| 1 | Lentinan prolonged survival in patients with gastric cancer receiving S-1-based chemotherapy显示文摘AIM:To examine whether administration of lentinan,purifiedβ-1,3-glucan,can prolong survival in advanced gastric cancer patients receiving S-1-based chemotherapy.METHODS:Since 2004,78 patients with metastatic or recurrent gastric cancer have received S-1-based chemotherapy as first-line treatment.Survival,side effects,and the ratio of granulocytes/lymphocytes(G/L ratio)were compared between 2 groups of patients who received chemo-immunotherapy using lentinan and chemotherapy alone.RESULTS:Median overall survival was significantly longer in the former group than in the latter group[689 d(95%CI:431-2339 d)vs 565 d(95%CI:323-662 d),P=0.0406].In addition,the G/L ratio in patients who received lentinan was maintained around or below 2,which was significantly lower than that in patients who received chemotherapy alone(P<0.001).CONCLUSION:Chemo-immunotherapy with lentinan offers a significant advantage over S-1-based chemotherapy alone in terms of survival in patients with advanced gastric cancer. | Kenji Ina Ryuichi Furuta Takae Kataoka Satoshi Kayukawa Takashi Yoshida Takaya Miwa Yoshitaka Yamamura Yuuki Takeuchi | 2011 | World Journal of Clinical Oncology2011，2，10： | 10 |
| 2 | Retrocaval liver lifting maneuver and modifications of total hepatic vascular exclusion for liver tumor resection显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of technical modifications of total hepatic vascular exclusion(THVE) for hepatectomy involving inferior vena cava(IVC).METHODS: Of 301 patients who underwent hepatectomy during the immediate previous 5-year period, 8(2.7%) required THVE or modified methods of IVC cross-clamping for resection of liver tumors with massive involvement of the IVC. Seven of the patients had diagnosis of colorectal liver metastases and 1 had diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma. All tumors involved the IVC, and THVE was unavoidable for combined resection of the IVC in all 8 of the patients. Technical modifications of THVE were applied to minimize the extent and duration of vascular occlusion, thereby reducing the risk of damage.RESULTS: Broad dissection of the space behind the IVC coupled with lifting up of the liver from the retrocaval space was effective for controlling bleeding around the IVC before and during THVE. The procedures facilitate modification of the positioning of the cranial IVC cross-clamp. Switching the cranial IVC cross-clamp from supra- to retrohepatic IVC or to the confluence of hepatic vein decreased duration of the THVE while restoring hepatic blood flow or systemic circulation via the IVC. Oblique cranial IVC cross-clamping avoided ischemia of the remnant hemi-liver. With these technicalmodifications, the mean duration of THVE was 13.4 ± 8.4 min, which was extremely shorter than that previously reported in the literature. Recovery of liver function was smooth and uneventful for all 8 patients. | 3 | 促红细胞生成素(Epo)及其受体(EpoR)在正常及碱烧伤诱导的鼠新生血管化角膜上的表达(英文)显示文摘目的:促红细胞生成素(Epo)是促红细胞生成的因子,由胎儿肝脏和成人肾脏产生,是贫血及缺氧时的一种应答反应。视网膜异常血管形成,如早产儿视网膜病变(ROP),增殖性糖尿病性视网膜病变(PDR)时Epo水平增高,提示Epo在病理性眼部血管生成中的作用。Epo参与视网膜血管生成,但其与角膜新生血管是否有关尚未见报道。本研究旨在探讨Epo/EpoR是否在正常和新生血管化角膜表达及角膜内注射Epo是否可诱发角膜新生血管的产生,从而了解其与角膜新生血管的联系。方法:(1)制备碱烧伤诱导鼠角膜新生血管模型,免疫组织化学的方法检测Epo及EpoR是否在正常角膜及新生血管化角膜表达;(2) Epo的克隆、表达及纯化;(3)角膜基质内分别注射Epo(6μL,1μg)及Epo对照(载体对照)及盐水,第14d观察角膜是否有新生血管产生。结果:Epo及EpoR在正常角膜及碱诱发的新生血管化角膜的角膜上皮细胞,角膜内皮细胞,基质细胞均有表达,并在新生血管化角膜表达加强,同时也在基质内炎症细胞及新生血管均有表达。角膜基质内注射Epo后第14d,6眼中5眼产生新生血管,对照组6眼均未见新生血管。结论:本文首次报道了Epo及其受体表达于正常角膜和新生血管化角膜。角膜内注射注射Epo可诱发角膜新生血管。Epo及其受体系统与角膜新生血管化的形成有关。 | 罗灵 Yuuki Kaminoh 陈浩宇 张卯年 张康 Balamurali K Ambati | 2008 | 国际眼科杂志2008，8，5： | 3 |
| 4 | Macrophage colony-stimulating factor expressed in non-cancer tissues provides predictive powers for recurrence in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM To investigate the role of macrophage colony-stimulating factor(M-CSF) in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) after surgery. METHODS Expression of M-CSF, distribution of M2 macrophages(Mφs), and angiogenesis were assessed in the liver, including tumors and peritumoral liver tissues. The prognostic power of these factors was assessed. Mouse isolated hepatic Mφs or monocytes were cultured with media containing M-CSF. The concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in media was assessed. Furthermore, the role of the M-CSF-matured hepatic Mφs on proliferation of the vascular endothelial cell(VEC) was investigated. RESULTS A strong correlation between the expressions of M-CSF and CD163 was observed in the peritumoral area. Also, groups with high density of M-CSF, CD163 or CD31 showed a significantly shorter time to recurrence(TTR) than low density groups. Multivariate analysis revealedthe expression of M-CSF or hepatic M2Mφs in the peritumoral area as the most crucial factor responsible for shorter TTR. Moreover, the expression of M-CSF and hepatic M2Mφs in the peritumoral area had better predictable power of overall survival. Values of VEGF in culture media were significantly greater in the hepatic Mφs compared with the monocytes.
