FUNDAMENTALS OF THE ANALYTIC NETWORK PROCESS- DEPENDENCE AND FEEDBACK IN DECISION-MAKING WITH A SINGLE NETWORK显示文摘The Analytic Network Process (ANP) is a multicriteria theory of measurement used to derive relative priority scales of absolute numbers from individual judgments (or from actual measurements normalized to a relative form) that also belong to a fundamental scale of absolute numbers. These judgments represent the relative influence, of one of two elements over the other in a pairwise comparison process on a third element in the system, with respect to an underlying control criterion.Through its supermatrix, whose entries are themselves rqatrices of column priorities, the ANP synthesizes the outcome of dependence and feedback within and between clusters of elements. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) with its independence assumptions on upper levels from lower levels and the independence of the elements in a level is a special case of the ANP. The ANP is an essential tool for articulating our understanding of a decision problem. One had to overcome the limitation of linear hierarchic structures and their mathematical consequences. This part on the ANP summarizes and illustrates the basic concepts of the ANP and shows how informed intuitive judgments can lead to real life answers that are matched by actual measurements in the real world (for example, relative dollar values) as illustrated in market share examples that rely on judgments and not on numerical data. | Thomas L.SAATY | 2004 | Systems Science and Systems Engineering2004,13,2: | 93

Hybridizing grey wolf optimization with differential evolution for global optimization and test scheduling for 3D stacked SoC显示文摘A new meta-heuristic method is proposed to enhance current meta-heuristic methods for global optimization and test scheduling for three-dimensional(3D) stacked system-on-chip(SoC) by hybridizing grey wolf optimization with differential evolution(HGWO). Because basic grey wolf optimization(GWO) is easy to fall into stagnation when it carries out the operation of attacking prey, and differential evolution(DE) is integrated into GWO to update the previous best position of grey wolf Alpha, Beta and Delta, in order to force GWO to jump out of the stagnation with DE's strong searching ability. The proposed algorithm can accelerate the convergence speed of GWO and improve its performance.Twenty-three well-known benchmark functions and an NP hard problem of test scheduling for 3D SoC are employed to verify the performance of the proposed algorithm. Experimental results show the superior performance of the proposed algorithm for exploiting the optimum and it has advantages in terms of exploration. | Aijun Zhu Chuanpei Xu Zhi Li Jun Wu Zhenbing Liu | 2015 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2015,26,2: | 83
THE DEMAND DISRUPTION MANAGEMENT PROBLEM FOR A SUPPLY CHAIN SYSTEM WITH NONLINEAR DEMAND FUNCTIONS显示文摘This paper addresses the problem of handling the uncertainty of demand in aone-supplier-one-retailer supply chain system. Demand variation often makes the real productiondifferent from what is originally planned, causing a deviation cost from the production plan. Assumethe market demand is sensitive to the retail price in a nonlinear form, we show how to effectivelyhandle the demand uncertainty in a supply chain, both for the case of centralized-decision-makingsystem and the case of decentralized-decision-making system with perfect coordination. | MinghuiXU XiangtongQI GangYU HanqinZHANG ChengxiuGAO | 2003 | Systems Science and Systems Engineering2003,12,1: | 92
DECISION MAKING - THE ANALYTIC HIERARCHY AND NETWORK PROCESSES (AHP/ANP)显示文摘This is the first part of an introduction to multicriteria decision making using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and its generalization, the Analytic Network Process (ANP). The discussion involves, individual and group decisions both with the independence of the criteria from the alternatives as in the AHP and also with dependence and feedback in the entire decision structure as in the ANP. This part explains the Analytic Hierarchy Process, with examples, and presents in some detail the mathematical foundations. An exposition of the Analytic Network Process and its applications will appear in later issues of this journal. | Thomas L.SAATY | 2004 | Systems Science and Systems Engineering2004,13,1: | 246
Aggregation operators on intuitionistic trapezoidal fuzzy number and its application to multi-criteria decision making problems显示文摘Intuitionistic trapezoidal fuzzy numbers and their operational laws are defined. Based on these operational laws, some aggregation operators, including intuitionistic trapezoidal fuzzy weighted arithmetic averaging operator and weighted geometric averaging operator are proposed. Expected values, score function, and accuracy function of intuitionitsic trapezoidal fuzzy numbers are defined. Based on these, a kind of intuitionistic trapezoidal fuzzy multi-criteria decision making method is proposed. By using these aggregation operators, criteria values are aggregated and integrated intuitionistic trapezoidal fuzzy numbers of alternatives are attained. By comparing score function and accuracy function values of integrated fuzzy numbers, a ranking of the whole alternative set can be attained. An example is given to show the feasibility and availability of the method. | Wang Jianqiang Zhang Zhong | 2009 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2009,20,2: | 63
Study on effectiveness evaluation of weapon systems based on grey relational analysis and TOPSIS显示文摘To evaluate the effectiveness of weapon systems, the advantages and disadvantages of grey relational analysis and TOPSIS for multiattribute decision-making is pointed out, and an effectiveness evaluation model of weapon systems by combining grey relational analysis and TOPSIS is proposed. The model aggregates the grey relational grade and the distance to a new integrated closeness and reflects not only the trend but also the situation of the alternative. The example illuminates that the model is effective for the effectiveness evaluation of weapon systems. | Gu Hui Song Bifeng | 2009 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2009,20,1: | 53
MAKING AND VALIDATING COMPLEX DECISIONS WITH THE AHP/ANP显示文摘Several examples that serve to validate the AHP/ANP with matrices hierarchies and networks are given in this paper. They are then followed by a discussion of the real numbers and how they are generated without the need for an absolute zero, and how they define an absolute scale of measurement that also does not need an absolute zero. In the AHP/ANP the measurement of an alternative depends on what other alternatives it is compared with. The result is that rank can change if alternatives are added or deleted, something that does not occur in one-at-a-time rating of the alternatives by comparing them with an ideal. An example is provided to show that this is natural and need not involve new criteria or change in judgments. A brief discussion of Utility Theory, the other multi-criteria theory, which uses interval scales to measure intangibles and some of its problems and paradoxes, is given. The references at the end include most of the papers that are adverse to the AHP with brief comments about several of them given in the paper. | Thomas L. | 9 | Survey of the research on dynamic weapon-target assignment problem显示文摘The basic concepts and models of weapon-target assignment (WTA) are introduced and the mathematical nature of the WTA models is also analyzed. A systematic survey of research on WTA problem is provided. The present research on WTA is focused on models and algorithms. In the research on models of WTA, the static WTA models are mainly studied and the dynamic WTA models are not fully studied in deed. In the research on algorithms of WTA, the intelligent algorithms are often used to solve the WTA problem. The small scale of static WTA problems has been solved very well, however, the large scale of dynamic WTA problems has not been solved effectively so far. Finally, the characteristics of dynamic WTA are analyzed and directions for the future research on dynamic WTA are discussed. | Cai Huaiping Liu Jingxu Chen Yingwu Wang Hao | 2006 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2006,17,3: | 43

Multi-attribute decision making method for air target threat evaluation based on intuitionistic fuzzy sets显示文摘The function of the air target threat evaluation (TE) is the foundation for weapons allocation and senor resources management within the surface air defense. The multi-attribute evaluation methodology is utilized to address the issue of the TE in which the tactic features of the detected target are treated as evaluation attributes. Meanwhile, the intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS) is employed to deal with information uncertainty in the TE process. Furthermore, on the basis of the entropy weight and inclusion-comparison probability, a hybrid TE method is developed. In order to accommodate the demands of naturalistic decision making, the proposed method allows air defense commanders to express their intuitive opinions besides incorporating into the threat features of the detected target. An illustrative example is provided to indicate the feasibility and advantage of the proposed method. | Yongjie XU YongchunWang Xudong Miu | 2012 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2012,23,6: | 41
Autonomous air combat maneuver decision using Bayesian inference and moving horizon optimization显示文摘To reach a higher level of autonomy for unmanned combat aerial vehicle(UCAV) in air combat games, this paper builds an autonomous maneuver decision system. In this system, the air combat game is regarded as a Markov process, so that the air combat situation can be effectively calculated via Bayesian inference theory. According to the situation assessment result, adaptively adjusts the weights of maneuver decision factors, which makes the objective function more reasonable and ensures the superiority situation for UCAV. As the air combat game is characterized by highly dynamic and a significant amount of uncertainty,to enhance the robustness and effectiveness of maneuver decision results, fuzzy logic is used to build the functions of four maneuver decision factors. Accuracy prediction of opponent aircraft is also essential to ensure making a good decision; therefore, a prediction model of opponent aircraft is designed based on the elementary maneuver method. Finally, the moving horizon optimization strategy is used to effectively model the whole air combat maneuver decision process. Various simulations are performed on typical scenario test and close-in dogfight, the results sufficiently demonstrate the superiority of the designed maneuver decision method. | HUANG Changqiang DONG Kangsheng HUANG Hanqiao TANG Shangqin ZHANG Zhuoran | 2018 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2018,29,1: | 49
Hybrid artificial bee colony algorithm with variable neighborhood search and memory mechanism显示文摘Artificial bee colony(ABC) is one of the most popular swarm intelligence optimization algorithms which have been widely used in numerical optimization and engineering applications. However, there are still deficiencies in ABC regarding its local search ability and global search efficiency. Aiming at these deficiencies,an ABC variant named hybrid ABC(HABC) algorithm is proposed.Firstly, the variable neighborhood search factor is added to the solution search equation, which can enhance the local search ability and increase the population diversity. Secondly, inspired by the neuroscience investigation of real honeybees, the memory mechanism is put forward, which assumes the artificial bees can remember their past successful experiences and further guide the subsequent foraging behavior. The proposed memory mechanism is used to improve the global search efficiency. Finally, the results of comparison on a set of ten benchmark functions demonstrate the superiority of HABC. | FAN Chengli FU Qiang LONG Guangzheng XING Qinghua | 2018 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2018,29,2: | 49

LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION PLANNING UNDER ENVIRONMENTAL RISKS AND UNCERTAINTIES显示文摘In this paper we demonstrate the need for risk-adjusted approaches to planning expansion of livestock production. In particular, we illustrate that under exposure to risk, a portfolio of producers is needed where more efficient producers co-exist and cooperate with less efficient ones given that the latter are associated with lower, uncorrelated or even negatively correlated contingencies. This raises important issues of cooperation and risk sharing among diverse producers. For large-scale practical allocation problems when information on the contingencies may be disperse, not analytically tractable, or be available on aggregate levels, we propose a downscaling procedure based on behavioral principles utilizing spatial risk preference structure. It allows for estimation of production allocation at required resolutions accounting for location specific risks and suitability constraints. The approach provides a tool for harmonization of data from various spatial levels. We applied the method in a case study of livestock production allocation in China to 2030. | Günther FISCHER Tatiana ERMOLIEVA Yuri ERMOLIEV Harrij van VELTHUIZEN | 2006 | Journal of Systems Science and Systems Engineering2006,15,4: | 31
Research on evaluations of several grey relational models adapt to grey relational axioms显示文摘Grey relational analysis is an important part of the grey systems theory, and it is the basis of the grey clustering analysis, grey decision-making and grey controlling. To research whether grey relational models satisfy the four grey relational theorems, several kinds of grey relational models are commented. Some problems including the properties of normality, pair symmetry and wholeness are discussed. The phenomenon that the lower value of almost each grey relational model is not equal to zero is proved. The contradiction problems between the properties of wholeness and pair symmetry are verified. Finally, several propositions are constructed to explain the above problems. | Xie Naiming Liu Sifeng | 2009 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2009,20,2: | 34
New chaotic system and its hyperchaos generation显示文摘To seek for lower-dimensional chaotic systems that have complex topological attractor structure with simple algebraic system structure, a new chaotic system of three-dimensional autonomous ordinary differential equations is presented. The new system has simple algebraic structure, and can display a 2-scroll attractor with complex topological structure, which is different from the Lorenz's, Chen's and Lu¨'s attractors. By introducing a linear state feedback controller, the system can be controlled to generate a hyperchaotic attractor. The novel chaotic attractor, hyperchaotic attractor and dynamical behaviors of corresponding systems are further investigated by employing Lyapunov exponent spectrum, bifurcation diagram, Poincar′e mapping and phase portrait, etc., and then verified by simulating an experimental circuit. | Bao Bocheng Liu Zhong Xu Jianping | 2009 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2009,20,6: | 34
Fast-moving target tracking based on mean shift and frame-difference methods显示文摘The mean shift tracker has difficulty in tracking fast moving targets and suffers from tracking error accumulation problem. To overcome the limitations of the mean shift method,a new approach is proposed by integrating the mean shift algorithm and frame-difference methods. The rough position of the moving target is first located by the direct frame-difference algorithm and three-frame-difference algorithm for the immobile camera scenes and mobile camera scenes, respectively. Then, the mean shift algorithm is used to achieve precise tracking of the target.Several tracking experiments show that the proposed method can effectively track first moving targets and overcome the tracking error accumulation problem. | Hongpeng Yin Yi Chai Simon X. | 20 | BIG DATA:UNLEASHING INFORMATION显示文摘At present,it is projected that about 4 zettabytes(or 10**21 bytes)of digital data are being generated per year by everything from underground physics experiments to retail transactions to security cameras to global positioning systems. In the U.S.,major research programs are being funded to deal with big data in all five sectors(i.e.,services,manufacturing,construction,agriculture and mining)of the economy.Big Data is a term applied to data sets whose size is beyond the ability of available tools to undertake their acquisition, access, analytics and/or application in a reasonable amount of time.Whereas Tien(2003)forewarned about the data rich, information poor(DRIP)problems that have been pervasive since the advent of large-scale data collections or warehouses, the DRIP conundrum has been somewhat mitigated by the Big Data approach which has unleashed information in a manner that can support informed-yet,not necessarily defensible or valid-decisions or choices. Thus,by somewhat overcoming data quality issues with data quantity, data access restrictions with on-demand cloud computing, causative analysis with correlative data analytics, and model-driven with evidence-driven applications, appropriate actions can be undertaken with the obtained information.New acquisition, access, analytics and application technologies are being developed to further Big Data as it is being employed to help resolve the 14 grand challenges(identified by the National Academy of Engineering in 2008),underpin the 10 breakthrough technologies(compiled by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2013)and support the Third Industrial Revolution of mass customization. | James M.TIEN | 2013 | Journal of Systems Science and Systems Engineering2013,22,2: | 34
