1气候变化、土地利用/覆被变化及CO_2浓度升高对滦河流域径流的影响显示文摘在构建分布式水文模型与生物地球化学模型的耦合模型(DTVGM-CASACNP)及应用元胞自动机-马尔科夫(CA-Markov)土地利用预测模型基础上,以滦河流域为例分析气候变化、土地利用/覆被变化(LUCC)及CO2浓度升高对径流的影响。研究结果表明:DTVGM-CASACNP耦合模型以及CA-Markov模型在滦河流域均具有较好的适用性;气候变化与土地利用/植被覆盖变化对滦河流域径流的影响较CO2浓度升高的影响程度大;未来不同情景下滦河流域2020—2049年径流呈减小趋势,大部分情景下年径流较基准年减少,与非汛期相比,滦河流域未来汛期径流对不同情景更敏感,总体上在汛期径流相对基准年减少,而在非汛期径流相对基准年增加。曾思栋 夏军 杜鸿 张利平 陈向东 王任超 ADITYA Sood 2014水科学进展2014,25,1:20
2Hybrid graphene metasurfaces for highspeed mid-infrared light modulation and single-pixel imaging显示文摘During the past decades,major advances have been made in both the generation and detection of infrared light;however,its efficient wavefront manipulation and information processing still encounter great challenges.Efficient and fast optoelectronic modulators and spatial light modulators are required for mid-infrared imaging,sensing,security screening,communication and navigation,to name a few.However,their development remains elusive,and prevailing methods reported so far have suffered from drawbacks that significantly limit their practical applications.In this study,by leveraging graphene and metasurfaces,we demonstrate a high-performance free-space mid-infrared modulator operating at gigahertz speeds,low gate voltage and room temperature.We further pixelate the hybrid graphene metasurface to form a prototype spatial light modulator for high frame rate single-pixel imaging,suggesting orders of magnitude improvement over conventional liquid crystal or micromirror-based spatial light modulators.This work opens up the possibility of exploring wavefront engineering for infrared technologies for which fast temporal and spatial modulations are indispensable.Beibei Zeng Zhiqin Huang Akhilesh Singh Yu Yao Abul K.Azad Aditya D.Mohite Antoinette J.Taylor David R.Smith Hou-Tong Chen 2018Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1:13

6Efficacy of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation in treatmentresistant depression:the evidence thus far显示文摘Depression is a common mental disorder, which attributes to significant morbidity, disability and burden of care. A significant number of patients with depression still remain symptomatic after adequate trials of antidepressant treatment as well as psychotherapy, which is often referred to as treatment-resistant depression. Neuromodulation techniques—like electroconvulsive therapy, vagus nerve stimulation, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation, may be useful augmenting techniques in depression, mostly recommended for treatment-resistant cases. Robust evidence exists regarding the efficacy of electroconvulsive therapy in the management of treatment-resistant depression;however, other techniques are understudied. TMS has been increasingly studied in various psychiatric disorders including depression. It has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for use in major depressive disorder. Over the past two decades, TMS has been studied in diverse groups of the population with depression using several research designs. 7Supplementation of grape pomace(Vitis vinifera) in broiler diets and its effect on growth performance, apparent total tract digestibility of nutrients,blood profile,and meat quality显示文摘This experiment was conducted to explore the efficacy of grape pomace(Vitis vinifera) on growth performance, apparent total tract digestibility of nutrients, blood profile, and meat quality in commercial broilers.Four hundred broiler chicks(3-d-old) were randomly allotted to 4 dietary treatments for 28 d.Each treatment had 5 replicates with 20 birds per replicate.The dietary treatments were 1) control, 2)5 g/kg grape pomace(GP), 3) 7.5 g/kg GP, and 4) 10 g/kg GP supplemented in diets after drying.Supplementation of GP did not show linear effects(P > 0.05) on body weight(BW) gain, however, quadratic effects(P < 0.05) on BW gain were observed during d 0 to 7 and d 8 to 14.Body weight gain, feed intake,and feed conversion ratio remained unaffected during d 22 to 28 and overall period.The nutrient digestibility studies conducted at the end of the feeding trial did not show(P > 0.05) any effect due to GP supplementation, except a quadratic trend(P=0.07) for digestibility of ash was observed.Serum levels of glucose, triglyceride, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol were not affected(P > 0.05), however,total cholesterol and serum immunoglobulin G levels showed quadratic effects(P < 0.05) due to GP supplementation.The thio-barbituric acid reactive substances values in breast meat linearly decreased(P < 0.01) in supplemented groups at 0, 5, and 10 d of storage showing linear effects due to GP supplementation, and quadratic effects were also observed at 5 and 10 d of storage.The meat color value such as redness was also decreased(P < 0.05) in supplemented groups showing both linear and quadratic effects.Overall, it could be concluded that GP supplementation showed quadratic effects on BW gain during early growth stages and was effective in reducing serum cholesterol level and improving meat quality parameters in broilers.Siska Aditya Sang-Jip Ohh Musabbir Ahammed Jayant Lohakare 2018Animal Nutrition2018,,2:9
8Silicon and silicon nitride photonic circuits for spectroscopic sensing on-a-chip [Invited]显示文摘There is a rapidly growing demand to use silicon and silicon nitride(Si3N4) integrated photonics for sensing applications, ranging from refractive index to spectroscopic sensing. By making use of advanced CMOS technology,complex miniaturized circuits can be easily realized on a large scale and at a low cost covering visible to mid-IR wavelengths. In this paper we present our recent work on the development of silicon and Si3N4-based photonic integrated circuits for various spectroscopic sensing applications. We report our findings on waveguide-based absorption, and Raman and surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy. 9Pre-treatment of rocks prior to comminution--A critical review of present practices显示文摘It has been an established fact that comminution processes, crushing and grinding, are most energy intensive processes which account for more than half of the total energy consumed in mineral industries.Various alternative pre-treatment methods have been tried by experts around the globe. Although these methods yielded positive results in terms of reduction in energy consumption in crushing and particularly, in grinding operations at laboratory scale, their industrial application still remains an unresolved issue and challenge. 10An analytical solution to wellbore stability using Mogi-Coulomb failure criterion显示文摘Deep wellbores/boreholes are generally drilled into rocks for oil and gas exploration,monitoring of tectonic stresses purposes.Wellbore and tunnel in depth are generally in true triaxial stress state,even if the ground is under axisymmetric loading condition.Stability of such wellbores is very critical and collapse of wellbore must be avoided.Mogi-Coulomb failure criterion is a better representation of rock strength under true triaxial condition.In this paper,an analytical solution is proposed using Mogi-Coulomb failure criterion.The solution is obtained for rock mass exhibiting elastic-perfectly plastic or elastic-brittle-plastic behaviour considering in-plane isotropic stresses.The proposed solution is then compared with exact analytical solution for incompressible material and experimental results of thickwall cylinder.It is shown that the results obtained by the proposed analytical solution are in good agreement with the experimental results and exact analytical solution.A reduction of about 13%e20%in plastic zone from the proposed closed-form solution is observed,as compared to the results from the finite element method(FEM)based Mohr-Coulomb criterion.Next,the influences of various parameters such as Poisson’s ratio,internal pressure(mud weight),dilation angle,and out-of-plane stress are studied in terms of stress and deformation responses of wellbore.The results of the parametric study reveal that variation in the out-of-plane stress has an inverse relation with the radius of plastic zone.Poisson’s ratio does not have an appreciable influence on the tangential stress,radial stress and radial deformation.Dilation angle has a direct relation with the deformation.Internal pressure is found to have an inverse relation with the radial deformation and the radius of plastic zone.Aditya Singh K.Seshagiri Rao Ramanathan Ayothiraman 2019Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2019,11,6:6

12Analysis of structural behavior during collision event accounting for bow and side structure interaction显示文摘The main goal of this study was to investigate the effects of selected ship collision parameter values on the characteristics of the absorbed energy in several ship collision scenarios.Non-linear simulations were performed using a finite element method(FEM)to obtain virtual experiment data.In the present research,the size of the side damage from a collision phenomenon were measured and used to verify the numerical configuration together with the calculation results using an empirical equation.Parameters in the external dynamics of a ship collision such as the location of the contact point and velocity of the striking ship were taken into consideration.The internal energy and deformation size on the side structure were discussed further in a comparative study.The effects of the selected parameters on several structural behaviors,namely energy,force,and damage extent were also observed and evaluated in this section.Stiffener on side hull was found to contribute significantly into resistance capability of the target ship against penetration of the striking bow.Remarkable force during penetration was observed to occur when inner shell was crushed as certain velocity was applied in the striking bow.Aditya Rio Prabowo Dong Myung Bae Jung Min Sohn Ahmad Fauzan Zakki Bo Cao Qing Wang 2017Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters2017,7,1:5
13Dyslipidemia management in primary prevention of cardiovascular disease:Current guidelines and strategies显示文摘Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. In 2010, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated that $444 billion was spent on cardiovascular diseases alone, about $1 of every $6 spent on health care. As life expectancy continues to increase, this annual cost will also increase, making costeffective primary prevention of cardiovascular disease highly desirable. Because of its role in development of atherosclerosis and clinical events, dyslipidemia management is a high priority in cardiovascular prevention. Multiple major dyslipidemia guidelines have been published around the world recently, four of them by independent organizations in the United States alone. They share the goal of providing clinical guidance on optimal dyslipidemia management, but guidelines differ in their emphasis on pharmacotherapy, stratification of groups, emphasis on lifestyle modification, and use of a fixed target or percentage reduction in low density lipoprotein cholesterol. This review summarizes eight major guidelines for dyslipidemia management and considers the basis for their recommendations. 14Erlotinib usage after prior treatment with gefitinib in advanced non-small cell lung cancer: A clinical perspective and review of published literature显示文摘Erlotinib and gefitinib are among the most widely researched, used and available molecularly targeted therapies for treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC). They are both tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs) of the epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR). In the past decade, there have been reports on clinical benefit from use of erlotinib after gefitinib failure in NSCLC patients. A review of published literature on this focussed topic is provided herein. Pooled analysis of published literature shows that majority of patients were female(60.6%), non-smokers(64.5%), had adenocarcinoma histology(88.3%) and were of East Asian ethnicity(92.3%). Presence of sensitizing EGFR mutation was detected in 48.4% of subjects. Disease control rates with prior gefitinib therapy and with subsequent erlotinib treatment were 79.4% and 45.4% respectively. Based upon our review, the most important predictive factor for clinical benefit from erlotinib identified was previous response to gefitinib. 16Computational fluid dynamics simulation on the longwall gob breathing显示文摘In longwall mines, atmospheric pressure fluctuations can disturb the pressure balance between the gob and the ventilated working area, resulting in a phenomenon known as ‘‘gob breathing'. Gob breathing triggers gas flows across the gob and the working areas and may result in a condition where an oxygen deficient mixture or a methane accumulation in the gob flows into the face area. Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFDs) modeling was carried out to analyze this phenomenon and its impact on the development of an explosive mixture in a bleeder-ventilated panel scheme. Simulation results indicate that the outgassing and ingassing across the gob and the formation of Explosive Gas Zones(EGZs) are directly affected by atmospheric pressure changes. In the location where methane zones interface with mine air, EGZ fringes may form along the face and in the bleeder entries. 18Optimal design of hybrid wind/photovoltaic electrolyzer for maximum hydrogen production using imperialist competitive algorithm显示文摘The rising demand for high-density power storage systems such as hydrogen,combined with renewable power production systems,has led to the design of optimal power production and storage systems.In this study,a wind and photovoltaic(PV)hybrid electrolyzer system,which maximizes the hydrogen production for a diurnal operation of the system,is designed and simulated.The operation of the system is optimized using imperialist competitive algorithm(ICA).The objective of this optimization is to combine the PV array and wind turbine(WT)in a way that,for minimized average excess power generation,maximum hydrogen would be produced.Actual meteorological data of Miami is used for simulations.A framework of the advanced alkaline electrolyzer with the detailed electrochemical model is used.This optimal system comprises a PV module with a power of 7.9 kW and a WT module with a power of 11 kW.The rate of hydrogen production is 0.0192 mol/s;an average Faraday efficiency of 86.9 percent.The electrolyzer works with 53.7 percent of its nominal power.The availability of the wind for longer periods of time reflects the greater contribution of WT in comparison with PV towards the overall throughput of the system.Arash KHALILNEJAD Aditya SUNDARARAJAN Arif I.SARWAT 2018Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2018,6,1:4
19Adult mouse model of early hepatocellular carcinoma promoted by alcoholic liver disease显示文摘AIM: To establish a mouse model of alcohol-driven hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) that develops in livers with alcoholic liver disease(ALD).METHODS: Adult C57BL/6 male mice received multiple doses of chemical carcinogen diethyl nitrosamine(DEN) followed by 7 wk of 4% Lieber-De Carli diet. Serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT), alpha fetoprotein(AFP) and liver Cyp2e1 were assessed. Expression of F4/80, CD68 for macrophages and Ly6 G, MPO, E-selectin for neutrophils was measured. Macrophage polarization was determined by IL-1β/i NOS(M1) and Arg-1/IL-10/CD163/CD206(M2) expression. Liver steatosis and fibrosis were measured by oil-red-O and Sirius red staining respectively. HCC development was monitored by magnetic resonance imaging, confirmed by histology. Cellular proliferation was assessed by proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA).RESULTS: Alcohol-DEN mice showed higher ALTs than pair fed- DEN mice throughout the alcohol feeding without weight gain. Alcohol feeding resulted in increased ALT, liver steatosis and inflammation compared to pair-fed controls. Alcohol-DEN mice had reduced steatosis and increased fibrosis indicatingadvanced liver disease. Molecular characterization showed high estlevels of both neutrophil and macrophage markers in alcohol-DEN livers. Importantly, M 2 macrophages were edominantly higher in alcohol-DEN livers. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed increased numbers of intrahepatic cysts and liver histology confirmed the presence of early HCC in alcohol-DEN mice compared to al l other groups. This correlated with increased serum alphafetoprotein, a marker of HCC, in alcohol-DEN mice. 20Fear of missing out: A brief overview of origin, theoretical underpinnings and relationship with mental health显示文摘Fear of missing out(FoMO)is a unique term introduced in 2004 to describe a phenomenon observed on social networking sites.FoMO includes two processes;firstly,perception of missing out,followed up with a compulsive behavior to maintain these social connections.We are interested in understanding the complex construct of FoMO and its relations to the need to belong and form stable interpersonal relationships.It is associated with a range of negative life experiences and feelings,due to it being considered a problematic attachment to social media.We have provided a general review of the literature and have summarized the findings in relation to mental health,social functioning,sleep,academic performance and productivity,neuro-developmental disorders,and physical well-being.We have also discussed the treatment options available for FoMo based on cognitive behavior therapy.It imperative that new findings on FoMO are communicated to the clinical community as it has diagnostic implications and could be a confounding variable in those who do not respond to treatment as usual.Mayank Gupta Aditya Sharma 2021World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,19:4
