3Crystallization-induced phosphorescence of benzils at room temperature显示文摘Efficient room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) is rarely observed in pure organic luminogens. However, we have newly observed that benzil and its derivatives are nonluminescent in solvents and thin layer chromatography (TLC) plates, but become highly phosphorescent in crystal state at room temperature, exhibiting typical crystallization-induced phosphorescence (CIP) characteristics. The CIP phenomenon is ascribed to the restriction of intramolecular rotations in crystals owing to effective intermolecular interactions. 6A gelable pure organic luminogen with fluorescence-phosphorescence dual emission显示文摘Pure organic luminogens with room temperature phosphorescence(RTP) have drawn much attention due to their fundamental importance and promising applications in optoelectronic devices, bioimaging, sensing, etc. Fluorescence-phosphorescence dual emission at room temperature, however, is rarely observed in pure organic materials. Herein, we reported a metal-and heavy-atom free pure organic luminogen with tert-butyl groups, DtBuCZBP, which is ready to form organogels in dimethylsulfoxide(DMSO).It emits prompt and delayed fluorescence, as well as RTP, namely dual emission in as-prepared solid, gels and polymeric films.To the best of our knowledge, it is the first example of metal-and heavy-atom free pure organic gelator with RTP emission. 9Prediction of decline in shale gas well production using stable carbon isotope technique显示文摘Prediction of shale gas production is a challenging task because of the complex fracture-pore networks and gas flow mechanisms in shale reservoirs.Empirical methods,which are used in the industry to forecast the future production of shale gas,have not been assessed sufficiently to warrant high confidence in their results.Methane carbon isotopic signals have been used for producing gas wells,and are controlled by physical properties and physics-controlling production;they serve as a unique indicator of the gas production status.Here,a workable process,which is combined with a gas isotope interpretation tool(also known as a numerical simulator),has been implemented in Longrnaxi shale gas wells to predict the production decline curves.The numerical simulator,which takes into account a convection-diffu-sion-adsorption model for the matrix and a convection model for fractures in^(13)CH_(4) and ^(12)CH_(4) isotopologues,was used to stabilize the carbon isotope variation in the produced gas to elucidate gas recovery.Combined with the production rates of the four developing wells,the total reserves ranged from 1.72×10^(8) to 2.02×10^(8) m^(3),which were used to constrain the trend of two-segment produc-tion decline curves that exhibited a transition from a hyperbolic equation to an exponential one within 0.82-0.89 year.Two-segment production decline curves were used to forecast future production and estimate ultimate recovery.Shengxian ZHAO Shujuan KANG Majia ZHENG Shuangfang LU Yunfeng YANG Huanxu ZHANG Yongyang LIU Ziqiang XIA Chenglin ZHANG Haoran HU Di ZHU 2021Frontiers of Earth Science2021,15,4:1

13High efficiency D-A structured luminogen with aggregation-induced emission and mechanochromic characteristics显示文摘A novel luminogen, CZ2TPAN, with typical D-A architecture was obtained. 14Leakage of nuclear material powder from pressure container through a small orifice显示文摘Because of the radioactivity and toxic nature of nuclear materials,their containment within oxide matrices,encased in sealed containers,has been proposed as a suitable means for storage and transportation.However,container failures because of cracks or small orifices present a major leakage risk for nuclear materials,consequently posing a significant hazard to the environment and human beings.In this study,terbium oxide powder was used as a nuclear material representative to examine the leakage of nuclear material powder through orifices located at the base of a pressure container.The dependence of the orifice diameter,the powder layer thickness,and the internal pressure of the container on the leakage mechanism and amount was examined.A simplified model correlating the dependence of the above-mentioned parameters to determine the utmost leakage amount was also developed based on the present results.The leakage of the nuclear material powder was assessed by measuring its concentration using an optical particle counter.The diameter of the orifice determined the powder leakage mechanism,which in turn influenced the amount of leakage produced.Comparison studies showed that unlike the changes in the differential pressure,the volume of the container has little effect on the leakage amount.Under sufficiently high internal pressures,the oxide powder can be released as a fine aerosol.The work is not only crucial from the nuclear safety aspect,but is also beneficial for the safe application of powder and nanoparticles.Longbo Liu Yanmin Wu Yongyang Su Hanbing Tang Zhihong Zhang Ping Huang Lili Zhang Lixing Zhang 2014Particuology2014,12,3:0
15Flexible Dry Hydrogel with Lamella-Like Structure Engineered via Dehydration in Poor Solvent显示文摘Hydrogels are among the most promising biologic materials in recent technology with numerous desired applications,including serving as biosensors,drug delivery vehicles,and tissue-engineered products for cell matrices.However,they often dehydrate,and become stiff and brittle in air,causing loss of flexibility and functions.Several layered structures have been proven to increase the strength,toughness,and even flexibility of these materials,which might provide a new clue for the sustenance of the flexibility of drying gels.Herein,we report a novel solvent-dehydrated hydrogel engineering approach,aimed to change the inner structure and keep the flexibility of a dehydrated hydrogel in the air via solvent-induced dehydration,for example,acetonedehydrated polyacrylic acid hydrogel.This flexible dry gel could be folded,twisted,and stretched without any damage due to the assumed lamella-like structures,contrary to dry gels without these microstructures or those with porous structures,which retain brittle consistency.The flexible dry gel also exhibited excellent self-healing capability with the assistance of solvents.Fascinatingly,this flexible gel film displayed strain-visualizing paper writing/erasing performance properties,with water acting as invisible ink.Thus,this fabricated flexible hydrogel film might function as confidential information storage material.Our current approach is versatile,hence applicable to other hydrogels,and provides insight into the engineering of other functional gels for extended future applications.Feilong Zhang Jiajia Zhou Zhen Gu Man Yang Siheng Li Yongyang Song Jun-Bing Fan Jingxin Meng Peiyi Wu Lei Jiang Shutao Wang 2020CCS Chemistry2020,2,1:0
16Crystallization-induced phosphorescence, remarkable mechanochromism, and grinding enhanced emission of benzophenone-aromatic amine conjugates显示文摘Pure organic luminogens with efficient room temperature phosphorescence(RTP) and remarkable mechanochromism are highly desired in view of their fundamental significance and technical applications. Herein, four twisted pure organic luminogens based on benzophenone and aromatic amines were synthesized and their photophysical properties were thoroughly investigated. They exhibit crystallization-induced phosphorescence(CIP), giving bright fluorescence and phosphorescence dual emission in crystals. Upon grinding, they become amorphous and emit predominantly red-shifted fluorescence, demonstrating remarkable mechanochromism. 17Building block copolymer particles via self‐assembly within a droplet显示文摘The self‐assembly of block copolymers(BCPs)within emulsion droplets is a flexible strategy for the preparation of polymer particles.This strategy permits the finetuning of shapes,internal structures,and surface nanostructures of the polymer particles,thus allowing many applications.Although some literature has reviewed the BCP preparation via self‐assembly within a droplet,a comprehensive summary including in‐depth understanding,controllable preparation,and application is lacked.In this review,we systematically delve into the multiple mechanisms that drive BCP self‐assembly within emulsion droplets,such as commensurability effects for minimizing total free energy,interfacial instability,organized spontaneous emulsification,phase separation of multiple components,and entropy effects between BCPs and nanoparticles.Additionally,a strategy combining selective cross‐linking and disassembly can further generate Janus particles featuring unique structures.Next,various applications across multiple disciplines are discussed,including drug delivery,display,biomedical imaging,macromolecular separation,and fuel cells.Finally,we present an overview of the current challenges and future directions for BCP emulsion self‐assembly,covering mechanism investigation,molecular design,stability control,and application exploration.We anticipate deeper understanding,more varieties,enhanced performance,and broader applications can be achieved with BCP emulsion self‐assembly after addressing the challenge.Sen Zhang Han Bao Xinyi Shen Yongyang Song Shutao Wang 2023Droplet2023,2,4:0
18Intrinsic emission and tunable phosphorescence of perfluorosulfonate ionomers with evolved ionic clusters显示文摘Intrinsic emission from unorthodox luminogens without traditional conjugated building blocks is drawing increasing attention.However,the emission mechanism is still controversial.Herein,we demonstrate the intriguing emission from perfluorosulfonate ionomers(PFSIs),which can be explained by the clustering triggered emission(CTE)mechanism.Despite being free of any conventional chromophores,PFSIs exhibit bright emission and multi-color phosphorescence(77 K)in concentrated solutions,powders and membranes with obvious aggregation-induced emission(AIE)characteristics.Clustered sulfonic acids are responsible for the light emission,and their connection and evolution are deeply explored via X-ray diffraction(XRD)and small angel X-ray scattering(SAXS),in which the electron overlap determined by the clustered status results in the extended conjugation and simultaneously rigidified conformations.These results demonstrate that it is feasible to use fluorescence analysis to explore the ionic cluster structure and evolution of PFSI,and it can be applied in the pure organic luminescent field as well.Qing Zhou Jia Cui Tianjia Yang Changlu Hu Zihao Zhong Zhenhua Sun Yongyang Gong Supeng Pei Yongming Zhang 2020Science China Chemistry2020,63,6:0
