1马来西亚沙捞越盆地东北部第三系石英表面形态特征--对古沉积环境与储集层质量的指示意义显示文摘基于马来西亚沙捞越(Sarawak)盆地Belait组和Lambir组第三系露头样品,分析其石英表面形态,揭示其颗粒表面结构缺陷(源自风化作用和成岩作用)、古沉积环境以及储集层质量之间的相关关系。研究利用岩石薄片进行矿物识别,并观察粒径和结构;利用扫描电镜对样品的表面形态进行表征,以展现石英颗粒表面结构的变化。Belait组砾岩的扫描电镜图像表明其以自形石英晶体为主,常见机械风化缺陷,例如线性断口、贝壳状断口以及擦痕;而Lambir组砂岩中却常见化学风化特征,例如化学蚀痕、蚀坑、溶解坑以及刻痕。基于岩石学、扫描电镜以及CT扫描图像分析的储集层质量评价结果表明,研究区Belait组为高能海岸沉积,潮控特征明显,Lambir组为浅海—三角洲沉积,浪控特征明显;Belait组和Lambir组的储集层质量较差,但Belait组的孔隙度略高于Lambir组。Abdullah Musa Ali Eswaran Padmanabhan 2014石油勘探与开发2014,41,6:4
2Interactions of ferro-nanoparticles(hematite and magnetite) with reservoir sandstone: implications for surface adsorption and interfacial tension reduction显示文摘There are a few studies on the use of ferro-nanofluids for enhanced oil recovery,despite their magnetic properties;hence,it is needed to study the adsorption of iron oxide(Fe2 O3 and Fe3 O4) nanoparticles(NPs) on rock surfaces.This is important as the colloidal transport of NPs through the reservoir is subject to particle adsorption on the rock surface.Molecular dynamics simulation was used to determine the interfacial energy(strength) and adsorption of Fe2 O3 and Fe3 O4 nanofluids infused in reservoir sandstones.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray photon spectroscopy(XPS) were used to monitor interaction of silicate species with Fe2 O3 and Fe3 O4.The spectral changes show the variation of dominating silicate anions in the solution.Also,the XPS peaks for Si,C and Fe at 190,285 and 700 eV,respectively,are less distinct in the spectra of sandstone aged in the Fe3 O4 nanofluid,suggesting the intense adsorption of the Fe3 O4 with the crude oil.The measured IFT for brine/oil,Fe2 O3/oil and Fe3 O4/oil are 40,36.17 and 31 mN/m,respectively.Fe3 O4 infused with reservoir sandstone exhibits a higher silicate sorption capacity than Fe2 O3,due to their larger number of active surface sites and saturation magnetization,which accounts for the effectiveness of Fe3 O4 in reducing IFT.Abdullah Musa Ali Noorhana Yahya Saima Qureshi 2020Petroleum Science2020,17,4:2
3Incorporation of silica into the goethite structure: a microscopic and spectroscopic study显示文摘Quartz and iron(hydr)oxide are reactive surface phases that are often associated with one another in soils and sediments. Despite the several studies on the coating of quartz with iron oxides, the reactivity of dissolved species(Si) leached from quartz with iron(hydr)oxides has received limited attention. In this study, goethite synthesized on quartz substrates were characterized using field emission scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction(XRD), transmission electron microscopy, and Fouriertransform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopy. The SEM characterization revealed that bundles of thin parallel aligned goethite rods were formed at p H [ 10, while large pseudohexagonal crystals of twinned goethite needles were synthesized at p H B 10 after dehydration and hydration in the alkaline media. TEM analysis showed expanded and distorted lattice spacing of the crystal structure of iron(hydr)oxide due to silica incorporation. The characterization showed that silica increased the crystallite size of the goethite and transformed its acicular texture to a larger,twinned needle structure. FT-IR and XRD analyses revealed band shifts in crystal bonds as well as new bond formations, which indicate the presence of changes in the chemical environment of Fe–O and Si–O bonds. 5Quartz dissolution in a single phase-high pH Berea sandstone via alkaline injection显示文摘A common assertion is that alkaline solution aids oil mobilization by generating in situ soap,or by lowering interfacial tension(IFT)to ultra-low values in synergy with surfactants.This study takes a different approach that involves the alkaline dissolution of detrital quartz grains of sandstone reservoirs to create pathways for oil migration and accumulation.Quartz dissolution via alkaline injection will result in changes in permeability and porosity.This study performed high-pH core flooding on Berea sandstones using core displacement equipment.Silica molybdate spectrophotometry was applied to measure the amount of dissolved silica.Inlet and confining pressure variations were also observed.The molar concentration of NaOH varied at 0.5 M and 1.0 M.The results show higher initial silica dissolution for 0.5 M NaOH(˃200mg/L)compared to 1.0 M NaOH(20 mg/L),which can be attributed to the presence of pre-existing dissolved silica and precipitates in the system prior to the first injection phase.Nonetheless,a steady quartz dissolution rate of 0.4 mg/L/hr for 20 h was only achieved at 1.0 M.Conversely,an abrupt drop in quartz dissolution to below 0 mg/L was recorded for 0.5 M NaOH after 3 h of dissolution.At higher molar concentration of injected alkaline solution,both confining and inlet pressures increased from 8 and 5 bars to 12 and 11 bars as a result of the increased secondary phase of(hydr)oxides or precipitates in the pores.Thus,it can be inferred that the effect of alkaline solution on quartz dissolution is strongly dependent on molar concentration.Abdullah Musa Ali Mohammed Yerima Kwaya Abubakar Mijinyawa 2021Energy Geoscience2021,2,3:0
