1A quantitative approach to monitoring new sand cay migration in Nansha Islands显示文摘Sand cay is a special kind of islet formed by coral detritus and bioclast, which is common in Nansha Islands of China. Some sand cays play an important role in ocean strategy and economy, but surprisingly we know little about them, especially those recently formed sand cays. In this research, we monitor migration of a new sand cay in Nanxun Jiao(Gaven Reef) using a series of Quick Bird and World View-2 satellite images between June 2006 and August 2013. We conduct a regression between migration distance and wind observational data to examine the migration patterns of the new sand cay. The migration distance is calculated based on the sand cay locations extracted based on Normalized Difference Water Index(NDWI). The wind observational data downloaded from NOAA are reformed into four wind direction vectors. Based on the results of regression, we concluded that the migration of the new sand cay on Nanxun Jiao was significantly associated with the east, west and north wind.East wind was the main influence factor of the migration; its impact strength was almost twice as the west and north wind. 2Identification of Cognitive Dysfunction in Patients with T2DM Using Whole Brain Functional Connectivity显示文摘Majority of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)patients are highly susceptible to several forms of cognitive impairments,particularly dementia.However,the underlying neural mechanism of these cognitive impairments remains unclear.We aimed to investigate the correlation between whole brain resting state functional connections(RSFCs)and the cognitive status in 95 patients with T2DM.We constructed an elastic net model to estimate the Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA)scores,which served as an index of the cognitive status of the patients,and to select the RSFCs for further prediction.Subsequently,we utilized a machine learning technique to evaluate the discriminative ability of the connectivity pattern associated with the selected RSFCs.The estimated and chronological MoCA scores were significantly correlated with R=0.81 and the mean absolute error(MAE)=1.20.Additionally,cognitive impairments of patients with T2DM can be identified using the RSFC pattern with classification accuracy of 90.54%and the area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve(AUC)of 0.9737.This connectivity pattern not only included the connections between regions within the default mode network(DMN),but also the functional connectivity between the task-positive networks and the DMN,as well as those within the task-positive networks.The results suggest that an RSFC pattern could be regarded as a potential biomarker to identify the cognitive status of patients with T2DM.Zhenyu Liu Jiangang Liu Huijuan Yuan Taiyuan Liu Xingwei Cui Zhenchao Tang Yang Du Meiyun Wang Yusong Lin Jie Tian 2019Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2019,17,4:4
3Consistency and normality of Huber-Dutter estimators for partial linear model显示文摘For partial linear model Y = Xτβ0 + g0(T) + with unknown β0 ∈ Rd and an unknown smooth function g0, this paper considers the Huber-Dutter estimators of β0, scale σ for the errors and the function g0 approximated by the smoothing B-spline functions, respectively. Under some regularity conditions, the Huber-Dutter estimators of β0 and σ are shown to be asymptotically normal with the rate of convergence n-1/2 and the B-spline Huber-Dutter estimator of g0 achieves the optimal rate of convergence in nonparametric regression. 4Performance and observation summary of Changchun Satellite Laser Ranging Station显示文摘This note introduces the performance and observation summary of the SLR system at Changcun Observatory, the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The performance of the SLR system has been greatly improved since August 1997. The single shot precision is improved from 5-7 cm to 1-2 cm and the normal point precision reaches 4-7 mm. The long-term stability is better than 1 cm. The amount of observation has been increased from 1000 to over 3000 passes. 5High strength and ductility achieved in friction stir processed Ni-Co based superalloy with fine grains and nanotwins显示文摘The trade-off between strength and ductility has been an enormous difficulty in the field of materials for an extended time due to their inverse correlation. In this work, friction stir processing(FSP) was for the first time performed to high-strength and high-melting-point Ni-Co based superalloy(GH4068),and enhanced strength and ductility were achieved in FSP samples. At room temperature, the FSP sample demonstrated significantly higher yield strength and ultimate tensile strength(1290 and 1670 MPa)than that of the base material(BM, 758 and 904 MPa) and advanced wrought GH4068 alloy(982 and 1291 MPa), concurrent with high tensile ductility(~24%). Compared with the BM, 70% higher yield strength of the FSP sample results from the remarkable contribution of grain-boundary and nanotwin strengthening, which has been confirmed by the multimechanistic model studied in this work. More importantly, with increasing temperature, an excellent strength-ductility synergy was obtained at 400 ℃,i.e., the yield strength of the FSP sample was increased by more than 50% compared with the BM(from789 to 1219 MPa);more interestingly, the elongation was also significantly increased from 17.9% in the BM to 28.5% in the FSP sample. Meanwhile, the Portevin-Le Chatelier effect was observed in the engineering stress-strain curve. The occurrence of this effect may be attributed to the interaction between solutes and defects like twins and mobile dislocations. 6Extraordinary radiation tolerance of a Ni nanocrystal-decorated carbon nanotube network encapsulated in amorphous carbon显示文摘Nanostructured materials with abundant defect sinks show good radiation tolerance due to their efficient absorption of irradiation-induced interstitials and vacancies.However,the poor thermal stability and limited size of such nanomaterials severely limit their practical applications.Herein,we report a novel flexible free-standing network-structured hybrid consisting of amorphous carbon encapsulated nickel nanocrystals anchored on a single-wall carbon nanotube scaffold with excellent radiation tolerance up to 5 dpa at 673 K and exceptional thermal stability up to 1073 K.The nano-scale Ni-SWCNT network with abundant Ni-SWCNT interfaces and grain boundaries provides effective sinks and fast transportation channels for defects,which effectively absorb irradiation-induced defects and improved the irradiation tolerance.Furthermore,the formation of a low-energy Ni-C interface and surface thermal grooves significantly reduces the system free energy and increased thermal stability.The amorphous carbon layer produces an external compressive radial stress that inhibits Ni grain boundaries from migrating,which greatly improves the thermal stability of the hybrid by pinning GBs at grooves between grains and facilitates the annihilation of irradiation-induced defects at the sinks.This work provides a new strategy to improve the thermal stability and radiation tolerance of nano-materials used in an irradiation environment.Kan Cui Yang Zhao Zhi Yu Miaosen Yu Xiaoqi Li Xingwei Huang Jianhang Qiu Liangting Sun Hongwei Zhao Ning Gao Kaiping Tai Chang Liu 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,24:0
