2Foraging strategies in the greater horseshoe bat(Rhinolophus ferrumequinum)on Lepidoptera in summer显示文摘The diet of the bat Rhinolophus ferrumequinum was studied at the Zhi’an Village of Ji’an City in China, from June to August 2004. The bats were trained in a laboratory (volume: 9×4×4 m3). Foraging strategies of the bat were ob- served at night and prey remains were collected and identi- fied. The results showed that the diet consisted mainly of Lepidoptera in summer, including 11 families, more than 30 species of moths, such as Noctuidae (36.6% by number), Sphingidae (24.1%), Geometridae (13.4%) and Limacodidae (9.5%). The length of culled wings ranged from 10―40 mm (97.7%). Pearson correlation analysis showed that the bat R. ferrumequinum foraged their prey selectively, but not op- portunistically. From field studies, two ways were observed in which the bats retrieved their prey including aerial hawk- ing during peak active period of the insects and flycatching during the insects’ non-peak activity period. 3The structural change of Cu-Sn melt显示文摘With the high-temperature viscometer and magnetic susceptibility measurement device designed by our group,the viscosity and the magnetic susceptibility of the Cu65Sn35 melt were measured during the cooling process.An anomalous change can be found in the curves of viscosity and magnetic susceptibility at a certain temperature.The structure of the melt was studied by the high-temperature X-ray diffractometer.The anomalous change also can be found in the pair distribution function,correlation radius,and coordination number at the approximate tem-perature,which shows the microstructural change of the Cu65Sn35 melt.From the results,it was confirmed that the Cu6Sn5 compound occurs in the melt,which leads to the structural change of the melt.HOU JiXin SUN JianJun ZHAN ChengWei TIAN XueLei CHEN XiChen 2007Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2007,50,4:2
4Biomass-based aligned carbon networks with double-layer construction for tunable electromagnetic shielding with ultra-low reflectivity显示文摘Nowadays,carbon frameworks derived from natural biomaterials have attracted extensive attention for electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding due to their renewability and affordability.However,it is critical and challenging to achieve effective regulation of shielding effectiveness(SE)as well as weaken the strong EM reflection of highly conductive biomass-based carbon materials.Herein,commercial cotton pads with oriented structure were selected as carbonaceous precursor to fabricate aligned carbon networks by pyrolysis,and the EMI SE of the samples with increased temperature of 800-1000℃ can be accurately controlled in the effective range of~21.7-29.1,~27.7-37.1 and~32.7-43.3 d B with high reflection coefficient of>0.8 by changing the cross-angle between the electric-field direction of incident EM waves and the fiber-orientation direction due to the occurrence of opposite internal electric field.Moreover,the further construction of Salisbury absorber-liked double-layer structure could result in an ultralow reflection coefficient of only~0.06 but enhanced SE variation range up to~38.7-49.3 d B during the adjustment of cross-angle,possibly due to the destructive interference of EM waves in the double-layer carbon networks.This work would provide a simple and effective way for constructing high-performance biomass carbon materials with adjustable EMI shielding and ultra-low reflectivity.Jiali Chen Da Yi Xichen Jia Guoqing Wang Zhouping Sun Lihua Zhang Yinfeng Liu Bin Shen Wenge Zheng 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,8:2

7Numerical Study of the Effect of Imaginary Circle Diameter and Initial Flow Field on the Aerodynamic Field in a Tangentially Fired Furnace显示文摘In this paper, the effect of the imaginary circle diameter opi and the initial flow field on the aerodynamic field in a tangentially fired furnace was studied by numerical simulation and experiments in the cold model. Results show that merely reducing the imaginary circle diameter rki can not significantly reduce the rotatiollal diameter op in the range considered. The flow still rotates coullter-clockwise stably and does not change rotation direction when the direction of all jet axes are defiected suddenly to the opposite rotation direction by up to 5.4' in a countereclockwise llow field. It is the first time that the numerical sAnulation results were obtained which agreed quite well with this experimental phenomena qualitatively. The experimental data, i.e., the rotational diameter & and the maximum velocity on the syrnmetric central line of fUrnace Vm, are only a bit larger than the simulation results. It is shown that the initial flow field has an important influence on the aerodynamic field in the furnace. Other measures have to be taken as wel1 in order to reduce & to resist slagging and high temperature corrosion of furnace tubes. 8China’s Recent Progresses in Polar Climate Change and Its Interactions with the Global Climate System显示文摘During the recent four decades since 1980,a series of modern climate satellites were launched,allowing for the measurement and record-keeping of multiple climate parameters,especially over the polar regions where traditional observations are difficult to obtain.China has been actively engaging in polar expeditions.Many observations were conducted during this period,accompanied by improved Earth climate models,leading to a series of insightful understandings concerning Arctic and Antarctic climate changes.Here,we review the recent progress China has made concerning Arctic and Antarctic climate change research over the past decade.The Arctic temperature increase is much higher than the global-mean warming rate,associated with a rapid decline in sea ice,a phenomenon called the Arctic Amplification.The Antarctic climate changes showed a zonally asymmetric pattern over the past four decades,with most of the fastest changes occurring over West Antarctica and the Antarctic Peninsula.The Arctic and Antarctic climate changes were driven by anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions and ozone loss,while tropical-polar teleconnections play important roles in driving the regional climate changes and extreme events over the polar regions.Polar climate changes may also feedback to the entire Earth climate system.The adjustment of the circulation in both the troposphere and the stratosphere contributed to the interactions between the polar climate changes and lower latitudes.Climate change has also driven rapid Arctic and Southern ocean acidification.Chinese researchers have made a series of advances in understanding these processes,as reviewed in this paper.Xichen LI Xianyao CHEN Bingyi WU Xiao CHENG Minghu DING Ruibo LEI Di QI Qizhen SUN Xiaoyu WANG Wenli ZHONG Lei ZHENG Meijiao XIN Xiaocen SHEN Chentao SONG Yurong HOU 2023Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2023,40,8:1

10Zeolite-encaged Ultrasmall Pt-Zn Species with Trace Amount of Pt for Efficient Propane Dehydrogenation显示文摘Propane dehydrogenation(PDH)has become a globe-welcoming technology to meet the massive demand for propylene,but the most commonly used Pt-based catalysts suffer from quick sintering,poor selectivity for propylene,and unsatisfied Pt utilization.Herein,a series of Silicalite-1(S-1)zeolite-encaged ultrasmall Pt-Zn clusters with a trace amount of Pt[40—180 ppm(parts per million)]were developed by using a one-pot ligand-protected direct H_(2) reduction method.Interestingly,the extremely low amount of Pt can significantly promote the activity of zeolite-encaged Zn catalysts in PDH reactions.Thanks to the high Pt dispersion,the synergy between Pt and Zn species,and the confinement effect of zeolites,the optimized PtZn@S-1 catalyst with 180 ppm Pt and 1.88%(mass fraction)Zn,exhibited an extraordinarily high propane conversion(33.9%)and propylene selectivity(99.5%)at 550℃with a weight hourly space velocity(WHSV)of 8 h^(-1),affording an extremely high propylene formation rate of 340.7 mol_(C_(3)H_(6))·g_(Pt^(-1))·h^(-1).This work provides a reference for the preparation of zeolite-encaged metal catalysts with high activity and noble metal utilization in PDH reactions.QU Ziqiang ZHANG Tianjun YIN Xichen ZHANG Junyi XIONG Xiaoyun SUN Qiming 2023Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2023,39,6:0
11Nonlinear fusion filters based on prediction and smoothing显示文摘To attenuate white noise, nonstationary noise and impulse noise are important for signal processing. In this letter, we present nonlinear fusion filters (NFF) based on prediction and smoothing. By means of least square fitting of a polynomial, we define and give the operators of left prediction and right prediction, left smoothing and right smoothing, central smoothing and cross-validation smoothing. 12Evaluation of temporal compositing algorithms for annual land cover classification using Landsat time series data显示文摘In this paper, four widely used temporal compositing algorithms, i.e.median, maximum NDVI, medoid, and weighted scoring-basedalgorithms, were evaluated for annual land cover classification usingmonthly Landsat time series data. Four study areas located in California,Texas, Kansas, and Minnesota, USA were selected for image compositingand land cover classification. Results indicated that images compositedusing weighted scoring-based algorithms have the best spatial fidelitycompared to other three algorithms. In addition, the weighted scoringbasedalgorithms have superior classification accuracy, followed bymedian, maximum NDVI, and medoid in descending order. However, themedian algorithm has a significant advantage in computational efficiencywhich was ~70 times that of weighted scoring-based algorithms, andwith overall classification accuracy just slightly lower (~0.13% onaverage) than weighted scoring-based algorithms. Therefore, werecommended the weighted scoring-based compositing algorithms forsmall area land cover mapping, and median compositing algorithm forthe land cover mapping of large area considering the balance betweencomputational complexity and classification accuracy.
