| 1 | Emergency admissions due to swallowed foreign bodies in adults显示文摘AIM:To study a retrospective analysis of patients who presented to the emergency departments(ED)with complaints related to foreign body ingestions.METHODS:Patients older than 16 years of age who presented to the ED between January 1stand December 31stof 2010 with complaints related to swallowed foreign bodies were identified from electronic health records and patient charts.RESULTS:A total of 100 patients presented with a complaint of foreign body ingestion during the study period.Overall,an X-ray was performed on 75 patients,and a fiberoptic evaluation was performed on45 patients.A foreign body was detected in 46(46%)patients.The diagnostic yield of the X-ray was 27(36%)out of 75 patients,while the diagnostic yield of the fiberoptic evaluations was 21(47%)out of 45 patients.The detected foreign bodies were mostly located in the esophagus(17 out of 46 foreign bodies detected).When the types of ingested foreign bodies were evaluated,52(52%)patients reported ingesting food,and19(19%)patients reported swallowing pins.An X-ray was performed on 33 patients with accidental food ingestions but yielded a positive result in only two cases.In 12 out of 21 patients with accidental food ingestion who underwent fiberoptic evaluation,the foreign material was detected and removed.CONCLUSION:Plain radiography is helpful in the localization of radiopaque swollen foreign bodies,while fiberoptic methods are useful as both diagnostic and therapeutic tools,regardless of radiopacity. | Bülent Erbil Mehmet Ali Karaca Mehmet Ali Aslaner Zaur Ibrahimov Mehmet Mahir Kunt Erhan Akpinar Mehmet Mahir zmen | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013，19，38： | 11 |

| 5 | Clinical outcomes with a new microincisional diffractive multifocal IOL显示文摘Background:To evaluate the refractive outcomes and the optical performance as well as the quality of life in patients implanted with a new diffractive multifocal intraocular lens(IOL).Methods:Prospective,clinical study including 41 cases of patients who underwent cataract surgery and were divided in two groups:group 1,including 20 eyes implanted with the multifocal IOL SeeLens MF(Hanita Lenses,Israel);group 2,21 eyes implanted with the Acrysof SA60AT IOL.Visual acuity,defocus curve,intraocular aberrations,contrast sensitivity function and quality of life were assessed during a follow up period of 6 months.Results:Significant improvement was observed in the uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA)and corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA)in both groups(p<0.02).The multifocal group showed better results in terms of uncorrected near visual acuity(UNVA)and distance-corrected near visual acuity(DCNVA)(p<0.01).Comparison of both groups showed better visual acuities for the multifocal IOL group in defocus levels from-3.0 D to-1.50 D(p≤0.01).At 6 months,there was a significant reduction of the internal higher order aberrations(p≤0.04).A significant increase in scotopic contrast sensitivity was detected for 6 cycles/°spatial frequency during follow up(p=0.04),but no significant changes were observed for the rest of spatial frequencies(p≥0.06).Visual Functioning Index(VF-14)questionnaire showed that patients reported high levels of satisfaction when performing daily tasks.Conclusions:The SeeLens MF IOL is able to successfully restore distance,near and intermediate visions after cataract surgery.It also provides functional intermediate vision with optimal intraocular optical quality. | Jorge L Alió Alfredo Vega-Estrada Ana B Plaza-Puche | 2015 | Eye and Vision2015，2，1： | 3 |
| 6 | In vitro effect of pantoprazole on lower esophageal sphincter tone in rats显示文摘AIM:To investigate the in vitro effects of pantoprazole on rat lower esophageal sphincter(LES)tone.METHODS:Rats weighing 250-300 g,provided by the Yeditepe University Experimental Research Center(Yü-DETAM),were used throughout the study.They were anesthetized before decapitation.LES tissues whose mucosal lining were removed were placed in a stan-dard 30-mL organ bath with a modif ied Krebs solution and continuously aerated with 95% oxygen-5% carbon dioxide gas mixture and kept at room temperature.The tissues were allowed to stabilize for 60 min.Sub-sequently,the contractile response to 10-6 mol/L carba-chol was obtained.Different concentrations of freshly prepared pantoprazole were added directly to the tis-sue bath to generate cumulative concentrations of 5×10-6 mol/L,5×10-5 mol/L,and 1.5×10-4 mol/L.Activi-ties were recorded on an online computer via a 4-channeltransducer data acquisition system using the software BSL PRO v 3.7,which also analyzed the data.RESULTS:Pantoprazole at 5×10-6 mol/L caused a small,but statistically insignif icant,relaxation in the car-bachol-contracted LES(2.23% vs 3.95%).The 5×10-5 mol/L concentration,however,caused a signif icant relax-ation of 10.47% compared with the control.1.5×10-4 mol/L concentration of pantoprazol caused a 19.89% relaxation in the carbachol contracted LES(P<0.001).CONCLUSION:This is the fi rst study to demonstrate that pantoprazole has a relaxing effect in isolated LESs.These results might have signif icant clinical implications for the subset of patients using proton pump inhibitors who do not receive full symptomatic alleviation from gastroesophageal reflux disease. | Mustafa Duman Mahmut zer Enver Rean Yeliz Demirci Ali E Atιcι Tahsin Dalgι Erdal B Bostancι Ece Gen | 2011 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2011，17，46： | 3 |
| 7 | In vivo printing of growth factor-eluting adhesive scaffolds improves wound healing显示文摘Acute and chronic wounds affect millions of people around the world,imposing a growing financial burden on patients and hospitals.Despite the application of current wound management strategies,the physiological healing process is disrupted in many cases,resulting in impaired wound healing.Therefore,more efficient and easy-to-use treatment modalities are needed.In this study,we demonstrate the benefit of in vivo printed,growth factor-eluting adhesive scaffolds for the treatment of full-thickness wounds in a porcine model.A custom-made handheld printer is implemented to finely print gelatin-methacryloyl(GelMA)hydrogel containing vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)into the wounds.In vitro and in vivo results show that the in situ GelMA crosslinking induces a strong scaffold adhesion and enables printing on curved surfaces of wet tissues,without the need for any sutures.The scaffold is further shown to offer a sustained release of VEGF,enhancing the migration of endothelial cells in vitro.Histological analyses demonstrate that the administration of the VEGF-eluting GelMA scaffolds that remain adherent to the wound bed significantly improves the quality of healing in porcine wounds.The introduced in vivo printing strategy for wound healing applications is translational and convenient to use in any place,such as an operating room,and does not require expensive bioprinters or imaging modalities. | Kristo Nuutila Mohamadmahdi Samandari Yori Endo Yuteng Zhang Jacob Quint Tannin ASchmidt b Ali Tamayol Indranil Sinha | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022，7，2： | 3 |
| 8 | Blastocystis in ulcerative colitis patients:Genetic diversity and analysis of laboratory findings显示文摘Objective:To determine Blastocystis frequency and subtypes(ST) in ulcerative colitis(UC) patients and analyse some laboratory findings between Blastocystis positive and negative cases.Methods:Faecal samples from 150 UC patients in Adnan Menderes University,Training and Research Hospital were examined by direct microscopy and cultivated in Jones medium.Blastocystis positive cultures were subjected to DNA isolation and subtypes were identified by sequencing of barcode region.A retrospective analysis was conducted on C reactive protein(CRP),leukocyte counts(WBC),neutrophil counts,and sedimentation rates.Results:The overall positive rate of Blastocystis was 8%(12 patients) and the most abundant subtype was ST3(eight isolates,66.7%),followed by ST1,ST2 and ST7.Laboratory findings between Blastocystis infected and non-infected UC patients were not significantly different.Blastocystisfrequency was 3.8% among the patients in active stage,while it was 11.8% among the patients in remission stage.Conclusions:The present study confirms previous findings that have indicated the predominance of Blastocystis ST3 in humans and contributes additional evidence that suggests the low colonization of Blastocystis infection in ulcerative colitis patients during active stage. | Adil Coskun Erdogan Malatyali Hatice Ertabaklar Mustafa B Yasar Ali O Karaoglu Sema Ertug | 2016 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2016，9，9： | 3 |

combinations are proposed where necessary to improve our traditional species concepts and provide updates on their classification.In addition to extensive morphological descriptions and appropriate asexual and sexual connections,DNA sequence data are also analysed from concatenated datasets(rDNA,TEF-a,RBP2 and b-Tubulin)to infer phylogenetic relationships and substantiate systematic position of taxa within appropriate ranks.Wherever new species or combinations are being proposed,we apply an integrative approach(morphological and molecular data as well as ecological features wherever applicable).Notes on 125 fungal taxa are compiled in this paper,including eight new genera,101 new species,two new combinations,one neotype,four reference specimens,new host or distribution records for eight species and one alternative morphs.The new genera introduced in this paper are Alloarthopyrenia,Arundellina,Camarosporioides,Neomassaria,Neomassarina,Neotruncatella,Paracapsulospora and
