or defer the failure of pavement structure.With geogrid,the modulus of resilience of the subgrade is increased and inhomogeneous deformation can be reduced;therefore,the stress/strain distribution in pavement structure under loading condition becomes uniform.The results obtained in this context are expected to provide a helpful reference for structural design and maintenance strategy for future highway widening projects.Xiaolin Weng1,2,Wei Wang3 1 Key Laboratory for Special Area Highway Engineering of Ministry of Education,Chang’an University,Xi’an,710064,China 2 CCCC First Highway Consultants Co.,Ltd.,Xi’an,710068,China 3 Henan Vocational and Technical College of Communications,Zhengzhou,450005,China 2011Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2011,3,1:11

7A nontrivial factor in determining current distribution in an ac HTS cable-proximity effect显示文摘A superconductor has zero resistance at the superconducting state. This unique property creates many exceptional phenomena, of which some are known and the others are not. Our experiments with multilayer high temperature superconductor (HTS) cable samples revealed a new phenomenon that alternating current had a tendency to flow in the inner and outer layers of the cables. We attribute the cause of this phenomenon to the electromagnetic interaction in an infinite electrical conductivity medium and term it 'super-proximity-effect'. 10Anisotropic damage coupled modeling of saturated porous rock显示文摘It is widely acknowledged that the natural rock mass is anisotropic and its failing type is also non-isotropic. An orthotropic elastic damaged model has been proposed in which the elastic deformation,the damaged deformation and irreversible deformation can be identified respectively. A second rank damage tensor is employed to characterize the induced damage and damage evolution related to the propagation conditions of microcracks. A specific form of the Gibbs free energy function is used to obtain the effective elastic stiffness and the limited scopes of damage parameters are suggested. The model’s parameter determination is proposed by virtue of conventional tri-axial test. 11Global analysis on slope stability and its engineering application显示文摘In hydraulic engineering, sometimes it is necessary to consider the stability of sliding bodies with lateral frictional boundaries. Neither the existing three dimensional limit equilibrium methods nor the commercial software products are able to treat such situations. The three dimensional factor of safety is accordingly underestimated; while the shearing strength based on the three dimensional back analysis is overestimated. In this study, the lateral boundaries are regarded as the part of the slip surface. Based on the expression of the normal pressure on the slip surface and the patch interpolation, a rigorous solution for the three dimensional limit equilibrium analysis is realized. 12Color Doppler Imaging in the Study of Retrobulbar Hemodynamic Changes of Primary Angle-closure Glaucoma显示文摘Purpose: To investigate the hemodynamic changes of ophthalmic and central retinal artery (OA,CRA) in Primary Angle-closure Glaucoma (PACG) and the effects of intraocular pressure (TOP) on the retrobulbar hemodynamics.Methods: The hemodynamic changes of OA, CRA in PACG were explored with color Doppler imaging (CDI) technique. Peak systolic blood flow velocity (PSV), end-diastolic blood flow velocity (EDV),pulsatile and resistive indices (PI,RI) were recorded and compared with those of the normal subjects. There were 20 patients (40 eyes) with PACG who were divided into two groups according to their IOP levels; ocular hypertension (15 eyes) and normal tension (25 eyes) .Results : Compared with the normal subjects, the hypertension group of PACG showed significant reduction in the EDV and increases in PI, RI of CRA; normal tension group of PACG also showed remarkable increase in RI of CRA. 13The study of two-color excitation upconversion of Pr(0.5)Yb(3):ZBLAN显示文摘The excited state absorption upconversion of Pr(0.5)Yb(3):ZBLAN glass material, under two-color excitation of the 960 nm semiconductor laser and the Xe lamp light simultaneously, is reported in this article. It was found that the upconversion emission spectra of 480.1, 519.0, 601.9 and 631.8 nm coincide with the common emission spectra. Meanwhile, the upconversion-excitation spectrum has three obvious peaks under two-color excitation, and they respectively correspond to the 856.0 nm upconversion ex-citation transition [1G4(Pr3+)→1I6(Pr3+) and 1G4(Pr3+)→3P1(Pr3+)], the 789.0 nm upconver-sion excitation transition 1G4(Pr3+)→3P2(Pr3+), and the 803.7 nm upconversion excitation transition 3H6(Pr3+)→1D2(Pr3+). The upconversion excitation transition 1G4(Pr3+)→1I6(Pr3+) is strong because its oscillator strength f = 23.040×10?6 is large, which results in a large peak appearing in the upconversion excitation spectrum. 16Research on forecasting model of sandstone deformation rate during sine wave loading segment under the lag effect显示文摘To reduce data variance caused by individual differences of different samples,a new experimental method is proposed by loading and unloading the axial forces with different frequencies and different waves of a certain load amplitude to the same rock sample without damaging it.Lag time segments are defined and fractionized into segments I and Ⅱ.Criterions for seg-mentation,definitions of relevant parameters and empirical analysis are also offered afterwards.In the course of sinusoidal loading,the serious peak value dislocation of the displacement variation rate and the loading rate is defined as peak dislocation.Meanwhile,the definition of the apparent tangent modulus is put forward and the linear relation between it and the vertical force in the frequency of 0.1,0.2,0.5 Hz sinusoidal loading segment is confirmed to be ever-present on the basis of the test data.Then the calculating formula of the deformation rate in non-lag time is deduced.It is thus suggested that the deformation rate should be codetermined by the loading rate df/dt and instant load f(t),which well explains the peak dislocation of the time-variable curve peak value of dl/dt and deformation rate of df/dt.Finally the lag time derivation model is established and by comparing the calculated values with the measured ones,it is demonstrated that the above formula offers a better simulation of the sandstone deformation rate in the sinusoidal loading segment,with the load amplitude being 96 kN and the frequency ranging from 0.1 Hz to 0.5 Hz.LIU Jie1,2,LI JianLin1,2,QU JianJun1,ZHOU JiFang3,ZHANG ChaoFeng3 & LI JianWu1 1Key Laboratory of Geological Hazards on Three Gorges Reservoir Area,Ministry of Education,China Three Gorges University,Yichang 443002,China 2College of Civil and Hydropower Engineering,China Three Gorges University,Yichang 443002,China 3Er’tan Hydropower Development Company,Ltd.Chengdu 61000,China 2010Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,5:2
