| 1 | Application of serum surface-enhanced laser desorption/ionization proteomic patterns in distinguishing lung cancer patients from healthy people显示文摘Screening and early diagnosis of lung cancer relies mainly on chest X-ray, low-dose computed tomography, bronchoscopy, sputum cytology, and measurement of tumor markers such as carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), cytokeratin-19 fragments (Cyfra21-1), and neuron-specific enolase (NSE). However, all these methods lack adequate sensitivity and/or specificity. 1-3 Better methods are therefore urgently needed in screening and early diagnosis of lung cancer, and proteomic fingerprinting represents a promising approach. | 2 | Immunology Mechanism of CD4^+ CD25^ T Regulatory Cells Acting on Effector T Cells显示文摘Objective: To detect the inhibiting co-stimulating molecule CTLA4 and cytokines secreted by Treg cells, and explore the immunology mechanism of T regulatory cells acting on effector T cells in co-cultured system(CCS) and separating-cultured system(SCS). Methods: Detecting the percentage of CTLA4 and CD28 expressed on the Treg ceils and effector T ceils, and then adding Treg cells to mixed lymphocyte reaction(MLR) system in CCS and TransWeil Milliceil-PCF SCS, at the same time, adding or not adding anti-IL-10 or anti-TGF.II1 to the reacting systems, examining the inhibitory capacity of Treg ceils exerting on the MLR. Results: Compared with effector T cells, Treg cells expressed higher level CTLA4 and secreted much more IL-10 and TGF-β(P<0.01). The inhibitory capacity of Treg cells co-cultured with effector T ceils is much stronger than that in separating cultured group(P<0.01). Moreover, the inhibiting rate of Treg ceils exerting on effector T ceils through secretin_g IL-10 was more powerful than that through secreting TGF-β1 (P<0.01). Coaclusion: Both ceil-to-ceil contact and cytokines secretion mechanisms are involved in CD4^+ CD25^+ Treg ceils operating function. However, the former is more important. | 3 | Additive manufacturing of metals:Microstructure evolution and multistage control显示文摘As a revolutionary industrial technology,additive manufacturing creates objects by adding materials layer by layer and hence can fabricate customized components with an unprecedented degree of freedom.For metallic materials,unique hierarchical microstructures are constructed during additive manufacturing,which endow them with numerous excellent properties.To take full advantage of additive manufacturing,an in-depth understanding of the microstructure evolution mechanism is required.To this end,this review explores the fundamental procedures of additive manufacturing,that is,the formation and binding of melt pools.A comprehensive processing map is proposed that integrates melt pool energy-and geometry-related process parameters together.Based on it,additively manufactured microstructures are developed during and after the solidification of constituent melt pool.The solidification structures are composed of primary columnar grains and fine secondary phases that form along the grain boundaries.The post-solidification structures include submicron scale dislocation cells stemming from internal residual stress and nanoscale precipitates induced by intrinsic heat treatment during cyclic heating of adjacent melt pool.Based on solidification and dislocation theories,the formation mechanisms of the multistage microstructures are thoroughly analyzed,and accordingly,multistage control methods are proposed.In addition,the underlying atomic scale structural features are briefly discussed.Furthermore,microstructure design for additive manufacturing through adjustment of process parameters and alloy composition is addressed to fulfill the great potential of the technique.This review not only builds a solid microstructural framework for metallic materials produced by additive manufacturing but also provides a promising guideline to adjust their mechanical properties. | Zhiyuan Liu Dandan Zhao Pei Wang Ming Yan Can Yang Zhangwei Chen Jian Lu Zhaoping Lu | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,5: | 27 |
| 4 | Discovery of a large area of ice-wedge networks in Ordos: Implications for the southern boundary of permafrost in the north of China as well as for the environment in the latest 20 kaBP显示文摘The delineation of the southern boundary of the latitudinal permafrost in the north of China in the period of late Pleistocene, i.e. the last glaciation maximum (LGM), has been hampered for two reasons. Firstly, previous studies were limited to the eastern part of the north of China, and,secondly, the ages of the permafrost had not been determined systematically. In this paper, we suggest that the southern boundary of the high latitudinal permafrost in the north ofChina is bounded by approximately 38—40N (eastern part) and 37—39N (western part) lines of latitude based on ourinterpretation of periglacial phenomena and their implica-tion to the environment during the late Pleistocene, and this southern boundary is plotted for the first time. | 5 | Mercury in leaf litter in typical suburban and urban broadleaf forests in China显示文摘To study the role of leaf litter in the mercury (Hg) cycle in suburban broadleaf forests and the distribution of Hg in urban forests, we collected leaf litter and soil from suburban evergreen and deciduous broadleaf forests and from urban forests in Beijing. The Hg concentrations in leaf litter from the suburban forests varied from 8.3 to 205.0 ng/g, with an average (avg) of (49.7 ± 36.9) ng/g. The average Hg concentration in evergreen broadleaf forest leaf litter (50.8 ± 39.4) ng/g was higher than that in deciduous broadleaf forest leaf litter (25.8 ± 10.1) ng/g. The estimated Hg fluxes of leaf litter in suburban evergreen and deciduous broadleaf forests were 179.0 and 83.7 mg/(ha·yr), respectively. The Hg concentration in organic horizons (O horizons) ((263.1 ± 237.2) ng/g) was higher than that in eluvial horizons (A horizons) ((83.9 ± 52.0) ng/g). These results indicated that leaf litterfall plays an important role in transporting atmospheric mercury to soil in suburban forests. For urban forests in Beijing, the Hg concentrations in leaf litter ranged from 8.8-119.0 (avg 28.1 ± 16.6) ng/g, with higher concentrations at urban sites than at suburban sites for each tree. The Hg concentrations in surface soil in Beijing were 32.0-25300.0 ng/g and increased from suburban sites to urban sites, with the highest value from Jingshan (JS) Park at the centre of Beijing. | 8 | Additive manufacturing of thin electrolyte layers via inkjet printing of highly-stable ceramic inks显示文摘Inkjet printing is a promising alternative for the fabrication of thin film components for solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs) due to its contactless, mask free, and controllable printing process. In order to obtain satisfying electrolyte thin layer structures in anode-supported SOFCs, the preparation of suitable electrolyte ceramic inks is a key. At present, such a kind of 8 mol% Y_(2)O_(3)-stabilized ZrO_(2)(8 YSZ) electrolyte ceramic ink with long-term stability and high solid loading(> 15 wt%) seems rare for precise inkjet printing, and a number of characterization and performance aspects of the inks, such as homogeneity, viscosity, and printability, should be studied. In this study, 8 YSZ ceramic inks of varied compositions were developed for inkjet printing of SOFC ceramic electrolyte layers. The dispersing effect of two types of dispersants, i.e., polyacrylic acid ammonium(PAANH4) and polyacrylic acid(PAA), were compared. The results show that ultrasonic dispersion treatment can help effectively disperse the ceramic particles in the inks. PAANH4 has a better dispersion effect for the inks developed in this study. The inks show excellent printable performance in the actual printing process. The stability of the ink can be maintained for a storage period of over 30 days with the help of initial ultrasonic dispersion. Finally, micron-size thin 8 YSZ electrolyte films were successfully fabricated through inkjet printing and sintering, based on the as-developed high solid loading 8 YSZ inks(20 wt%). | 10 | APPLYING PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION TO JOB-SHOPSCHEDULING PROBLEM显示文摘A new heuristic algorithm is proposed for the problem of finding the minimum makespan in the job-shop scheduling problem. The new algorithm is based on the principles of particle swarm optimization (PSO). PSO employs a collaborative population-based search, which is inspired by the social behavior of bird flocking. It combines local search (by self experience) and global search (by neighboring experience), possessing high search efficiency. Simulated annealing (SA) employs certain probability to avoid becoming trapped in a local optimum and the search process can be controlled by the cooling schedule. By reasonably combining these two different search algorithms, a general, fast and easily implemented hybrid optimization algorithm, named HPSO, is developed. The effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed PSO-based algorithm are demonstrated by applying it to some benchmark job-shop scheduling problems and comparing results with other algorithms in literature. | 11 | Cloning and Sequence Analysis of a Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase Gene PsG6PDH from Freezing-tolerant Populus suaveolens显示文摘A 1 207 bp cDNA fragment (PsG6PDH) was amplified by RT-PCR from cold-induced total RNA of the freez- ing-tolerant P. Suaveolens, using primers based on the highly conserved region of published plant glucose-6-phosphate dehydro- genase (G6PDH) genes. The sequence analysis showed that PsG6PDH coding region had 1 101 bp and encoded 367 predicted amino acid residues. Moreover, the nucleotide sequence of PsG6PDH showed 83%, 82%, 79%, 79% and 78% identity, and the derived amino acid sequence shared 44.2%, 44.7%, 42.0%, 40.5% and 43.9% identity with those of the Solanum tuberosum, Nicotiana ta- bacum, Triticum aestivum, Oryza sativa and Arabidopsis thaliana, respectively. The results show that PsG6PDH is a new member of G6PDH gene family and belongs to the cytosolic G6PDH gene. | 12 | Comparative Study on Antioxidative System in Normal and Vitrified Shoots of Populus suaveolens in Tissue Culture显示文摘To explore the physiological and biochemical mechanism of the occurrence of vitrified shoots of Populus suaveolens in tissue culture, the changes in water, chlorphyll, lignin, H2O2, phenylalanine ammonialyase (PAL), malonaldehyde (MDA), protective enzymatic systems, and some key enzymes involved in the ascorbate- glutathione cycle were comparatively studied in both normal and vitrified shoots of P. suaveolens. The results show that the lower activities of peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT), ascorbate peroxidase (APX), dehydroascorbate reductase (DHAR), glutathione reductase (GR) and PAL, and the less contents of chlorphyll, lignin, ascorbate (ASA) and reduced glutathione (GSH) as well as the lower ratios of ASA / DHA and GSH / GSSG are observed in vitrified shoots than in normal ones during the whole culture period. While in comparison with normal shoots, the higher activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and the more concentrations of water, H2O2, MDA, dehydroascorbate (DHA) and oxidized glutathione (GSSG) are found in vitrified shoots. Statistical analysis indicates that the enhanced activity of SOD and the decreased activities of CAT and POD as well as some enzymes involved in the ascorbate-glutathione cycle might be closely correlated to the accumulation of H2O2. The less regeneration of ASA and GSH and the lower capacity of the ascorbate-glutathione cycle observed in vitrified shoots might be due to a significant decrease in APX, MDAR, DHAR and GR activities and a decline in redox status of ASA and GSH. The decreases in chlorphyll content might result in a decline in photosynthesis. The lower activities of POD and PAL could result in the decrease of lignin synthesis and cell wall ligination, which might be the key factor leading to the increase in water content. | 13 | Clinical and pathological characteristics of septum pellucidum tumor and choice of surgical approaches for its resection显示文摘Background Tumor involving the septum pellucidum is uncommon. Surgery as the main therapeutic procedure for this lesion is a challenge to neurosurgeons. We analyzed the clinical characteristics and pathological features of septum pellucidum tumor in 41 patients and compared the curative effects of frontal transcortical, trans-sulcal and interhemispheric transcallosal approaches. Methods Clinical characteristics and the pathological features of septum pellucidum tumor were investigated retrospectively in 41 patients. The differences in postoperative residual rates, extents of tumors and resection of normal brain tissues after use of the three approaches in these patients were analyzed statistically. Results Septum pellucidum tumor is more likely to attack young or middle-aged persons. The tumor mainly presents itself as a central neurocytoma or cerebral low-grade glioma in pathology and manifests as intracranial hypertension clinically. No difference was found in the extent of tumor resection but significant difference in the extent of normal brain tissue resection and in postoperative disability rate among the three approaches. The transcortical approach brought about the most serious injury to brain tissue and the highest disability rate, Whereas the frontal transcallosal approach the lightest injury and the lowest disability rate. The injury to brain tissue and the disability rate brought about by the front trans-sulcus approach were between the above two approaches. Conclusions Operation is still regarded the major treatment for septum pellucidum tumor. After heat treatment at 300°C, 450°C, 550°C, 650°C and 800°C, the microstructure of the coatings will be changed. The changes of microstructure have obvious effects on the microhardness of the coatings, which may be the most important factor influencing the coatings sliding wear behavior. | 19 | Theoretical study of acoustic field patterns of 2-D ultrasound phased arrays for hyperthermia therapy显示文摘Acoustic field patterns of 2-D ultrasound phased arrays for the high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) hyperthermia therapy are studied, and controlling algorithms of field patterns are provided. The 2-D phased array using the conventional single-focus scanning pattern can exactly control the focal distance and the steering direction of the beam, but in general produce a single focus. Extremely high intensity levels will be needed when this pattern is used to treat large tumors. However, a direct synthesis method of the acoustic field based on the pseudo-inverse matrix can produce the multiple-focus field pattern. The rectangular radiator method of the acoustic field was used to simulate the single-focus scanning pattern and the multiple-focus pattern which are produced by a 2-D phased array consisting of 20×20 elements, and simulation results show that the 2-D array using the multiple-focus pattern can produce several loci with lower intensity levels simultaneously. Furthermore, the improved eigenvector algorithm was used to optimize the intensity gain of the multiple-focus pattern. It is shown to increase the power deposition in the target volume and eliminate the undesired interference.
