| 1 | Study on Tourist Carrying Capacity Based on Matter Element Analysis显示文摘This paper proposes that it is necessary to implement the concept of tourist carrying capacity to facilitate the tourism planning, and presents a method to evaluate the carrying capacity. The method called matter element analysis can solve the uncertain and incompatible problem of the evaluated factors in assessing carrying capacity.The current state of a destination's carrying capacity can be determined by establishing the standard indexes and the matter element model. | 2 | Noise-sidebands-free and ultra-low-RIN 1.5 μm single-frequency fiber laser towards coherent optical detection显示文摘A noise-sidebands-free and ultra-low relative intensity noise(RIN) 1.5 μm single-frequency fiber laser is demonstrated for the first time to our best knowledge. Utilizing a self-injection locking framework and a booster optical amplifier, the noise sidebands with relative amplitudes as high as 20 dB are completely suppressed.The RIN is remarkably reduced by more than 64 dB at the relaxation oscillation peak to retain below-150 dB∕Hz in a frequency range from 75 kHz to 50 MHz, while the quantum noise limit is -152.9 d B∕Hz.Furthermore, a laser linewidth narrower than 600 Hz, a polarization-extinction ratio of more than 23 dB, and an optical signal-to-noise ratio of more than 73 dB are acquired simultaneously. | 3 | Expression of NASG gene and its role in human nasopharyngeal homogenous tissue cells显示文摘Background The NASG gene has been confirmed as a tumor-suppressor gene candidate related to nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) by previous studies. We further investigated the expression and the role of NASG in the homogeneous tissue cells by microdissecting the samples of tissue from human NPC, and introduced a new way to study the expression of specific genes in tumor tissue. Methods The RNAlater reagent was used to preserve the samples of tissue from the nasopharynx of NPC patients. The samples were microdissected to harvest the homogeneous tissue cells and then total RNA was isolated from them. The antisense RNA (aRNA) was amplified from the total RNA by “ in vitro transcription (IVT)”. We investigated NASG expression in the homogeneous tumor cells of NPC (22 samples) and compared it with that in the pure epithelial pillar cells of normal nasopharyngeal (10 samples) by semi-quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (sqRT-PCR). Results The high quality total RNA could be harvested from the microdissected homogeneous tissue cells of the nasopharynx, then sufficient aRNA was derived from it. NASG gene expression was identified using aRNA by sqRT-PCR and showed that there was significant difference between the average value of case groups and that of control group ( t =-5.275, df =30, P <0.001). The NASG gene in the subgroups WHOII tended to express lower levels than those in the subgroup WHOⅢ although this difference was not statistically siginificant ( t =-1.584, df =20, P = 0.129>0.05). Conclusions Microdissection was an effective method to obtain the homogeneous tissue cells of nasopharyngeal tissue (including the samples of NPC and non-NPC) in our study. Sufficient aRNA from amplifiying total RNA could be used in sqRT-PCR to analyse the expression of NASG in the pure tissue cells. | 19 | Evidence-based treatment for acute spinal cord injury显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To formulate an evidence-based treatment for one patient with acute spinal cord injury and summarize evidence for evaluating acute spinal cord injury treatment.METHODS:Studies related to the treatment for acute spinal cord injury were identified via a search of National Guideline Clearinghouse (NGC,2000-11),the Cochrane Library (Issue 1,2011),TRIP Database (2000-11),and PubMed (1966-2011).Treatment strategies were formulated according to three basic principles:best evidence,doctor's professional experience,and wishes of the patient.RESULTS:A total of 34 articles were selected,including 1 NGC guideline,22 systematic reviews,and 11 randomized controlled trials.Based on our review,we arrived at the following recommenda-tions:no clinical evidence exists definitively to recommend the use of any of neuroprotective pharmaceuticals;surgery should be undertaken early;mechanical compression devices and low-molecular weight heparin should be employed to prevent thrombosis;respiratory muscle training is beneficial for pulmonary function and quality of life;and functional electrical stimulation and acupuncture can promote functional recovery.The patient accordingly underwent surgery 6 hours after trauma without receiving any neuroprotective pharmaceuticals;low-molecular weight heparin and intermittent pneumatic compression were applied to prevent thrombosis.He also underwent respiratory muscle training daily for 8 weeks and received functional electrical stimulation for 15 minutes and acupuncture for 30 minutes every day.After follow-up for 3 months,the above thera-peutic regimen was confirmed efficacious for acute spinal cord injury.CONCLUSION:Evidence-based medicine provides an individualized treatment protocol for acute spinal cord injury,which can significantly improve the therapeutic effect and prognosis. | Zhouming Deng Jiajia Su Lin Cai Ansong Ping Wei Jin Renxiong Wei Yan Zhan | 2011 | Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,23: | 1 |
