1Coal and gas outburst mechanism of the “Three Soft” coal seam in western Henan显示文摘Based on the particularities of gas outbursts,i.e.,low gas bearing capacity and low gas pressure in the 'Three Soft' coal seam in western Henan,we applied the theories of plate tectonics and regional structural evolution to investigate the mechanism of this seam and its impact on the coal seam gas formation.Our investigation revealed that coal and gas outbursts are distributed in a strip in a NW direction,with a number of high-penetration mines scattered towards the south side and low-gas mines largely located on the north side.We analyzed the statistics of 38 gas explosions and the rock-coal sturdiness number coefficient f of 167 sampling sites in the region and found the gas outburst mechanism that features a 'low indicator outburst phenomenon'.The mechanism is characterized by structural coal as its core,a low gas bearing capacity,low gas pressure and sturdiness coefficient f mostly less than 0.3.Our research results provide a theoretical foundation for effective control of gas disasters.LEI DongJi LI Chengwu ZHANG Zimin ZHANG Yugui 2010Mining Science and Technology2010,20,5:10
2Effect of the layer orientation on mechanics and energy evolution characteristics of shales under uniaxial loading显示文摘The uniaxial compression tests were conducted on the cylindrical shale specimens with bedding plane inclined at 0° and 90° to the axial loading direction, respectively. Effect of the bedding orientation on the mechanical property and energy evolution characteristics of shales was revealed. The failure mechanisms of the specimens with layers in 0° orientation showed splitting failure along weak bedding, while the specimens with layers in 90° orientation were failed by shearing sliding. The values of compressive strength, elastic modulus and shear modulus of samples at 0° were higher than those of samples at 90°and there was little difference of Poisson's ratio between samples at 0° and 90°. The analysis of the stress–strain energy and acoustic emission(AE) energy indicated that the growth rate of absorbed energy density and elastic energy density at 0° was significantly faster than that at 90°, hence their final values at 0°were relatively larger than the latter. Moreover, higher energy release was observed for specimens at 0°.The energy release and rapid growth of energy dissipation also appeared more early at 0°. The stress ratio63% was a critical point of energy distribution at which differences started to arise between samples at 0°and 90°. 3Polycystic ovary syndrome patients with high BMI tend to have functional disorders of androgen excess:a prospective study显示文摘Biochemical or clinical changes of hyperandrogenism are important elements of polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).There is currently no consensus on the definition and diagnostic criteria of hyperandrogenism in PCOS.The aim of this study was to investigate the complex symptoms of hyperandrogenic disorders and the correlations between metabolism and hyperandrogenism in patients with PCOS from an outpatient reproductive medicine clinic in China.We conducted a case control study of 125 PCOS patients and 130 controls to evaluate differences in body mass index(BMI),total testosterone(TT),modified Ferriman-Gallwey hirsutism score,sex hormone binding globulin(SHBG),homeostasis model assessment-estimated insulin resistance(HOMA-IR) and free androgen index(FAI) between PCOS patients and controls and subgroups of PCOS.The prevalence of acne and hirsutism did not differ significantly between the hyperandrogenic and non-hyperandrogenic subgroup.Patients with signs of hyperandrogenism had significantly higher BMI(P<0.05),but differences in TT,SHBG,FAI and waist/hip ratio were insignificant.The odds ratio of overweight was calculated for all PCOS patients.Our results suggest that PCOS patients with high BMI tend to have functional disorders of androgen excess;therefore,BMI may be a strong predictor of hyperandrogenism in PCOS.Chun Yuan Xiaoqiang Liu Yundong Mao Feiyang Diao Yugui Cui Jiayin Liu 2016The Journal of Biomedical Research2016,30,3:8
4A Qualitative Appraisal of China’s Efforts in Fishing Capacity Management显示文摘This paper provides a critical review of some major efforts made by China to manage the fishing capacity of its marine capture fisheries. It begins by reviewing the key concepts and issues closely related to fishing capacity management. Following on this, a brief introduction to China’s marine capture fisheries is offered, especially the trends of its marine landings and marine fishing fleets and the status of fish stocks in waters under its jurisdiction. Next comes the main concern of the paper, i.e., some major actions recently initiated by China to deal with the overcapacity problem confronting it. 5Correlation Between Microstructure and Corrosion Behavior of Two 90Cu10Ni Alloy Tubes显示文摘Two kinds of 90Cu10 Ni tubes with different service lives(more than 3 years and only 1 year,respectively)under identical working conditions were studied by an immersion test in a 3.5 wt% NaCl solution and the electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD) technique.The morphology after immersion showed severer corrosion attack at the grain boundaries of the tube with shorter service life compared with the tube with longer service life.The grain boundary characterization distributions(GBCDs) of the two tubes obtained by EBSD revealed more Σ3 boundaries and twins,and larger random boundary meshes in the tube with longer service life.A short immersion test in a modified Livingston's solution was conducted to evaluate the tendency to corrosion attack of different types of the grain boundaries.SEM and AFM were used to characterize the corrosion morphologies of the boundaries.A strong correlation between varying depths of corrosion grooves and types of the grain boundaries was obtained.The influence of deviation angle of low Σ boundaries on corrosion resistance of the grain boundaries was also discussed.It is concluded that a special ‘‘grain boundary engineering''(GBE) treatment has been performed on the tube with longer service life.It is proposed that the optimized GBCD is responsible for the better service performance of the tube.Aili Ma Shengli Jiang Yugui Zheng Zhiming Yao Wei Ke Shuang Xia 2014Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2014,27,4:4
6Effect of an electrostatic field on gas adsorption and diffusion in tectonic coal显示文摘The characteristics of adsorption, desorption, and diffusion of gas in tectonic coal are important for the prediction of coal and gas outbursts. Three types of coal samples, of which both metamorphic grade and degree of damage is different, were selected from Tongchun, Qilin, and Pingdingshan mines. Using a series of experiments in an electrostatic field, we analyzed the characteristics of gas adsorption and diffusion in tectonic coal. We found that gas adsorption in coal conforms to the Langmuir equation in an electrostatic field. Both the depth of the adsorption potential well and the coal molecular electronegativity increases under the action of an electrostatic field. A Joule heating effect was caused by changing the coal–gas system conductivity in an electrostatic field. The quantity of gas adsorbed and DP result from competition between the depth of the adsorption potential well, the coal molecular electronegativity, and the Joule heating effect. DP peaks when the three factors control behavior equally. Compared with anthracite, the impact of the electrostatic field on the gas diffusion capacity of middle and high rank coals is greater. Compared with the original coal, the gas adsorption quantity, DP, and the gas diffusion capacity of tectonic coal are greater in an electrostatic field. 7On the localised corrosion of carbon steel induced by the in-situ local damage of porous corrosion products显示文摘The effect of in-situ local damage of uniform porous corrosion products on the localised corrosion of carbon steel is investigated using the wire beam electrode technique(WBE)combined with morphology characterisation and electrochemical tests.The WBE measurements demonstrate that the localised corrosion is enhanced by the in-situ local removal of porous corrosion products,supported by the morphology characterisation and electrochemical tests.The enhanced localised corrosion does not originate from the damaged wire in WBE where the corrosion products are removed but from the other undamaged wires,which is reported for the first time.A mechanism is proposed that the intensive anodic polarisation effect of the damaged wire on the undamaged wires could account for the enhanced localised corrosion,which is due to the protective corrosion products newly formed on the damaged surface and the increase in the potential of damaged wire.Lin Pang Zhengbin Wang Yugui Zheng Xueming Lai Xu Han 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,54,19:4
8Cavitation Erosion Corrosion Behaviour of Manganese-nickel-aluminum Bronze in Comparison with Manganese-brass显示文摘The cavitation erosion corrosion behaviour of ZQMn12-8-3-2 manganese-nickel-aluminum bronze and ZHMn55-3-1 manganese-brass was investigated by mass loss, electrochemical measurements (polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy) and the cavitation damaged surfaces were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that ZQMn12-8-3-2 had better cavitation erosion resistance than ZHMn55-3-1. After the cavitation erosion for 6 h, the cumulative mass loss of ZQMn12-8-3-2 was about 1/3 that of ZHMn55-3-1. The corrosion current density of ZQMn12-8-3-2 was less than that of ZHMn55-3-1 under both static and cavitaiton condition. The free-corrosion potentials of ZQMn12-8-3-2 and ZHMn55-3-1 were all shifted in positive direction under cavitation condition compared to static condition. In the total cumulative mass loss under cavitation condition, the pure erosion played a key role for the two tested materials (74% for ZHMn55-3-1 and 60% for ZQMn12-8-3-2), and the total synergism between corrosion and erosion of ZQMn12-8-3-2 (39%) was larger than that of ZHMn55-3-1 (23%). The high cavitation erosion resistance of ZQMn12-8-3-2 was mainly attributed to its lower stacking fault energy (SFE), the higher microhardness and work-hardening ability as well as the favorable propagation of cavitation cracks for ZQMn12-8-3-2, i.e., parallel to the surface rather than perpendicular to the surface for ZHMn55-3-1.Hong Yu Yugui Zheng Zhiming Yao 2009Journal of Materials Science & Technology2009,25,6:3
9Simultaneous acquisition of multi-nuclei enhanced NMR/MRI by solution-state dynamic nuclear polarization显示文摘Dynamic nuclear polarization(DNP) has become a very important hyperpolarization method because it can dramatically increase the sensitivity of nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) of various molecules.Liquid-state DNP based on Overhauser effect is capable of directly enhancing polarization of all kinds of nuclei in the system.The combination of simultaneous Overhauser multi-nuclei enhancements with the multi-nuclei parallel acquisitions provides a variety of important applications in both MR spectroscopy(MRS) and image(MRI).Here we present two simple illustrative examples for simultaneously enhanced multi-nuclear spectra and images to demonstrate the principle and superiority.We have observed very large simultaneous DNP enhancements for different nuclei,such as ~1H and ^(23)Na,~1H and ^(31)P,^(19)F and ^(31)P,especially for the first time to report sodium ion enhancement in liquid.We have also obtained the simultaneous images of ^(19)H and ^(31)P,^(19)F and ^(31)P at low field by solution-state DNP for the first time.Yugui He Zhen Zhang Jiwen Feng Chongyang Huang Fang Chen Chaoyang Liu Maili Liu 2016Science China Chemistry2016,59,7:2
10Follicular hyperandrogenism and insulin resistance in polycystic ovary syndrome patients with normal circulating testosterone levels显示文摘Polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS) is a common reproductive disease with high heterogeneity. The role of excess androgen in PCOS etiology remains disputed, since around 20%-50% of PCOS women do not display hyperandrogenemia. The microenvironment of the ovary critically influences follicular development. In the present study, we assessed the role of androgen in PCOS by investigating whether excessive follicular fluid androgen was present in PCOS patients with normal serum androgen levels and influenced by follicular fluid insulin resistance(IR).Follicular fluid samples of 105 women with PCOS and 105 controls were collected. Levels of steroid hormones,glucose and insulin in the follicular fluid were examined and compared with data from serum biochemistry tests. We found that 64.9%(63/97) of PCOS patients with normal serum androgen levels displayed abnormally high follicular fluid androgen level. The follicular fluid androgen level was positively correlated with follicular fluid IR within a certain range and follicular fluid estrogen-to-testosterone(E2/T) ratio was significantly reduced in these patients.These results indicated that there existed a subgroup of PCOS patients who displayed excessive follicular fluid androgen and IR despite their normal circulating testosterone(T) levels. 12Three-dimensional topological insulators:A review on host materials显示文摘In recent years,three-dimensional topological insulators(3DTI) as a novel state of quantum matter have become a hot topic in the fields of condensed matter physics and materials sciences.To fulfill many spectacularly novel quantum phenomena predicted in 3DTI,real host materials are of crucial importance.In this review paper,we first introduce general methods of searching for new 3DTI based on the density-functional theory.Then,we review the recent progress on materials realization of 3DTI including simple elements,binary compounds,ternary compounds,and quaternary compounds.In these potential host materials,some of them have already been confirmed by experiments while the others are not yet.The 3DTI discussed here does not contain the materials with strong electron-electron correlation.Lastly,we give a brief summary and some outlooks in further studies.FENG WanXiang YAO YuGui 2012Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,12:2
