1Periodicities in the emplacement of large igneous provinces through the Phanerozoic:Relations to ocean chemistry and marine biodiversity evolution显示文摘Large igneous provinces(LIPs) are considered a relevant cause for mass extinctions of marine life throughout Earth’s history.Their flood basalts and associated intrusions can cause significant release of SO4 and CO2 and consequently,cause major environmental disruptions.Here,we reconstruct the long-term periodic pattern of UP emplacement and its impact on ocean chemistry and biodiversity fromδ34Ssulfate of the last 520 Ma under particular consideration of the preservation limits of UP records.A combination of cross-wavelet and other time-series analysis methods has been applied to quantify a potential chain of linkage between LIP emplacement periodicity,geochemical changes and the Phanerozoic marine genera record.We suggest a mantle plume cyclicity represented by LIP volumes(V) of V= -(350-770)×103 km3 sin(2πt/ 170 Ma)+(300-650)×103km3sin(2πt/64.5Ma + 2.3) for t=time in Ma.A shift from the 64.5 Ma to a weaker~28-35 Ma UP cyclicity during the Jurassic contributes together with probably independent changes in the marine sulfur cycle to less ocean anoxia,and a general stabilization of ocean chemistry and increasing marine biodiversity throughout the last~135 Ma.The UP cycle pattern is coherent with marine biodiversity fluctuations corresponding to a reduction of marine biodiversity of~120 genera/Ma at~600×103 km3 LIP eruption volume.The 62-65 Ma LIP cycle pattern as well as excursion inδ34Ssulfateand marine genera reduction suggest a not-yet identified found LIP event at~440-450 Ma.Andreas Prokoph Hafida E1 Bilali Richard Ernst 2013Geoscience Frontiers2013,4,3:8
2Pyrolysis of olive residue/low density polyethylene mixture:Part Ⅰ Thermogravimetric kinetics显示文摘This paper demonstrates the thermal pyrolysis of olive residue,low density polyethylene(LDPE) and olive residue/LDPE mixture in an inert atmosphere of N2 using thermogravimetric analysis(TGA).Measurements were carried out in the temperature range 300K^973K at heating rates of 2K/min,10K/min,20K/min and 50K/min.Based on the results obtained,three temperature regimes were selected for studying the non-isothermal kinetics of olive residue/LDPE mixture.The first two were dominated by the olive residue pyrolysis,while the third was linked to the LDPE pyrolysis,which occurred at much higher temperatures.Discrepancies between the experimental and calculated TG/DTG profiles were considered as a measurement of the extent of interactions occurring on co-pyrolysis.The maximum degradation temperatures of each component in the mixture were higher than those the individual components;thus an increase in thermal stability was expected.The kinetic parameters associated with thermal degradation were determined using Friedman isoconversional method.ABOULKAS A E1 HARFI K El BOUADILI A 2008燃料化学学报2008,36,6:6
3Characterization of serogroup C meningococci isolated from 14 provinces of China during 1966—2005 using comparative genomic hybridization显示文摘Neisseria meningitidis is a major cause of bacterial meningitis and septicemia worldwide. In China, serogroup A strains were responsible for over 95% of the cases, while serogroup B strains were mainly the cause of localized outbreaks and sporadic cases. Before 2003, serogroup C strains were only re-covered from a few sporadic cases. However, a sudden increase in the number of cases due to sero-group C strains occurred during 2003—2005 in Anhui Province, China. Many cases were found in other provinces at the same time. Multilocus sequence typing (MLST) results indicated that the unique se-quence type 4821 clone meningococci, a new hyper-virulent lineage, was responsible for the serogroup C meningitis outbreaks. We have completed the project of sequencing the whole genome of the Chi-nese N. meningitidis serogroup C representative isolate 053442. We fabricated a whole-genome mi-croarray of N. meningitidis isolate 053442 and analyzed the genome composition differences among 81 serogroup C isolates which were isolated from 14 provinces of China during 1966—2005. The com-parative genomic hybridization (CGH) result shows that the genome compositions of nearly all sero-group C isolates are similar to that of 053442. The products of many absent open reading frames (ORFs) are conserved hypothetical proteins.
