| 2 | Multi-scenario Simulation for 2060 and Driving Factors of the Eco-spatial Carbon Sink in the Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration, China显示文摘Since China announced its goal of becoming carbon-neutral by 2060, carbon neutrality has become a major target in the development of China's urban agglomerations. This study applied the Future Land Use Simulation(FLUS) model to predict the land use pattern of the ecological space of the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration, in 2060 under ecological priority, agricultural priority and urbanized priority scenarios. The Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Trade-offs(In VEST) model was employed to analyse the spatial changes in ecological space carbon storage in each scenario from 2020 to 2060. Then, this study used a Geographically Weighted Regression(GWR) model to determine the main driving factors that influence the changes in land carbon sinking capacity. The results of the study can be summarised as follows: firstly, the agricultural and ecological priority scenarios will achieve balanced urban expansion and environmental protection of resources in an ecological space. The urbanized priority scenario will reduce the carbon sinking capacity. Among the simulation scenarios for 2060, carbon storage in the urbanized priority scenario will decrease by 112.26 × 10^(6) t compared with that for 2020 and the average carbon density will decrease by 0.96 kg/m^(2) compared with that for 2020. Carbon storage in the agricultural priority scenario will increase by 84.11 × 10^(6) t, and the average carbon density will decrease by 0.72 kg/m^(2). Carbon storage in the ecological priority scenario will increase by 3.03 × 10^(6) t, and the average carbon density will increase by 0.03 kg/m^(2). Under the premise that the population of the town will increases continuously, the ecological priority development approach may be a wise choice.Secondly, slope, distance to river and elevation are the most important factors that influence the carbon sink pattern of the ecological space in the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration, followed by GDP, population density, slope direction and distance to traffic infrastructure.At the same time, urban space expansion is the main cause of the changes of this natural factors. | 3 | Insulin sensitivity,βcell function,and adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with gestational diabetes显示文摘Background: The potential impact of β cell function and insulin sensitivity on adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) remains uncertain. We aimed to investigate the association between β cell dysfunction, insulin resistance, and the composite adverse pregnancy outcomes.Methods: This observational study included 482 women diagnosed with GDM during pregnancy. Quantitative metrics on β cell function and insulin sensitivity during pregnancy were calculated using traditional equations. The association of β cell dysfunction and insulin resistance with the risk of the composite adverse pregnancy outcomes was investigated using multivariable-adjusted logistic regression models.Results: Multivariable-adjusted odds ratios (ORs) of adverse pregnancy outcomes across quartiles of homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) were 1.00, 0.95, 1.34, and 2.25, respectively (P for trend = 0.011). When HOMA-IR was considered as a continuous variable, the multivariable-adjusted OR of adverse pregnancy outcomes was 1.34 (95% confidence interval 1.16-1.56) for each 1-unit increase in HOMA-IR. Multivariable-adjusted ORs of adverse pregnancy outcomes across quartiles of homeostatic model assessment for β cell function (HOMA-β) were 1.00, 0.51, 0.60, and 0.53, respectively (P for trend = 0.068). When HOMA-β was considered as a continuous variable, the multivariable-adjusted OR of adverse pregnancy outcomes was 0.57 (95% CI 0.24-0.90) for each 1-unit increase in HOMA-β. However, other quantitative metrics were not associated with the composite adverse pregnancy outcomes.Conclusions: We demonstrated a significant association of β cell function and insulin sensitivity with the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes. | 12 | RNAi knockdown of C-erbB2 expression inhibits salivary gland adenoid cystic carcinoma SACC-83 cell growthin vitro显示文摘Objective:To knockdown the C-erbB2 gene in salivary gland adenoid cystic carcinoma SACC-83 cells using RNA interference,and determine the effect of silencing C-erbB2 on cell proliferation.Methods:C-erbB2-siRNA was transfected into SACC-83 cells.RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry were used to detect C-erbB2 expression in SACC-83 cells.Cell proliferation was measured by the MTT assay and gene knockdown was achieved by RNA interference.Apoptosis was analyzed by flow cytometry.Results:Compared with the control,C-erbB2 mRNA expression was decreased in the C-erbB2-siRNA transfection group,and immunohistochemical analysis indicated that C-erbB2 protein expression was decreased.After C-erbB2-siRNA was transfected for 48 h,absorbance at 570 nm (MTT)was 0.185±0.021 compared with 0.354±0.034,0.299±0.053,and 0.314±0.049 in the blank control,liposome control and negative control siRNA groups,respectively.The differences were statistically significant (P<0.05)between the C-erbB2-siRNA group and the control groups.Following the C-erbB2 knockdown,the percentage of apoptotic cells was 5.63%compared with 2.04%,2.85%,and 2.98%in the three control groups,respectively.Proliferation of SACC-83 cells was inhibited,and early apoptotic cells were increased.Conclusion: RNA interference can effectively silence C-erbB2 gene expression and inhibit growth of SACC-83 cells,which indicates the potential of targeting this gene as a novel gene therapy approach for the treatment of salivary gland adenoid cystic carcinoma. | Xiaohua Liu Yincheng Zhang Wenhao Ren Tengteng Cao Yongjin Zhu | 2010 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2010,24,3: | 1 |

| 18 | Calculating the Climatology and Anomalies of Surface Cloud Radiative Effect Using Cloud Property Histograms and Cloud Radiative Kernels显示文摘Cloud radiative kernels(CRK)built with radiative transfer models have been widely used to analyze the cloud radiative effect on top of atmosphere(TOA)fluxes,and it is expected that the CRKs would also be useful in the analyses of surface radiative fluxes,which determines the regional surface temperature change and variability.In this study,CRKs at the surface and TOA were built using the Rapid Radiative Transfer Model(RRTM).Longwave cloud radiative effect(CRE)at the surface is primarily driven by cloud base properties,while TOA CRE is primarily decided by cloud top properties.For this reason,the standard version of surface CRK is a function of latitude,longitude,month,cloud optical thickness(τ)and cloud base pressure(CBP),and the TOA CRK is a function of latitude,longitude,month,τand cloud top pressure(CTP).Considering that the cloud property histograms provided by climate models are functions of CTP instead of CBP at present,the surface CRKs on CBP-τhistograms were converted to CTP-τfields using the statistical relationship between CTP,CBP andτobtained from collocated CloudSat and MODIS observations.For both climate model outputs and satellites observations,the climatology of surface CRE and cloud-induced surface radiative anomalies calculated with the surface CRKs and cloud property histograms are well correlated with those calculated from surface radiative fluxes.The cloud-induced surface radiative anomalies reproduced by surface CRKs and MODIS cloud property histograms are not affected by spurious trends that appear in Clouds and the Earth's Radiant Energy System(CERES)surface irradiances products. | Chen ZHOU Yincheng LIU Quan WANG | 2022 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,12: | 0 |

| 20 | Terahertz spin dynamics in rare-earth orthoferrites显示文摘Recent interest in developing fast spintronic devices and laser-controllable magnetic solids has sparked tremendous experimental and theoretical efforts to understand and manipulate ultrafast dynamics in materials.Studies of spin dynamics in the terahertz(THz)frequency range are particularly important for elucidating microscopic pathways toward novel device functionalities.Here,we review THz phenomena related to spin dynamics in rare-earth orthoferrites,a class of materials promising for antiferromagnetic spintronics.We expand this topic into a description of four key elements.(1)We start by describing THz spectroscopy of spin excitations for probing magnetic phase transitions in thermal equilibrium.While acoustic magnons are useful indicators of spin reorientation transitions,electromagnons that arise from dynamic magnetoelectric couplings serve as a signature of inversion-symmetry-breaking phases at low temperatures.(2)We then review the strong laser driving scenario,where the system is excited far from equilibrium and thereby subject to modifications to the free-energy landscape.Microscopic pathways for ultrafast laser manipulation of magnetic order are discussed.(3)Furthermore,we review a variety of protocols to manipulate coherent THz magnons in time and space,which are useful capabilities for antiferromagnetic spintronic applications.(4)Finally,new insights into the connection between dynamic magnetic coupling in condensed matter and the Dicke superradiant phase transition in quantum optics are provided.By presenting a review on an array of THz spin phenomena occurring in a single class of materials,we hope to trigger interdisciplinary efforts that actively seek connections between subfields of spintronics,which will facilitate the invention of new protocols of active spin control and quantum phase engineering. | Xinwei Li Dasom Kim Yincheng Liu Junichiro Kono | 2022 | Photonics Insights2022,1,2: | 0 |
