1Picroside Ⅱ down-regulates matrix metalloproteinase-9 expression following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury in rats显示文摘Studies have shown that Picroside II attenuates inflammatory reactions following brain ischemia through the inhibition of the TLR-4-NF-κB signal transduction pathway,and ameliorates cerebral edema through the reduction of aquaporin-4 expression.Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9),located downstream of the TLR-4-NF-κB signal transduction pathway,can degrade the neurovascular matrix,damage the blood-brain barrier to induce cerebral edema,and directly result in neuronal apoptosis and brain injury.Therefore,the present study further observed MMP-9 expression in the brain tissues of rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury following Picroside II treatment.Results demonstrated that Picroside II significantly reduced MMP-9 expression in ischemic brain tissues,as well as neuronal apoptosis and brain infarct volume,suggesting Picroside II exhibits neuroprotection by down-regulating MMP-9 expression and inhibiting cell apoptosis.Xiang Li Xinying Xu Zhen Li Yunliang Guo Qin Li Xiaodan Li Zhen Zhou 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,18:13
2Chronic intermittent hypoxia accelerates liver fibrosis in rats with combined hypoxia and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis via angiogenesis rather than endoplasmic reticulum stress显示文摘In the present study,we aimed to investigate the role of endoplasmic reticulum stress(ERS)and its related inflammation and angiogenesis in liver fibrosis in a rat model of combined hypoxia and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)and to confirm whether the intervention of hypoxia-inducible factor 1α(HIF1α)can improve fibrosis.Liver histological changes and biochemical indices,HIF1α,inflammatory factors,ERS-related parameters(GRP78,CHOP,caspase-3,and caspase-12),and angiogenesis indices(VEGFA,VEGFR2,and CD34)were evaluated.Compared with the control rats,the liver tissue of rats with hypoxia and NASH had obvious NASH characteristics and hepatic fibrosis was significantly aggravated,including bridging fibrosis in some rats.The mRNA expression levels of HIF1α,VEGFA,and VEGFR2 and total immunohistochemical staining scores of VEGFR2 and CD34 were significantly increased.In addition,HIF1α silencing significantly decreased HIF1α,biochemical indices(ALT,AST,and TG),inflammatory factors(TNFα,IL6,and IL1β),and angiogenesis indices(CD34 and VEGFR2),consequently,improved the hepatic fibrosis score in the rat model of combined hypoxia and NASH.Taken together,chronic intermittent hypoxia accelerates liver fibrosis in rats with combined hypoxia and NASH via angiogenesis rather than ERS and HIF1α intervention can improve liver fibrosis,angiogenesis,inflammatory factors,and biochemical indices.Therefore,HIF1α is a key regulatory factor of liver fibrosis in rats with combined hypoxia and NASH.Wei Wu Weiping Li Jiaojiao Wei Chunsheng Wang Yunliang Yao Weihua Zhu Weimei He Weimei Zhou Jiang Liu 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,2:8
3Anti-oxidant effect of picroside II in a rat model of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘Picroside II,the major active component of picroside,has been shown to induce PC12 cell axonal growth and relieve free radical damage.In vivo experiments have demonstrated that picroside II can improve neurological function in rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injuries.In the present in vivo study,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and immunohistochemistry revealed that picroside II increased superoxide dismutase content and reduced inducible nitric oxide synthase content in the ischemic hemisphere.The effects of picroside II were similar to those of salvianic acid A sodium,an active control drug.These results indicate that picroside II exerts a neuroprotective effect,possibly by downregulating inducible nitric oxide synthase expression,increasing superoxide dismutase activity,and inhibiting neuronal apoptosis.Li Sun Xiaodan Li Ling Wang Lihua Qin Yunliang Guo Zhen Zhou 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,15:8
4Morphology of polar ionospheric O^+ ion upflow: FAST observations during quiet time显示文摘With energetic ion measurements on FAST satellite, the morphologic features of quiet-time ionospheric O+ ion upflowing at altitudes of 2000 to 4000 km are drawn out for the first time. The pre-noon cusp/cleft is the predominant region of upflowing occurrence for O+ with lower energy. Meanwhile the pre-dawn sector near the equatorward edge of the plasma convection dominates the occurrence for the higher energy O+ ions. No matter whether the energy is lower or higher, the upflows occur often over a wide MLT range of lower latitudes outside the auroral oval. The upflowing within the pre-midnight (21:00― 22:00 MLT) auroral oval carrys larger energy fluxes, with extremely large fluxes for higher energy O+ appearing near the polar cap boundary. For altitudes of 2000―4200 km under observation, the ion conics occur much more frequently than ion beams. 5Reflections on the Catastrophic 2020 Yangtze River Basin Flooding in Southern China显示文摘During the summer of 2020,southern China suffered from catastrophic flooding,the massive basin flood mainly occurred in the Yangtze River's middle and lower reaches.As of July 20,2020,the cumulative precipitation since the rain season started exceeded 500 mm over most of the Yangtze River Basin,reaching>1,200 mm in some areas of the lower reaches,exceeding the same period in 1998,the severest flood year in the past 60 years.Several water gauge stations at Poyang Lake and Chaohu Lake exceeded their historical record values.The water levels in the Wuhan section of the Yangtze River were among the highest ever recorded.As of July 22,2020,45.5 million people had been affected by the floods,with 142 people having died or were missing,and the direct economic losses expected to be around 116 billion RMB(~16.5 billion US dollars).However,the losses from this flood are much lower than those of previous major floods.For example,the catastrophic 1998 flooding led to 1,526 deaths and economic losses of 255 billion RMB(~36.4 billion US dollars).The reasons behind this are worthy of further study and discussion,and may be used for reference in the future and for other countries.Ke Wei Chaojun Ouyang Hongtao Duan Yunliang Li Mingxing Chen Jiao Ma Huicong An Shu Zhou 2020The Innovation2020,1,2:2
6Prediction of SYM-H index by NARX neural network from IMF and solar wind data显示文摘SYM-H is one of the important indices for space weather. It indicates the intensity of magnetic storm, similarly to Dst index but with much higher time-resolution. In this paper an artificial neural network (ANN) of Nonlinear Auto Regressive with eXogenous inputs (NARX) has been developed to predict SYM-H index from solar wind and IMF data. In comparison with usual BP and Elman network, the new NRAX model shows much better prediction capability. For 15 testing great storms including 5 super-storms of Min. SYM-H < -200 nT, the cross-correlation of SYM-H indices between NARX network predicted and really observed is 0.91 as a whole. For the 5 individual super-storms, the lowest coefficients is 0.91 relating to the super-storm of March 2001 with Min.SYM-H of -434 nT; while for the two super-storms with Min. SYM-H ranging from -300 nT to -400 nT, the correlations reach as high as 0.93 and 0.96 respectively. The remarkable improvement of the model performance can be attributed to such a key feedback from the network output of SYM-H with a suitable length (about 120 min) to the input, which implies that some information on the quasi real-time ring currents with a proper length of history does its work in the prediction. It tells us that, in addition to the direct driving by solar wind and IMF, the own status of the ring current plays an important role in its evolution especially for recovery phase and must properly be considered in storm-time SYM-H prediction by ANN. 8BiVO_(4)/TiO_(2) heterojunction with rich oxygen vacancies for enhanced electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction显示文摘The large-scale production of ammonia mainly depends on the Haber-Bosch process,which will lead to the problems of high energy consumption and carbon dioxide emission.Electrochemical nitrogen fixation is considered to be an environmental friendly and sustainable process,but its efficiency largely depends on the activity and stability of the catalyst.Therefore,it is imperative to develop high-efficient electrocatalysts in the field of nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR).In this paper,we developed a BiVO_(4)/TiO_(2) nanotube(BiVO_(4)/TNT)heterojunction composite with rich oxygen vacancies as an electrocatalytic NRR catalyst.The heterojunction interface and oxygen vacancy of BiVO_(4)/TNT can be the active site of N2 dynamic activation and proton transition.The synergistic effect of TiO_(2) and BiVO_(4) shortens the proton transport path and reduces the over potential of chemical reaction.BiVO_(4)/TNT has high ammonia yield of 8.54µg·h^(−1)·cm^(−2) and high Faraday efficiency of 7.70%in−0.8 V vs.RHE in 0.1 M Na_(2)SO_(4) solution.Yunliang Liu Peiji Deng Ruqiang Wu Ramadan A.Geioushy Yaxi Li Yixian Liu Fengling Zhou Haitao Li Chenghua Sun 2021Frontiers of physics2021,16,5:1
9Field-aligned current distribution and response to interplanetary conditions during a superstorm——CHAMP observation显示文摘With geomagnetic measurements on board of CHAMP satellite, the characteristics of global large-scale field-aligned currents (FACs) in the topside ionosphere are investigated along with their responses to interplanetary conditions for the superstorm of November, 2003. It is found that (1) The storm-time FAC densities enhanced greatly in comparison with quiet period and the enhancements show hemispheric asymmetry of both summer-winter and sunlit-dark. (2) For the first time, it is revealed that the lati-tude-integrated FAC density is controlled mainly by solar wind dynamic pressure rather than IMF. (3) FACs expanded equatorward dramatically, with the lowest latitude being 45° MLat or more; on the day-side this expansion was controlled directly by IMF Bz, showing an interaction time scale of about 25 min in the solar wind-magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling system, and a nonlinear saturation of the equatorward expansion when IMF Bz < -30 nT; while on the nightside, the expansion and recovery lagged about 3 h behind the IMF changes but nearly in phase with changes of SYM-H index. 12Energy and carbon performance of urban buildings using metamodeling variable importance techniques显示文摘Global urbanization causes more environmental stresses in cities and energy efficiency is one of major concerns for urban sustainability.The variable importance techniques have been widely used in building energy analysis to determine key factors influencing building energy use.Most of these applications,however,use only one type of variable importance approaches.Therefore,this paper proposes a procedure of conducting two types of variable importance analysis(predictive and variance-based)to determine robust and effective energy saving measures in urban buildings.These two variable importance methods belong to metamodeling techniques,which can significantly reduce computational cost of building energy simulation models for urban buildings.The predictive importance analysis is based on the prediction errors of metamodels to obtain importance rankings of inputs,while the variance-based variable importance can explore non-linear effects and interactions among input variables based on variance decomposition.The campus buildings are used to demonstrate the application of the method proposed to explore characteristic of heating energy,cooling energy,electricity,and carbon emissions of buildings.The results indicate that the combination of two types of metamodeling variable importance analysis can provide fast and robust analysis to improve energy efficiency of urban buildings.The carbon emissions can be reduced approximately 30%after using a few of effective energy efficiency measures and more aggressive measures can lead to the 60%of reduction of carbon emissions.Moreover,this research demonstrates the application of parallel computing to expedite building energy analysis in urban environment since more multi-core computers become increasingly available.Yunliang Liu Wei Tian Xiang Zhou 2021Building Simulation2021,14,3:1

146-46 Research Progress of a 100 MeV Electron Linac for High Energy Electron Radiography显示文摘High Energy Electron Radiography (HEER) is a new method suitable for High Energy Density Physics (HEDP) research that uses a high energy electron beam as a probe for time resolved imaging measurements of high energy density processes in materials[1]. A high energy electron imaging research platform based on a 100 MeV Electron Linac (e-Linac) which was designed for experimental research of HEER has been proposed by Electron Accelerator Group in IMP. This e-Linac has two injection beam lines. One is a thermionic RF gun with Alpha magnet and quadrupole magnets, and the other is a photo-cathode RF gun with emittance compensation solenoid(Fig. 1), and parameters details is shown in Table 1.
