| 1 | Pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis:A single center experience显示文摘AIM:To share our experience of the management and outcomes of patients with pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis (PCI).METHODS:The charts of seven patients who underwent surgery for PCI between 2001 and 2009 were reviewed retrospectively.Clinical features,diagnoses and surgical interventions of patients with PCI are discussed.RESULTS:Seven patients with PCI (3 males,4 females;mean age,50 ± 16.1 years;range,29-74 years) were analyzed.In three of the patients,abdominal pain was the only complaint,whereas additional vomiting and/or constipation occurred in four.Leukocytosis was detected in four patients,whereas it was within normal limits in three.Subdiaphragmatic free air was observed radiologically in four patients but not in three.Six of the patients underwent an applied laparotomy,whereas one underwent an applied explorative laparoscopy.PCI localized to the small intestine only was detected in four patients,whereas it was localized to the small intestine and the colon in three.Three patients underwent a partial small intestine resection and four did not after PCI was diagnosed.Five patients were diagnosed with secondary PCI and two with primary PCI when the surgical findings and medical history were assessed together.Gastric atony developed in one case only,as a complication during a postoperative follow-up of 5-14 d.CONCLUSION:Although rare,PCI should be considered in the differential diagnosis of acute abdomen.Diagnostic laparoscopy and preoperative radiological tests,including computed tomography,play an important role in confirming the diagnosis. | Zulfu Arikanoglu Erhan Aygen Cemalettin Camci Sami Akbulut Murat Basbug Osman Dogru Ziya Cetinkaya Cuneyt Kirkil | 2012 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2012，18，5： | 13 |
| 2 | Modified Helicobacter test using a new test meal and a 13C-urea breath test in Helicobacter pylori positive and negative dyspepsia patients on proton pump inhibitors显示文摘AIM To determine the sensitivity and specificity of the ^(13)C-urea breath test(UBT) in patients taking proton pump inhibitors(PPIs), using a new test meal Refex. METHODS One hundred and fourteen consecutive patients with dyspepsia, 53 Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) positive, 49 H. pylori negative, were included in the study. The patients were then given esomeprazole 40 mg for 29 consecutive days, and the ^(13)C-UBT with the new test meal was performed the next morning. RESULTS The sensitivity of the ^(13)C-UBT with a cut off 2.5‰ was92.45%(95%CI: 81.79%-97.91%) by per-protocol(PP) analysis and 78.13 %(95%CI: 66.03%-87.49%) by intention-to-treat(ITT) analysis. The specificity of the ^(13)C-UBT test was 96.00 % in the ITT population(95%CI: 86.29%-99.51%) and 97.96% in the PP population(95%CI: 89.15%-99.95%).CONCLUSION The new test meal based ^(13)C-UBT is highly accurate in patients on PPIs and can be used in those unable to stop their PPI treatment. | Bojan Tepes Peter Malfertheiner Joachim Labenz Sitke Aygen | 2017 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2017，23，32： | 5 |
| 3 | Lamivudine resistance mutations in patients infected with hepatitis B virus genotype D显示文摘AIM: To determine the distribution of viral genotypes for primary or acquired lamivudine resistance. METHODS: A total of 283 patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection (245 patients with chronic hepatitis B and 38 inactive hepatitis B surface antigen carriers) were included in the study. The HBV geno-type was determined by using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and sequence analysis, and tyrosine-methionine-aspartate-aspartate (YMDD) motif mutations were determined using the reverse transcriptase hybridization method. RESULTS: Lamivudine resistance was determined in a total of 25 (10.7%) chronic hepatitis B patients. Eight subjects (4%) had primary resistance to lamivudine, and 17 (53.1%) had secondary resistance to lamivudine. Genotype D, which was isolated from 267 of the patients with chronic HBV infection, was the dominant genotype in Turkey.
