1The Coupling Relationship between the Uplift of Longmen Shan and the Subsidence of Foreland Basin,Sichuan,China显示文摘Depending on the analysis of the coeval sedimentary geometry and subsidence mechanism in the Longmen Shan foreland basin, three models about the coupling relationship between Longmen Shan uplift and foreland basin subsidence since the Indosinian have been proposed:(1) crustal shortening and its related wide wedge-shaped foreland basin,(2) crustal isostatic rebound and its related tabular foreland basin, and(3) lower crustal flow and its related narrow wedge-shaped foreland basin. 3Crustal Uplift in the Longmen Shan Mountains Revealed by Isostatic Gravity Anomalies along the Eastern Margin of the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘This study examines the relationship between high positive isostatic gravity anomalies(IGA), steep topography and lower crustal extrusion at the eastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau. IGA data has revealed uplift and extrusion of lower crustal flow in the Longmen Shan Mountains(the LMS). Firstly, The high positive IGA zone corresponds to the LMS orogenic belt. It is shown that abrupt changes in IGA correspond to zones of abrupt change of topography, crustal thickness and rock density along the LMS. Secondly, on the basis of the Airy isostasy theory, simulations and inversions of the positive IGA were conducted using three-dimensional bodies. The results indicated that the LMS lacks a mountain root, and that the top surface of the lower crust has been elevated by 11 km, leading to positive IGA, tectonic load and density load. Thirdly, according to Watts' s flexural isostasy model, elastic deflection occurs, suggesting that the limited(i.e. narrow) tectonic and density load driven by lower crustal flow in the LMS have led to asymmetric flexural subsidence in the foreland basin and lifting of the forebulge. Finally, based on the correspondence between zones of extremely high positive IGA and the presence of the Precambrian Pengguan-Baoxing complexes in the LMS, the first appearance of erosion gravels from the complexes in the Dayi Conglomerate layer of the Chengdu Basin suggest that positive IGA and lower crustal flow in the LMS took place at 3.6 Ma or slightly earlier.LI Yong YAN Zhaokun ZHOU Rongjun YAN Liang DONG Shunli SHAO Chongjian Svirchev LAURENCE 2018Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2018,92,1:3

5Temperature measurement and analysis of postharvest agricultural products associated with thermal disinfestations显示文摘Hot air and hot water treatments are practical,environmentally-friendly and non-chemical heating methods,which are widely used for postharvest insect control and quality preservation in agricultural products.Taking apple and pear as representative fruits,this study mainly analyzed influences of their thermal properties,diameter,and medium speed on the heating rates of fruits through their real-time measured temperatures at surface and center.Based on the reported thermal death kinetic models of the target codling moth,the minimum heating time was estimated to achieve 100%insect mortality.The results showed that the heating rates in fruits decreased gradually with the increasing depth from the surface to the center.With increasing heating time,the heating rate became small.The apple was heated faster than the pear.Hot water was more effective than hot air in treating fruits.Increasing hot air speed increased the heating rate but increasing water circulating speed had no clear effects on the heating rate.Based on the measured temperature-time history of the fruit center,the minimum heating time could be effectively determined for codling moth control through the estimated total equivalent thermal lethal time.The results could provide reliable validation data for the computer simulation and a scientific basis to improve the hot air and hot water treatments.Yan Rongjun Huang Zhi Li Rui Zhu Hankun Ling Bo Shaojin Wang 2013International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2013,6,2:1
6Physicochemical disintegration of biochar:a potentially important process for long-term cadmium and lead sorption显示文摘Cadmium(Cd)and lead(Pb)contaminated soils that are used for food production can lead to metal bioaccumulation in the food chain and eventually affect human health.In these agroecosystems,means by which Cd and Pb bioavailability can be reduced are desperately required,with biochar as a proxy for bioavailability reductions.Molecular Cd and Pb sorption mecha-nisms within short-(0-2 years)or long-term(8-10 years)time periods following biochar application to a contaminated rice paddy soil were investigated.A combination of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,and soft X-ray imaging was utilized to discern potential metal sorption mechanisms.Following both short-and long-term biochar applications,soil Cd and Pb bioavailable fractions shifted partially towards metal(hydr)oxide and carbonate pre-cipitates,and partially towards biochar-organic function group associations;oxygen-containing groups,such as C=O and O-H,appeared to bind Cd and Pb.Soft X-ray imaging results suggested that heavy metals were primarily sorbed on biochar exterior surfaces,yet given time and particle disintegration,metals sorbed onto biochar interior pore walls.Findings sug-gest that biochar may play a pivotal role in reducing long-term bioavailable Cd and Pb in contaminated soils.Observations also support previous findings that suggest biochar use can lead to reduced heavy metal transfer to plants and potentially to reduced heavy metal consumption by humans.Liqiang Cui Lianqing Li Rongjun Bian James A.Ippolito Jinlong Yan Guixiang Quan 2021Biochar2021,3,4:1
7The Seismogenic Structure and Deformation Mechanism of the Lushan(MW 6.6) Earthquake, Sichuan, China显示文摘On April 20 th, 2013, an earthquake of magnitude MW 6.6 occurred at Lushan of Sichuan on the southern segment of the Longmenshan fault zone, with no typical coseismic surface rupture. This work plotted an isoseismal map of the earthquake after repositioning over 400 post–earthquake macro–damage survey points from peak ground acceleration(PGA) data recorded by the Sichuan Digital Strong Earthquake Network. This map indicates that the Lushan earthquake has a damage intensity of IX on the Liedu scale, and that the meizoseismal area displays an oblate ellipsoid shape, with its longitudinal axis in the NE direction. No obvious directivity was detected. Furthermore, the repositioning results of 3323 early aftershocks, seismic reflection profiles and focal mechanism solutions suggests that the major seismogenic structure of the earthquake was the Dayi Fault, which partly defines the eastern Mengshan Mountain. This earthquake resulted from the thrusting of the Dayi Fault, and caused shortening of the southern segment of the Longmenshan in the NW–SE direction. Coseismal rupture was also produced in the deep of the Xinkaidian Fault.
