| 1 | Optimization of suspension system of off-road vehicle for vehicle performance improvement显示文摘Vehicle suspension design includes a number of compromises to provide good leveling of stability and ride comfort. Optimization of off-road vehicle suspension system is one of the most effective methods, which could considerably enhance the vehicle stability and controllability. In this work, a comprehensive optimization of an off-read vehicle suspension system model was carried out using software ADAMS. The geometric parameters of suspension system were optimized using genetic algorithm (GA) in a way that ride comfort, handling and stability of vehicle were improved. The results of optimized suspension system and variations of geometric parameters due to road roughness and different steering angles were presented in ADAMS and the results of optimized and conventional suspension systems during various driving maneuvers were compared. The simulation results indicate that the camber angle variations decrease by the optimized suspension system, resulting in improved handling and ride comfort characteristics. | M. | 2 | Autonomous vehicles: challenges, opportunities, and future implications for transportation policies显示文摘This study investigates the challenges and opportunities pertaining to transportation policies that may arise as a result of emerging autonomous vehicle(AV)technologies. AV technologies can decrease the transportation cost and increase accessibility to low-income households and persons with mobility issues. This emerging technology also has far-reaching applications and implications beyond all current expectations. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the relevant literature and explores a broad spectrum of issues from safety to machine ethics. An indispensable part of a prospective AV development is communication over cars and infrastructure(connected vehicles). A major knowledge gap exists in AVtechnology with respect to routing behaviors. Connectedvehicle technology provides a great opportunity to implement an efficient and intelligent routing system. To this end, we propose a conceptual navigation model based on a fleet of AVs that are centrally dispatched over a network seeking system optimization. | 3 | Effects of rainfall patterns on runoff and rainfall-induced erosion显示文摘Rainfall-induced erosion involves the detachment of soil particles by raindrop impact and their transport by the combined action of the shallow surface runoff and raindrop impact.Although temporal variation in rainfall intensity(pattern)during natural rainstorms is a common phenomenon,the available information is inadequate to understand its effects on runoff and rainfall-induced erosion processes.To address this issue,four simulated rainfall patterns(constant,increasing,decreasing,and increasing-decreasing)with the same total kinetic energy were designed.Two soil types(sandy and sandy loam)were subjected to simulated rainfall using 15 cm×30 cm long detachment trays under infiltration conditions.For each simulation,runoff and sediment concentration were sampled at regular intervals.No obvious difference was observed in runoff across the two soil types,but there were significant differences in soil losses among the different rainfall patterns and stages.For varying-intensity rainfall patterns,the dominant sediment transport mechanism was not only influenced by raindrop detachment but also was affected by raindrop-induced shallow flow transport.Moreover,the efficiency of equations that predict the interrill erosion rate increased when the integrated raindrop impact and surface runoff rate were applied.Although the processes of interrill erosion are complex,the findings in this study may provide useful insight for developing models that predict the effects of rainfall pattern on runoff and erosion. | Morteza Alavinia Farzin Nasiri Saleh Hossain Asadi | 2019 | International Journal of Sediment Research2019,34,3: | 9 |
| 4 | Using Kalman filter algorithm for short-term traffic flow prediction in a connected vehicle environment显示文摘We develop a Kalman filter for predicting traffic flow at urban arterials based on data obtained from con-nected vehicles. The proposed algorithm is computationally efficient and offers a real-time prediction since it invokes the connected vehicle data just before the prediction period. Moreover, it can predict the traffic flow for various pene-tration rates of connected vehicles (the ratio of the number of connected vehicles to the total number of vehicles). At first, the Kalman filter equations are calibrated using data derived from Vissim traffic simulator for different penetra-tion rates, different fluctuating arrival rates of vehicles and various signal settings. Then the filter is evaluated for a variety of traffic scenarios generated in Vissim simulator. We evaluate the performance of the algorithm for different penetration rates under several traffic situations using some statistical measures. | 5 | Tempering Behavior of 4.5Cr-2W-0.25V Steel显示文摘The tempering behavior of a Cr-W-V steel was investigated in this research.This new alloy with the composition of Fe-4.5Cr-2W-0.25V-0.1C was austenitized at 1000 ℃ for 30 min and tempered at 600 and 700 ℃ for different time up to 100 h.An OM analysis of the microstructure of air cooled and water quenched specimens before tempering showed that although under both conditions fully martensitic matrix formed,finer structure had formed in the water quenched specimens.The XRD and TEM results showed that the most stable carbides formed during tempering of the steel were M23C6 and M7C3,respectively.Other carbides such as M3C and M2C,formed in the first stages of tempering,and stable MC were also observed.The results showed that when the tempering time,temperature and cooling rate were increased,mass percent of extracted precipitates was increased.In addition,the formation rate of the stable carbides such as M23C6 and dissolution rate of the metastable carbides such as M3C and M2C were increased. | Mohsen Asadi Asadabad Shahram Kheirandish Abdul Javad Novinrooz | 2010 | Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2010,17,10: | 5 |

| 8 | Application of Rice Husk Biochar for Achieving Sustainable Agriculture and Environment显示文摘This paper critically reviewed the current knowledge and challenges of rice husk biochar(RHB)production and its effects on soil properties,plant growth,immobilization of heavy metals,reduction of nutrient leaching and mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions.The characteristics of RHBs produced at various pyrolysis temperatures were discussed and compared to biochars derived from other agro-industrial wastes.RHBs produced at higher pyrolysis temperatures show lower hydrogen/carbon ratio,which suggests the presence of higher aromatic carbon compounds.The increase of pyrolysis temperature also results in production of RHBs with higher ash content,lower yield and higher surface area.RHB usually has higher silicon and ash contents and lower carbon content compared to biochars derived from other feedstocks at the same pyrolysis conditions.Although it depends on soil type,RHB application can improve soil organic carbon content,cation exchange capacity,available K concentration,bulk density and microbial activity.The effect of RHB on soil aggregation mainly depends on soil texture.The growth of different crops is also enhanced by application of RHB.RHB addition to soil can immobilize heavy metals and herbicides and reduce their bioavailability.RHB application shows a significant capacity in reduction of nitrate leaching,although its magnitude depends on the biochar application rate and soil biogeochemical characteristics.Use of RHB,especially in paddy fields,shows a promising mitigation effect on greenhouse gas(CH4,CO2 and N2O)emissions.Although RHB characteristics are also related to other factors such as pyrolysis heating rate and residence time,its performance for specific applications(e.g.carbon sequestration,pH amendment)can be manipulated by adjusting the pyrolysis temperature.More research is needed on long-term field applications of RHB to fully understand the advantages and disadvantages of RHB as a soil amendment. | Hossein Asadi Mohammad Ghorbani Mehran Rezaei-Rashti Sepideh Abrishamkesh Elnaz Amirahmadi Chen Chengrong Manouchehr Gorji | 2021 | Rice science2021,28,4: | 4 |
| 9 | Analytical study of care quality and moral distress in clinical situations and patient care显示文摘Objective: Nursing profession conventionally meets a high standard of ethical behavior and action. One of the ethical challenges in nursing profession is moral distress. Nurses frequently expose to this phenomenon which leads to different consequences such as being bored by delivering patient care that decline care quality and make it challenging to achieve health purposes. This study was conducted to investigate the association between the aspects of moral distress and care quality.Methods: In this descriptive–analytical study, 545 nurses of intensive and cardiac care units and dialysis and psychiatric wards were recruited by census sampling. Three questionnaires, Sociodemographics, Moral Distress Scale, and Quality Patient Care Scale, were distributed among the participants and collected within 9 months. Data analysis was conducted by descriptive statistics, analysis of variance, and the least significant difference in SPSS 13.Results: Investigating moral distress domains(ignoring patient, decision-making power, and professional competence) and care quality domains(psychosocial, physical, and communicational) demonstrated that in being exposed to moral distress, ignoring patient had no effect on psychosocial domain(P=0.056), but decision-making and professional competence of moral distress had positive effect on psychosocial, physical(bodily), and communication domains of care quality.Conclusions: Because moral distress domains are effective on patient care quality, it is recommended to enhance the knowledge of nurses, especially beginners, about moral distress, increase their strength alongside standardizing nursing services in decisionmaking domains, improve the professional competence, and pay attention to patients. | Masoumeh Hasanlo Arezo Azarm Parvaneh Asadi Kourosh Amini Hossein Ebrahimi Mohammad Asghari Jafarabadi | 2019 | Frontiers of Nursing2019,6,4: | 3 |
| 10 | Rice (Oryza sativa L.) nutrient management using mycorrhizal fungi and endophytic Herbaspirillum seropedicae显示文摘Integrated nutrient management with biological and chemical fertilizers can improve rice(Oryza sativa L.) productivity, bio-fortification, soil health and fertility. Accordingly, this study was planned to evaluate the combined effects of biological fertilizers including arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM) fungi(Glomus mosseae) and free-living nitrogen-fixing bacteria(Herbaspirillum seropedicae), as well as chemical fertilizers on the yield and nutrient contents of wetland rice under field conditions. Seedlings were inoculated with AM fungi and the bacteria in the nursery and were then transplanted to the field. The experiment was carried out as a split factorial design with three replicates. Treatments included three rates of nitrogen(N1, N2 and N3) and phosphorous(P1, P2 and P3) fertilizers(100, 75 and 50% of the optimum level) in the main plots and mycorrhizal and bacterial treatments in the sub plots. The total of urea(g) used per plot was equal to N1=200, N2=150 and N3=100 at three different growth stages(seeding, tillering and heading) and the total of P(g) per plot used once at seeding using triple super phosphate including P1=16, P2=13 and P3=10. Plant growth and yield as well as the concentration of nitrogen(N), phosphorous(P), potassium(K), iron(Fe), and zinc(Zn) were measured in the soil, straw and grains. N-fertilizer and biological fertilizers had significant effects on root, shoot and grain yield of rice, however, P-fertilizer just significantly affected root and shoot dry weights. Interestingly, analyses of variance indicated that biological fertilization significantly affected all the experimental treatments except straw N. AM fungi, N1 and P1 resulted in the highest rate of rice growth and yield. The interactions of chemical and biological fertilization resulted in significant effects on grain Zn, Fe, P, and N as well as soil Fe, K and N. The highest rate of grain nutrient uptake was resulted by the combined use of biological fertilization and the medium level of chemical fertilization. Interestingly, with decreasing the rate of chemical N fertilization, rice nutrient use efficiency increased indicating how biological fertilization can be efficient in providing plants with its essential nutrients such as N. However, the highest rate of soil and straw nutrient concentration was related to the combined use of biologicalfertilization and the highest rate of chemical fertilization. | 13 | Calculation of dpa rate in graphite box of Tehran Research Reactor(TRR)显示文摘Radiation damage is an important factor that must be considered while designing nuclear facilities and nuclear materials. In this study, radiation damage is investigated in graphite, which is used as a neutron reflector in the Tehran Research Reactor (TRR) core. Radiation damage is shown by displacement per atom (dpa) unit. A cross section of the material was created by using the SPECOMP code. The concentration of impurities present in the non-irradiated graphite was measured by using the ICP-AES method. In the present study the MCNPX code had identified the most sensitive location for radiation damage inside the reactor core. Subsequently, the radiation damage (spectral-averaged dpa values) in the aforementioned location was calculated by using the SPECTER, SRIM Monte Carlo codes, and Norgett, Robinson and Torrens (NRT) model. The results of “Ion Distribution and Quick Calculation of Damage”(QD) method groups had a minor difference with the results of the SPECTER code and NRT model. The maximum radiation damage rate calculated for the graphite present in the TRR core was 1.567 9 10^-8 dpa/s. | 15 | Lighting preferences in office spaces concerning the indoor thermal environment显示文摘The accurate prediction of the visual comfort zone in an indoor environment is difficult as it depends on many parameters.This is especially the case for large compact urban areas in which the density and shadow from neighboring buildings can limit the accessible daylighting in indoor spaces.This paper investigates the satisfaction range for illuminance regarding indoor air temperature in office buildings and the significant parameters affecting this range in six office buildings in Tehran,Iran.Lighting comfort has been evaluated by a subjective survey(509 total responses)and field measurement.The questionnaires were filled out in 146 and 109 rooms in summer and winter,respectively.The results show that the illuminance should not be less than 550 lx,while illuminance between 600 and 650 lx provides the highest satisfaction level.The satisfaction with lighting level is affected by individual parameters such as age,type of activity,and environmental parameters such as window orientation,external obscurations,and season.A relationship was observed between lighting level satisfaction and thermal condition acceptance,and the overall comfort depends more on thermal conditions than the lighting level. | Maryam Fakhari Rima Fayaz Somayeh Asadi | 2021 | Frontiers of Architectural Research2021,10,3: | 2 |
