| 1 | Effects of dietary supplementation of probiotic,Clostridium butyricum,on growth performance,immune response,intestinal barrier function,and digestive enzyme activity in broiler chickens challenged with Escherichia coli K88显示文摘Background:Colibacillosis caused by enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli(E.coli) results in economic losses in the poultry industry.Antibiotics are usually used to control colibacillosis,however,E.coli has varying degrees of resistance to different antibiotics.Therefore the use of probiotics is becoming accepted as an alternative to antibiotics.In this study,we evaluated the effects of Clostridium butyricum(C.butyricum) on growth performance,immune response,intestinal barrier function,and digestive enzyme activity in broiler chickens challenged with Escherichia coli(E.coif) K88.Methods:The chickens were randomly divided into four treatment groups for 28 days.Negative control treatment(NC) consisted of birds fed a basal diet without E.coli K88 challenge and positive control treatment(PC) consisted of birds fed a basal diet and challenged with E.coli K88.C.butyricum probiotic treatment(CB) consisted of birds fed a diet containing 2×10~7 cfu C butyricum/kg of diet and challenged with E.coli K88.Colistin sulfate antibiotic treatment(CS)consisted of birds fed a diet containing 20 mg colistin sulfate/kg of diet and challenged with E.coli K88.Results:The body weight(BW) and average day gain(ADG) in the broilers of CB group were higher(P< 0.05) than the broilers in the PC group overall except the ADG in the 14-21 d post-challenge.The birds in CB treatment had higher(P < 0.05) concentration of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) at 3 and 7 d post-challenge,and higher(P < 0.05)concentration of interleukin-4(IL-4) at 14 d post-challenge than those in the PC treatment group.The concentration of serum endotoxin in CB birds was lower(P<0.05) at 21 d post-challenge,and the concentrations of serum diamine oxidase in CB birds were lower(P < 0.05) at 14 and 21 d post-challenge than in PC birds.Birds in CB treatment group had higher(P< 0.05) jejunum villi height than those in PC,NC,or CS treatment at 7,14,and 21 d post-challenge.In comparison to PC birds,the CB birds had lower(P < 0.05) jejunum crypt depth during the whole experiment.The birds in CB or CS treatment group had higher(P < 0.05) activities of amylase and protease at 3,7,and 14 d post-challenge,and higher(P< 0.05) activity of lipase at 3,7 d post-challenge than PC birds.Conclusions:In all,these results indicate that dietary supplementation with C.butyricum promotes immune response,improves intestinal barrier function,and digestive enzyme activities in broiler chickens challenged with E.coli K88.There is no significant difference between the C.butyricum probiotic treatment and the colistin sulfate antibiotic treatment.Therefore,the C.butyricum probiotic may be an alternative to antibiotic for broiler chickens. | Ling Zhang Lingling Zhang Xiu'an Zhan Xinfu Zeng Lin Zhou Guangtian Cao An'guo Chen Caimei Yang | 2016 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2016,7,1: | 43 |
| 2 | Seismotectonics of the 26 November 2005 Jiujiang-Ruichang,Jiangxi,Ms 5.7 Earthquake显示文摘The 26 November 2005 Jiujiang-Ruichang,Jiangxi,Ms 5.7 earthquake occurred in a seismotectonic setting of moderate earthquake.The northwest-trending Xiangfan-Guangji fault(XFG) does not enter into the epicenter vicinity,but the northeast-trending Ruichang-Wuning fault(RWF) as a regional fault extends to the epicenter nearby,appearing as the Ruichang basin and its marginal faults.Tilting of the Ruichang Basin(RCB) in the Quaternary was controlled by the RCB southeast-marginal,buried fault(RSMBF).Shallow geophysical survey reveals that the RSMBF caused an offset of the reflection layers.Drill hole columnar section demonstrates that there are about 10-12 m displacement in the lower section of the middle-Pleistocene Series along the RSMBF,but no disruption is found in the upper section of the middle-Pleistocene Series.The RSMBF not only has activity in the Quaternary,but also coincides with the nodal plane I from the focal mechanism of the Jiujiang-Ruichang Ms 5.7 earthquake.This evidence,including aftershock distribution and isoseismic lines,strongly suggests that the RSMBF might be the seismogenic tectonics.The RWF is discontinuous at the surface,and consists of three en echelon Quaternary basins,which are the Ruichang,Fanzhen and Wuning basins.Three moderate earthquakes,the Fanzhen ML 4.9 earthquake,the Yejiapu ML 4.1 earthquake and the Jiujiang-Ruichang Ms 5.7 earthquake,have happened in the basins since 1995.The seismogenic tectonics of the Jiujiang-Ruichang Ms 5.7 earthquake is not isolated,but may be controlled by the RWF at depth,the slip of which causes the accumulation of energy for earthquake occurrence. | HAN Zhujun LUFushui JI Fengju ZENG Xinfu An Yanfen | 2012 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2012,86,2: | 6 |
| 3 | Rayleigh wave phase velocities of South China block and its adjacent areas显示文摘Using records of continuous seismic waveforms from 609 broadband seismic stations in the South China Block and its adjacent areas in 2010–2012, empirical Green's functions of surface waves were obtained from cross-correlation functions of ambient noise data between these stations. High quality phase velocity dispersion curves of Rayleigh waves were obtained using time-frequency analysis. These interstation dispersion curves were then inverted to build Rayleigh wave phase velocity maps at periods of 6–50 s. The results of phase velocity maps indicate that phase velocities at 6–10 s periods are correlated with the geological features in the upper crust. Major basins and small-scale grabens and basins display slow velocity anomalies; while most of the orogenic belts and the fold belts display high velocity anomalies. With the gravity gradient zone along Taihang Mountain to Wuling Mountain as the boundary for the phase velocity maps at period of 20–30 s, the western area mainly displays low velocity anomalies, while the eastern side shows high velocity anomalies. Phase velocities in the eastern South China Block south to the Qinling-Dabie orogenic belt is higher than that in the eastern North China Block to the north, which is possibly due to the differences of tectonic mechanisms between the North China Craton and the South China Block. The phase velocities at periods of40–50 s are possibly related to the lateral variations of the velocity structure in the lower crust and upper mantle: The low-velocity anomalies in the eastern part of the Tibetan Plateau are caused by the thick crust; while the Sichuan Basin and the southern part of the Ordos Basin display distinct high-velocity anomalies, reflecting the stable features of the lithosphere in these blocks. The lateral variation pattern of phase velocities in the southern part of the South China Block is not consistent with the surface trace of the block boundary in the eastern Yunnan Province and its vicinities. The phase velocities in the Sichuan Basin are overall slow at short periods and gradually increase with period from the central part to the edge of the basin, indicating the features of shallower basement in the center and overall stable lithospheric mantle of the basin. The middle and upper crust of the southern Ordos Basin in the North China Block is heterogeneous, while in lower crust and the uppermost mantle the phase velocities mainly exhibit high anomalies. | 4 | Chemotherapy drugs derived nanoparticles encapsulating mRNA encoding tumor suppressor proteins to treat triple-negative breast cancer显示文摘Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)is one type of the most aggressive breast can cers with poor prog no sis.It is of great urgency to develop new therapeutics for treati ng TNBC.Based on curre nt treatment guideline and genetic informatio n of TNBC,a combi nation al therapy platform in tegrati ng chemotherapy drugs and mRNA encoding tumor suppressor proteins may become an efficacious strategy.In this study,we developed paclitaxel amino lipid(PAL)derived nanoparticles(NPs)to incorporate both chemotherapy drugs and P53 mRNA.The PAL P53 mRNA NPs showed superior properties compared to Abraxane? and Lipusu? used in the clinic including high paclitaxel loading capacity(24 wt.%,calculated by paclitaxel in PAL),PAL encapsulation efficiency(94.7%±6.8%)and mRNA encapsulation efficiency(88.7%±0.7%).Meanwhile,these NPs displayed synergetic cytotoxicity of paclitaxel and P53 mRNA in cultured TNBC cells.More importantly,we demonstrated in vivo anti-tumor efficacy of PAL P53 mRNA NPs in an orthotopic TNBC mouse model.Overall,these chemotherapy drugs derived mRNA NPs provide a new platform to integrate chemotherapy and personalized medicine using tumor genetic information,and therefore represent a promising approach for TNBC treatment. | Chengxiang Zhang Xinfu Zhang Weiyu Zhao Chunxi Zeng Wenqing Li Bin Li Xiao Luo Junan Li Justin Jiang Binbin Deng David W. | 5 | Shear-wave Splitting of Aftershocks of the M_S 5.7 Jiujiang-Ruichang Earthquake显示文摘Shear wave splitting is studied based on the digital waveforms of three seismic stations DJS, SZD and WUJ, which were set up after the Jiujiang-Ruichang MS5.7 earthquake of November 26, 2005 around the epicenter area. The result shows that the time delays of slow shear waves of the DJS station, which is not far from the epicenter and where the distribution of faults is complex near the station, are relatively larger and the polarization directions of fast shear waves are not concentrated; the predominant polarization direction of fast shear waves of WUJ station, with single fault distributed nearby, has a difference of 35° to the strike of the fault and is inconsistent with the direction of regional principal compressive stress. The predominant polarization direction of fast shear waves of SZD station with no faults nearby is in accordance with regional principal compressive stress. | 6 | Discussion on the Precise Relocation and Seismo-Tectonics of the Jiujiang-Ruichang Earthquake显示文摘Based on relocating the Jiujiang-Ruichang earthquake sequence which occurred on November 26,2005 in Jiangxi Province with the double-difference(DD)algorithm and master event technique,the paper discusses the focal mechanism of the main shock(M_S5.7)and the probable seismo-tectonics.The precise relocation results indicate that the average horizontal error is 0.31km in a EW direction and 0.40km in a NS direction,and the average depth error is 0.48km.The focal depths vary from 8km to 14km,with the predominant distribution at 10km~12km.The epicenter of the main shock is relocated to be 29.69°N,115.74°E and the focal depth is about 10.8km.Combining the predominant distribution of the earthquake sequence,the focal mechanism of the main shock and the tectonic conditions of NE-and NW-strike faults growth in the seismic region,we infer that the main shock of the earthquake sequence was caused by a NW striking buried fault in the Ruichang basin.The nature of seismic faults needs to be further explored. | Tu Jian Ni Sidao Shen Xiaoqi Gao Jianhua Zeng Xinfu | 2008 | Earthquake Research in China2008,22,1: | 0 |
