| 1 | Inclusion Modification with Mg Treatment for 35CrNi3MoV Steel显示文摘The effects of Mg on the inclusion characteristics of 35CrNi3MoV steel have been studied. The results show that Mg treatment reduces obviously the amount of inclusion in the steel.Magnesiurn and oxygen in liquid steel form dispersed fine particles of MgO, to which other oxides or sulphides nucleated at heterogeneity and grown during solidification. In this way the inclusions are modified. The small spherical inclusions containing MgO have been observed in the Mg treated steel in contrast to the large angular inclusions with Al2O3 in the conventional steel. Especially the elongated MnS inclusion is replaced by small MgS·MgO or MgS. MnS·MgO complex inclusion. | 7 | Interleukin-10 gene polymorphisms and hepatocellular carcinoma susceptibility:A meta-analysis显示文摘AIM: To assess the association between Interleu-kin-10 (IL-10) gene IL-10-1082 (G/A), IL-10-592(C/A), IL-10-819 (T/C) polymorphisms and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) susceptibility.METHODS: Two investigators independently searched the Medline, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Chinese Biomedicine Database. Summary odds ratios (ORs) and 95% conf idence intervals (95% CIs) for IL-10 polymorphisms and HCC were cal-culated in a fixed-effects model (the Mantel-Haenszel method) and a random-effects model (the DerSimonian and Laird method) when appropriate. RESULTS: This meta analysis included seven eligiblestudies, which included 1012 HCC cases and 2308 controls. Overall, IL-10-1082 G/A polymorphism was not associated with the risk of HCC (AA vs AG + GG, OR = 1.11, 95% CI = 0.90-1.37). When stratifying for ethnicity, the results were similar (Asian, OR = 1.12, 95% CI = 0.87-1.44; non-Asian, OR = 1.10, 95% CI = 0.75-1.60). In the overall analysis, the IL-10 polymorphism at position -592 (C/A) was identified as a genetic risk factor for HCC among Asians; patients carrying the IL-10-592*C allele had an increased risk of HCC (OR = 1.29, 95% CI = 1.12-1.49). No association was observed between the IL-10-819 T/C polymorphism and HCC susceptibility (TT vs TC + CC, OR = 1.02, 95% CI = 0.79-1.32).CONCLUSION: This meta-analysis suggests that IL-10-592 A/C polymorphism may be associated with HCC among Asians. | 8 | Ureaplasma Urealyticum or Mycoplasma Hominis Infections and Semen Quality of Infertile Men in Abidjan显示文摘Objective To determine the prevalence of U. urealyticum and M. hominis in semen samples collected from men admitted in clinic for infertility, and to compare the quality of these semen samples. Methods A total of 1 058 semen samples collected were investigated. Sperm semiological assays were performed according to the guidelines of the World Health Organisation (WHO). Semen were examined by Mycoplasma IST for the detection of mycoplasma. Semen culture on agar media was used to detect other microorganisms. Chlamydia was detected using direct fluorescent assay (DFA) of Clamydia Trachomatis. Results Among 1 058 semen samples, microorganisms were detected in 638 (60.3%). The infected sperms consisted of mycoplasma alone in 507 cases (47.9%), mycoplasma and other microorganisms in 98 (9.3%), giving in all 605 (57.2%) samples infected with mycoplasma. The last 33 (3.1%) consisted of other microorganisms alone. The frequency of U.urealyticum, M. hominis and mixed genital infections detected in semen samples of infertile men were 39%, 23.8% and 5.6%, respectively. The rates of abnormal semen parameters recorded among patients infected with mycoplasma were for volume (22.2%-25%), viscosity (29.6%-43.5%), pH (64.7%-72.9%), motility (80.8%-93.8%), morphology (36.3%-47.9%), sperm concentration (53.3%-58.3%) and leukocyte count (51.4%-58.3%). Conclusion Frequency of U. urealyticum infection was higher than that of M. hominis. Mycoplasma infections were associated with disorders of pH, motility and sperm concentration. In addition M. hominis infection affected spermatozoa morphology. | 9 | Insights into the subunit in-teractions of the chloroplast ATP synthase显示文摘Subunit interactions of the chloroplast F0F1-ATP synthase were studied using the yeast two-hybrid sys-tem. The coding sequences of all the nine subunits of spinach chloroplast ATP synthase were cloned in two-hybrid vectors. The vectors were transformed into the yeast strains HF7c and SFY526 by various pairwise combinations, and the protein interactions were analyzed by measuring the yeast growth on minimal SD medium without serine, lucine and histidine. Interactions of γ subunit with wild type or two truncated mutants of ε sununit, ε△N21 and ε△C45, which lose their abilities to inhibit the ATP hydrolysis, were also detected by in vitro and in vivo binding assay. The present results are largely accordant to the common structure model of F0F1-ATP synthase. Different from that in the E. coli F0F1-ATP synthase, the δ subunit of chloroplast ATP synthase could interact with β. γ, ε and all the CF0 subunits in the two-hybrid system. | 12 | Scale dependence of tensile strength of micromachined polysilicon MEMS structures due to microstructural and dimensional constraints显示文摘The success of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) as a key technology in the 21st century depends in no small part on the solution of materials issues associated with the design and fabrication of complex MEMS devices. The reliable mechanical properties of these thin films are critical to the safety and functioning of these microdevices and should be accurately determined. In order to accomplish a reliable mechanical design of MEMS, a new microtensile test device using a magnetic-solenoid force actuator was developed to evaluate the mechanical properties of microfabricated polysilicon thin films with dimensions of 100—660 mm length, 20—200 mm width, and 2.4 mm thickness. It was found that the measured average value of Young抯 modulus, 164±1.2 GPa, falls within the theoretical bounds. The average fracture strength is 1.36 GPa with a standarddeviation of 0.14 GPa, and the Weibull modulus is 10.4—11.7, respectively. Statistical analysis of the specimen size effect on the tensile strength predicated the size effect on the length, the surface area and the volume of the specimens due tomicrostructural and dimensional constraints. The fracturestrength increases with the increase of the ratio of surfacearea to volume. In such cases the size effect can be tracedback to the ratio of surface area to volume as the governing parameter. The test data account for the uncertainties inmechanical properties and may be used in the future reliability design of polysilicon MEMS.
