3Effects of Urechis unicinctus Juveniles on Chemical Characteristics of Organically Contaminated Coastal Sediment显示文摘Biological activities of marine benthos such as burrowing and feeding may change sediment characteristics.We conducted three experiments to examine the potential of using juveniles of a spoon worm Urechis unicinctus to improve the quality of organically contaminated coastal sediment.Sediment samples were collected from a site that was heavily contaminated with organic matter (Seonso) and two sites that were clean (Myo-do,Dolsan-do).Urechis juveniles,obtained by artificial fertilization and cultured in the laboratory,were introduced to the sediment (weight 3 kg,depth 10 cm) at a density of 500 individuals per aquarium (length 50 cm,width 35 cm,height 30 cm) (Experiment 1),or at densities ranging from 100 to 900 individuals per beaker (Experiment 2).To examine how sediment contamination can be modified by the effects of Urechis,500 individuals (per aquarium) were exposed to the Seonso contaminated sediment that had been mixed with 0-100% clean sand (Experiment 3).Each experiment lasted two months and sediment samples were collected every 15 d to determine the several indexes of sediment quality,which included acid volatile sulfide (AVS),chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total ignition loss (TIL).In Experiment 1,the existence of Urechis did not result in significant changes in quality indexes in the sediments collected from Myo-do,Dolsan-do.However,AVS,COD and TIL of the Seonso sediment all decreased significantly after co-incubation with Urechis juveniles for 30 to 45 d.Experiment 2 showed that a density of at least 300 juveniles per beaker was necessary to significantly reduce all three quality indexes,and the magnitude of reduction was positively correlated with juvenile density.Experiment 3 revealed that Urechis juveniles were effective in reducing the AVS,COD and TIL of the Seonso sediment that had been mixed with 60%,80%,and 80% of clean sand,respectively.The results of the present study therefore indicated that juveniles of this spoon worm have the potential to be used to improve the quality of organically contaminated sediment in coastal waters.KANG Kyoung Ho ZHANG Zhifeng KIM Jae Mini SEON Seung Chun SHAO Mingyu 2010Journal of Ocean University of China2010,9,1:5
4Effects of Different Application Methods and Application Rates of Biological Nano-Selenium on the Quality of Passion Fruit显示文摘[Objectives]To study the effects of different application methods and application rates of biological nano-selenium on the quality of passion fruit.[Methods]In this experiment,passion fruit Tainong 1 was sprayed with biological nano-selenium.The concentration of spraying refers to the recommended application rate of biological nano-selenium manufacturers.Three treatments with different concentrations were carried out:3,4.5 and 6 L/ha biological nano-selenium was sprayed on 100%root,(50%root+50%leaf surface)and 100%leaf surface of passion fruit,respectively.[Results]From the aspects of economic cost and rational utilization of resources,spraying 3 L/ha selenium fertilizer on the leaves of passion fruit played the best role in improving the quality of passion fruit.[Conclusions]To study the selenium-rich production technology of agricultural products and improve the quality of agricultural products is of great significance for improving human health and producing high-quality agricultural products.Wei HUANG Minying SHEN Zhaoliang LIU Yu ZHANG Daobo WANG 2020Medicinal Plant2020,11,3:5

14Acetylated-PPARγexpression is regulated by different P53 genotypes associated with the adipogenic differentiation of polyploid giant cancer cells with daughter cells显示文摘Objective:Polyploid giant cancer cells(PGCCs)with daughter cells express epithelial–mesenchymal transition(EMT)-associated proteins.Highly malignant tumor cells with EMT properties can transdifferentiate into mature tumor cells.In this study,we elucidated the potential for,and underlying mechanism of,adipogenic differentiation of PGCCs with daughter cells(PDCs).Methods:Cobalt chloride was used to induce PGCC formation in HEY(wild-type P53)and MDA-MB-231(mutant P53)cells;these cells were then cultured in adipogenic differentiation medium.Oil red O staining was used to confirm adipogenic differentiation,and the cell cycle was detected with flow cytometry.The expression of adipogenic differentiation-associated proteins and P300 histone acetyltransferase activity were compared before and after adipogenic differentiation.Animal xenograft models were used to confirm the adipogenic differentiation of PDCs.Results:PDCs transdifferentiated into functional adipocytes.Two different cell cycle distributions were observed in PDCs after adipogenic differentiation.The expression levels of PPARγ,Ace-PPARγ,and Ace-P53 were higher in PDCs after adipogenic differentiation than in cells before adipogenic differentiation.Ace-PPARγand FABP4 expression increased in HEY cells and decreased in MDA-MB-231 PDCs after p53 knockdown.A485 treatment increased Ace-P53,Ace-PPARγ,and FABP4 expression in HEY PDCs by inhibiting SUMOylation of P53.In MDA-MB-231 PDCs,A485 treatment decreased Ace-P53,Ace-PPARγ,and FABP4 expression.Animal experiments also confirmed the adipogenic differentiation of PDCs.Conclusions:Acetylation of P53 and PPARγplays an important role in the adipogenic differentiation of PDCs.Kexin Zhang Xiaohui Yang Minying Zheng Yidi Ning Shiwu Zhang 2023Cancer Biology & Medicine2023,20,1:1
15Molecular Design and Immunogenicity of a Multiple-epitope FMDV Antigen and DNA Vaccination显示文摘This article reports the design and construction of a multiple-epitope foot and mouth disease virus (FMDV) antigen, designated as OAAT. This recombinant antigen consists of the structural protein VP1 genes from serotypes A and O FMDV, five major VP1 immunodominant epitopes from two genotypes of Asia1 serotype, and three Th2 epitopes originating from the nonstructural protein, three ABC gene and structural protein VP4 gene. Expressions of target gene from these plasmids in HeLa cells were verified by Western-blot. BALB/c mice were immunized intramuscularly with the DNA vaccines thrice every two weeks. We found that pA could induce simultaneously specific antibodies against serotypes A, Asia1, and O FMDV. Compared to those of the controls, the spots of FMDV-specific IFN-γ and cytotoxic activity from mice immunized with pA were significantly increased. pA provided full protection in 2/4 guinea pigs from challenge with FMDV O/NY00 and Asia1/YNBS/58, respectively. 16Spatial Thermal Crack Control in Mass Concrete显示文摘The finite element software,MIDAS is used to predict the distribution of temperatures and,analyzes the cracking control methods within a hydrating mass concrete.The temperature control of mass concrete has great significance in assuring the project quality.Adiabatic or semi adiabatic temperature measurement is mostly used for measuring and controlling the temperature fluctuation during construction.The temperature distribution produced by the finite element thermal analysis of the model is used to quantify the maximum allowable internal temperature difference before crack initiation on concrete.This study analyzes the data from one high-rise structure project in Shanghai are used to verify the finite element model developed.Results suggest that reliance on a limiting maximum temperature differential to control cracking in massive concrete applications should be supplemented with a requirement for analysis showing the calculated spatial temperature and stress response to the predicted temperature distribution within the concrete,to ensure that the induced tensile stresses will not exceed the tensile strength of the concrete and so minimize the risk of having thermal cracks at early age.Munishi Fred Abel ZHANG Shengdong LI Minying 2012结构工程师2012,28,6:0
17Liquid-metals-induced formation of MXene/polyacrylamide composite organohydrogels for wearable flexible electronics显示文摘Organohydrogels have demonstrated superior environmental adaptability and frost resistance compared to conventional hydrogels,thereby prompting considerable interests in the development and design of innovative organohydrogels.Herein,we report an effective one-pot method for fabricating MXene/polyacrylamide(MXene/PAM)composite organohydrogel(MAOH)by employing Ga liquid metals(Ga LMs)as a highly reactive component in the induced free radical polymerization reaction,without the need for additional heating or cross-linking agents.This synthetic protocol addresses the time-consuming and organic solvent waste concerns associated with traditional solvent displacement methods for organohydrogel preparation.The incorporation of MXene not only highly enhances the conductivity but also confers improved mechanical properties of MAOH.The MAOH exhibits excellent environmental adaptability(>7 d),sustained moisture retention,remarkable self-healing capabilities,and outstanding mechanical properties under low temperatures(-20℃).It demonstrates exceptional performance in micro-motion monitoring,rapid response time(125 ms),superior stretchability,and a broad range of strains(0.3%–600%).Therefore,the designed MAOH has great potential for applications in diverse fields such as prosthetics,electronic skin,human–machine interaction,and smart terminals.Minying Wu Bin Chen Xueliang Fan Tong Ye Yuanyuan Fang Qian Zhang Fangzhou Zhou Yajun Wang Yi Tang 2024Nano Research2024,17,3:0
18Regulation of antiviral innate immunity by deubiquitinase CYLD显示文摘An antiviral innate immune response involves induction of type I interferons(IFNs)and their subsequent autocrine and paracrine actions,but the underlying regulatory mechanisms are incompletely understood.Here we report that CYLD,a deubiquitinase that specifically digests lysine 63-linked ubiquitin chains,is required for antiviral host defense.Loss of CYLD renders mice considerably more susceptible to infection by vesicular stomatitis virus(VSV).Consistently,CYLD-deficient dendritic cells are more sensitive to VSV infection.This functional defect was not due to lack of type I IFN production but rather because of attenuated IFN receptor signaling.In the absence of CYLD,IFN-b is ineffective in the induction of antiviral genes and protection of cells from viral infection.These findings establish CYLD as a novel regulator of antiviral innate immunity and suggest a role for CYLD in regulating IFN receptor signaling.Minying Zhang Andrew J Lee Xuefeng Wu Shao-Cong Sun 2011Cellular & Molecular Immunology2011,8,6:0
