| 3 | Characterization of NbSi_2–Al_2O_3 nanocomposite coatings prepared with plasma spraying mechanically alloyed powders显示文摘The present study characterized NbS i2–Al2O3 nanocomposite powders plasma-sprayed on Ti–6Al–4Vsubstrates. The powders were agglomerated to obtain suitable particle sizes for spraying. The agglomerated powders were then plasma-sprayed using atmospheric plasma spraying. The structural transformations of the powders along with the morphological and mechanical changes of the coatings were examined by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and hardness testing. The results showed that after plasma spraying, the grain size increased, and the lattice strain decreased. However, the grain size of this compound after spraying was still in the nanometer range. The coating was uniform and exhibited good adhesion to the substrate. | 4 | Assessment of land suitability and agricultural production sustainability using a combined approach (Fuzzy-AHP-GIS):A case study of Mazandaran province,Iran显示文摘This research was conducted to evaluate the sustainability of rice production using fuzzy logic in Mazandaran province,Iran.The untapped use of modern agricultural technology,such as agricultural machinery,has become a global dilemma,which has forced governments and environmentalists to take a serious stand against the dangers of massive non-standard agricultural practices in the environment.Three types of mechanization,socioeconomic,and economic modeling were used to determine the sustainability and their values were collected through interview method using a 320-item questionnaire from 2016 to 2018.Land evaluation was carried out using soil and climate characteristics,so that about 27.4%of the area was in the perfectly suitable range(S1),35.2%in the appropriate range(S2),19.5%in the critical range(S3),and 17.9%in the inappropriate range(N)for rice cultivation.Farmers were selected from two regions(R1 and R2)by the GIS on two lower levels and more than one hectare(A1,A2)according to agricultural methods(mechanical and traditional).The results showed that the highest and lowest means of the product were 4314.44 and 3501.95 kg ha1,respectively.The sustainability of production was within the range of“sustainability”and“almost sustainable”in terms of mechanistic and economic factors in the fuzzy range of“moderate sustainability”and also with respect to social factors that are in a better position than mechanistic and economic indicators.Results of final sustainability model showed that the average of the lasting sustainability index was in the range of“almost unsustainable”and“moderate sustainability”. | Sherwin Amini Abbas Rohani Mohammad Hossein Aghkhani Mohammad Hossein Abbaspour-Fard Mohammad Reza Asgharipour | 2020 | Information Processing in Agriculture2020,7,3: | 1 |

| 10 | Clinical, virologic and phylogenetic features of hepatitis B infection in Iranian patients显示文摘AIM: To characterize the clinical, serologic and virologic features of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in Iranian patients with different stages of liver disease. METHODS: Sixty two patients comprising of 12 inactive carriers, 30 chronic hepatitis patients, 13 patients with liver cirrhosis and 7 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) were enrolled in the study. The HBV S, C and basal core promoter (BCP) regions were amplified and sequenced, and the clinical, serologic, phylogenetic and virologic characteristics were investigated. RESULTS: The study group consisted of 16 HBeAg- positive and 46 HBeAg-negative patients. Anti-HBe- positive patients were older and had higher levels of ALT, ASL and bilirubin compared to HBeAg-positivepatients. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that all patients were infected with genotype D (mostly ayw2). The G1896A precore (PC) mutant was detected in 58.1% patients. HBeAg-negative patients showed a higher rate of PC mutant compared to HBeAg-positive patients (χ2 = 9.682, P = 0.003). The majority of patients with HCC were HBeAg-negative and were infected with PC mutant variants. There was no significant difference in the occurrence of BCP mutation between the two groups, while the rate of BCP plus PC mutants was higher in HBeAg-negative patients (χ2 = 4.308, P = 0.04). In the HBV S region, the genetic variability was low, and the marked substitution was P120T/S, with a rate of 9.7% (n = 6). | 11 | Ivermectin as an adjunct treatment for hospitalized adult COVID-19 patients: A randomized multi-center clinical trial显示文摘Objective: To evaluate different doses of ivermectin in adult patients with mild COVID-19 and to evaluate the effect of ivermectin on mortality and clinical consequences.Methods: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter clinical trial was performed at five hospitals. A total of 180 mild hospitalized patients with COVID-19 confirmed by PCR or chest image tests were enrolled and allocated to six arms including hydroxychloroquine 200 mg twice per day, placebo plus hydroxychloroquine 200 mg twice per day, single dose ivermectin(200 μg/kg), three low interval doses of ivermectin(200, 200, 200 μg/kg), single dose ivermectin(400 μg/kg), and three high interval doses of ivermectin(400, 200, 200 μg/kg). The primary endpoint of this trial was all-cause of mortality or clinical recovery. The radiographic findings, hospitalization and low O_2 saturation duration, and hematological variables of blood samples were analyzed. Results: A total of 16.7%(5/30) and 20.0%(6/30) patients died in arms treated with hydroxychloroquine 200 mg twice per day and placebo plus hydroxychloroquine 200 mg twice per day, respectively, and a reduction in mortality rate in patients receiving ivermectin treatment to 0%, 10%, 0% and 3.3% for arms 1-4 were observed. Risk of mortality was also decreased about 15% in the ivermectin treated arms. Conclusions: Ivermectin as an adjunct reduces the rate of mortality, time of low O_2 saturation, and duration of hospitalization in adult COVID-19 patients. | 13 | Why nanodiamond carriers manage to overcome drug resistance in cancer显示文摘Nanodiamonds represent an attractive potential carrier for anticancer drugs.The main advantages of nanodiamond particles with respect to medical applications are their high compatibility with non-cancerous cells,feasible surface decoration with therapeutic and cancer-cell targeting molecules,and their relatively low manufacturing cost.Additionally,nanodiamond carriers significantly increase treatment efficacy of the loaded drug,so anticancer drugs execute more effectively at a lower dose.Subsequently,lower drug dose results in less extensive side effects.The carriers decorated with a targeting molecule accumulate primarily in the tumor tissue,and those nanodiamond particles impair efflux of the drug from cancer cells.Therapeutic approaches considering nanodiamond carriers were already tested in vitro,as well as in vivo.Now,researchers focus particularly on the possible side effects of nanodiamond carriers applied systemically in vivo.The behavior of nanodiamond carriers depends heavily on their surface coatings,so each therapeutic complex must be evaluated separately.Generally,it seems that site-specific application of nanodiamond carriers is a rather safe therapeutic approach,but intravenous application needs further study.The benefits of nanodiamond carriers are remarkable and represent a potent approach to overcome the drug resistance of many cancers. | Veronika Benson Abbas Amini | 2020 | Cancer Drug Resistance2020,3,4: | 0 |
