5Some open problems in granular matter mechanics显示文摘Granular matter is a large assemblage of solid particles, which is fundamentally different from any other type of matters, such as solid and liquid. Most models presented for granular matter are phenomenological and are only suitable for solving engineering problems. Many fundamental mechanical problems remain open. By analyzing characteristics of internal state structure, we propose that granular matter is intrinsically multiscale, i.e. microscale of particle size, mesoscale of force chain, and macroscale of the bulk of granular matter. The correlations among difference scales would be crucial. The mesoscale force chain network is determined by both particle properties and macroscopic boundary conditions. The evolution of the force the chain network contributes to macroscopic mechanical properties of granular matter. In addition, we discuss the drawbacks in simplifying contact forces in the current models, and the difficulties in analyzing the interaction of interstitial fluid in wet granular matter. 7A review on completing arsenic biogeochemical cycle: Microbial volatilization of arsines in environment显示文摘Arsenic(As) is ubiquitous in the environment in the carcinogenic inorganic forms, posing risks to human health in many parts of the world. Many microorganisms have evolved a series of mechanisms to cope with inorganic arsenic in their growth media such as transforming As compounds into volatile derivatives. Bio-volatilization of As has been suggested to play an important role in global As biogeochemical cycling, and can also be explored as a potential method for arsenic bioremediation. This review aims to provide an overview of the quality and quantity of As volatilization by fungi, bacteria, microalga and protozoans. Arsenic bio-volatilization is influenced by both biotic and abiotic factors that can be manipulated/elucidated for the purpose of As bioremediation. 8Surgical outcome of carcinosarcoma of the gall bladder:A review显示文摘Carcinosarcoma,which comprises less than one percent of all gall bladder neoplasms,is characterized by the presence of variable proportions of carcinomatous and sarcomatous elements.Recently,several reports have described patients suffering from carcinosarcoma of the gall bladder.However,there are no large studies regarding the clinicopathologic features,therapeutic management,and surgical outcome of this disease because the number of patients who undergo resection of gall bladder carcinosarcoma at a single institution is limited.A Medline search was performed using the keywords 'gall bladder' and 'carcinosarcoma'.Additional articles were obtained from references within the papers identified by the Medline search.Optimal adjuvant chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy protocols for carcinosarcoma of the gall bladder have not been established.Curative surgical resection offers the only chance for long-term survival from this disease.The outcome of 36 patients who underwent surgical resection for carcinosarcoma of the gall bladder was poor;the 3-year overall survival rate was only 31.0% and the median survival time was 7.0 mo.Since the postoperative prognosis of carcinosarcoma of the gall bladder is worse than that of adenocarcinoma,new adjuvant chemotherapies and/or radiation techniques are essential for improvement of surgical outcome.Takehiro Okabayashi Zhao-Li Sun Robert A Montgomery Kazuhiro Hanazaki 2009World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,39:9

12Effect of Anions on Adsorbability and Extractability of Lead Added in Soil显示文摘The effect of accompanying anions on the adsorbability and extractability of Pb added in soils was studied by using bach equilibria and incubation-extraction mothods.Pb concentration ranged between 0.48-2.41 mM in the adsorption experiment,and Pb added to soil from 2.14 to 19.31mM Pb/kg with an incubation time of 2-16 weeks in the incubation-extraction test in which 1M NH4OAc(pH 7) was taken as an extraction agent,and the Pb compounds used are PbCl2,Pb(NO3)2 and Pb(OAc)2.The values of pH50 for Pb retention and the parameters,b and k values,of Langmuir equation were used to distinguish the difference of adsorbability and extractability of Pb affected by anions,respectively.Judging from the results of either pH50 value or b value,the influences of Cl^- and NO3^- on the adsorbability and extractability of Pb in soils were similar but quite different from those of OAc^-.The relative loading capacities of soils to Pb calculated according to the extraction rate showed that the values of Pb(OAc)2 were higher than those of PbCl2 and Pb(NO3)2.CHEN HUAI-MAN, ZHENG CHUN-RONG and SUN XIAO-HUALaboratory of Material Cycling in Pedosphere, ’Institute of Soil Science, A cademia Sinica, P. 16Clinical application of concentrated bone marrow aspirate in orthopaedics:A systematic review显示文摘AIM To examine the evidence behind the use of concentrated bone marrow aspirate(c BMA) in cartilage, bone, and tendon repair; establish proof of concept for the use of cB MA in these biologic environments; and provide the level and quality of evidence substantiating the use of cB MA in the clinical setting.METHODS We conducted a systematic review according to PRISMA guidelines. EMBASE, MEDLINE, and Web of Knowledge databases were screened for the use of cB MA in the repair of cartilage, bone, and tendon repair. We extracted data on tissue type, cB MA preparation, cB MA concentration, study methods, outcomes, and level of evidence and reported the results in tables and text.RESULTS A total of 36 studies met inclusion/exclusion criteria and were included in this review. Thirty-one of 36(86%) studies reported the method of centrifugation and preparation of cB MA with 15(42%) studies reporting either a cell concentration or an increase from baseline. Variation of c BMA application was seen amongst the studies evaluated. Twenty-one of 36(58%) were level of evidence Ⅳ, 12/36(33%) were level of evidence Ⅲ, and 3/36(8%) were level of evidence Ⅱ. Studies evaluated full thickness chondral lesions(7 studies), osteochondral lesions(10 studies), osteoarthritis(5 studies), nonunion or fracture(9 studies), or tendon injuries(5 studies). Significant clinical improvement with the presence of hyaline-like values and lower incidence of fibrocartilage on T2 mapping was found in patients receiving cB MA in the treatment of cartilaginous lesions. Bone consolidation and time to bone union was improved in patients receiving cB MA. Enhanced healingrates, improved quality of the repair surface on ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging, and a decreased risk of re-rupture was demonstrated in patients receiving cB MA as an adjunctive treatment in tendon repair. CONCLUSION The current literature demonstrates the potential benefits of utilizing c BMA for the repair of cartilaginous lesions, bony defects, and tendon injuries in the clinical setting. This study also demonstrates discrepancies between the literature with regards to various methods of centrifugation, variable cell count concentrations, and lack of standardized outcome measures. 17Consensus on the digestive endoscopic tunnel technique显示文摘With the digestive endoscopic tunnel technique(DETT), many diseases that previously would have been treated by surgery are now endoscopically curable by establishing a submucosal tunnel between the mucosa and muscularis propria(MP). Through the tunnel, endoscopic diagnosis or treatment is performed for lesions in the mucosa, in the MP, and even outside the gastrointestinal(GI) tract.At present, the tunnel technique application range covers the following:(1)Treatment of lesions originating from the mucosal layer, e.g., endoscopic submucosal tunnel dissection for oesophageal large or circular early-stage cancer or precancerosis;(2) treatment of lesions from the MP layer, per-oral endoscopic myotomy, submucosal tunnelling endoscopic resection, etc.; and(3) diagnosis and treatment of lesions outside the GI tract, such as resection of lymph nodes and benign tumour excision in the mediastinum or abdominal cavity. With the increasing number of DETTs performed worldwide, endoscopic tunnel therapeutics, which is based on DETT, has been gradually developed and optimized. However, there is not yet an expert consensus on DETT to regulate its indications, contraindications, surgical procedure, and postoperative treatment.The International DETT Alliance signed up this consensus to standardize the procedures of DETT. 19A potential red-emitting phosphor Ca_(2)YTaO_(6):Eu^(3+):Luminescence properties,thermal stability and applications for white LEDs显示文摘A novel red-emitting phosphor tantalate Ca_(2)YTaO_(6):Eu^(3+)was synthesized by a solid-state reaction.The purity and surface morphology of the phosphors were characterized.The Ca_(2)YTaO_(6):Eu^(3+)phosphors show a sharp emission peak at 612 nm under near-ultraviolet(n-UV) at 395 nm because of the ^(5)D0→^(7)F_(2) transition of Eu^(3+).The optimal Eu^(3+)doping concentration in Ca_(2)YTaO_(6) is 40 mol% and the critical energy-transfer distance of Eu^(3+)ions was calculated to be 0.9 nm.The emission spectra of Ca_(2)YTaO_(6):Eu_(3+)from 300 to 480 K were investigated.The thermal-quenching temperature(T_(0.5)) of Ca_(2)YTaO_(6):Eu^(3+)is above 480 K.The color purity of Ca_(2)YTaO_(6):40 mol%Eu^(3+)is as high as 99.8%.The luminescence lifetime of Ca_(2)YTaO_(6):40 mol%Eu^(3+)was also discussed.The high color purity and high thermal stability of Eu^(3+)-doped Ca_(2)YTaO_(6) phosphors contribute to its application value in white lightemitting diodes(w-LEDs).Ka Ding Siru A Shuo Pang Leyan Shan Yaqi Zhang Pengfei Sun Bin Deng Ruijin Yu 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,7:4
