2HuoguⅠformula prevents steroid-induced osteonecrosis in rats by down-regulating PPARγ expression and activating Wnt/LRP5/β-catenin signaling显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of HuoguⅠformula on regulation of lipid metabolism in steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head(SONFH) rats and verify our hypothesis that HuoguⅠ formula regulates lipid metabolism by down-regulating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma(PPARγ) expression and activating Wnt signaling pathways.METHODS: Eighty-five rats were divided into four groups: control, model, Huogu 15 g/kg and Huogu30 g/kg. Six weeks later, animals were anaesthetized, femora were dissected for histopathological examination of the osteonecrotic changes and repair processes, micro computed tomography(Micro-CT)-based micro-angiography was performed to assess vascularization. Serum lipid levels were detected by haematological examination. The expressions of PPARγ, Wnt3a, low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5(LRP5) and β-catenin were evaluated by immunohistochemistry,Western blot and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction analyses.RESULTS: The incidence of osteonecrosis, ratio of empty lacuna, adipose tissue area and adipocyte perimeter in the bone marrow were dramatically lower in the Huogu Ⅰ formula treatment groups.Bymicro-CTquantification,HuoguⅠformulatreatment dose-dependently increased vessel volume,vessel surface, percentage of vessel volume and vessel thickness of the femoral heads of SONFH rats. Levels of serum lipid in Huogu 15 g/kg and Huogu 30 g/kg groups reduced significantly.HuoguⅠformula treatment could suppress the expression of PPARγ and increase the expressions of Wnt3a, LRP5 and β-catenin at both protein and mRNA levels.CONCLUSION: The results of our present study highlight the lipid-lowering potential of Huogu Ⅰformula, and provide further evidence of the involvement of the PPARγ inhibition and Wnt/LRP5/β-catenin signaling activation in the effects of HuoguⅠformula.Yini Jiang Daobing Liu Xiangying Kong Ying Xu Weiheng Chen Na Lin 2014Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2014,34,3:18
3Levels of synthetic musk fragrances in human milk from three cities in the Yangtze River Delta in Eastern China显示文摘Synthetic musks are used as additives in many household products.After absorption into the human body,they accumulate and their concentrations in human milk reflect both the mother and her infant's exposure level.Concentrations of four synthetic musks,musk xylene(1-tert-butyl-2,6-dimethyl-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene,MX),musk ketone(4-tert-butyl-2,6-dimethyl-3,5-dinitroacetophenone,MK),1,3,4,6,7,8-hexahydro-4,6,6,7,8,8-hexamethylcyclopenta[γ]-2-benzopyran(HHCB) and 7-acetyl-1,1,3,4,4,6-hexamethyl-1,2,3,4tetrahydronaphthalene(AHTN),were determined in human milk samples collected from Shanghai,Wuxi,and Shaoxing in Eastern China.The four synthetic musks were found in most samples analyzed,with HHCB the dominant component followed by MX.The median(mean) values for HHCB,AHTN,MX and MK concentrations were 63(82),5(12),17(24) and 4(9) ng/g lipid weight,respectively.These data suggested the total synthetic musk contamination was low,and the distribution percentage was HHCB > MX > AHTN ≈ MK.The relative high ratio of nitro to polycylic musk indicated that nitro musks were still widely used.The musk concentrations in these cities were not significantly different from each other(p > 0.05).Principal components score plots were obtained,which showed similar exposure sources.The amount of total synthetic musks in human milk were not associated with mother's age,although HHCB was significantly correlated with AHTN(p < 0.05).Daily ingestion of HHCB,AHTN,MX and MK for infants from human milk were estimated as(2526 ± 2926),(370 ± 524),(7391 ± 832),and(277 ± 462) ng/day,respectively.Those doses were 1-2 orders of magnitude below the provisional tolerable daily intakes.Xiaolan Zhang Gaofeng Liang Xiangying Zeng Jing Zhou Guoying Sheng Jiamo Fu 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,6:8

5Influencing factors of the neurodevelopment of high-risk infants显示文摘Background High-risk infants refer to newborns exposed to high-risk factors in the prenatal, natal or postnatal period. High-risk infants are at high risk of developmental retardation, and early identification of developmental abnormalities plays a vital role in improving high-risk infants' quality of life.Aims To describe the neurodevelopment of high-risk infants aged less than 1 year old, and to analyse the incidences and influencing factors of neurodevelopmental abnormalities in order to provide a basis for neurodevelopment monitoring and management of highrisk infants.Methods High-risk infants born between January 2016 and December 2016 in the maternity and infant health hospitals of three districts in Shanghai were followed up.The Gesell Developmental Scale was used to assess the neurodevelopmental level at the time of recruitment(0-2 months) and at 9 months. Univariate and multivariate analyses of the influencing factors were conducted.Results 484 high-risk infants(male 51 %, female 49%)with an average gestation age of 36.5±2.2 weeks were recruited. At the time of recruitment, the average age was2.1(0.8) months, and the developmental quotient(DQ)scores of full-term high-risk infants in motor(t=3.542,p=0.001), cognitive(t=3.125, p=0.002), language(t=3.189, p=0.002) and social(t=3.316, p=0.001) areas were higher than those of preterm infants. The incidences of developmental abnormalities of full-term high-risk infants in motor(χ~2 =9.452, p=0.002), cognitive(χ~2=6.258, p=0.012), language(χ~2 =12.319, p =0.001) and social(χ~2 =6.811, p=0.009) areas were lower than the preterm infants. At 9 months, there was no difference in the DQ scores and incidences of developmental abnormalities in four areas between full-term and preterm high-risk infants, and the incidence of developmental abnormalities was around 10%.Conclusion The incidence of neurodevelopmental abnormalities in high-risk infants aged less than 1 year old is high. 6Changes in physical features of Glacier No. 1 of the Tianshan Mountains in response to climate change显示文摘This study analyzes the changes in glacier zones and snow composition of Glacier No.1 in the Tianshan Mountains of China since 1961,and their possible relations with climate.It is found that precipitation dominated the snow composition and that air temperature and precipitation controlled the distribution of glacier zones,but interannual change in precipitation had a relatively large effect on glacier zones and snow composition during 1963–1981 (P10) and 1963–1989 (P11).However,during 1982–2007 (P20) and 1990–2007 (P21),the air temperature rise (0.57°C/10 a for P20,0.76°C/10 a for P21) was more influential than the precipitation increase (51.3 mm/10 a for P20),and air temperature was principally responsible for the evolution of glacier zones and snow composition most probably resulting from recent climate warming.LI XiangYing DING YongJian YE BaiSheng HAN TianDing 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,26:6
7Historical records of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon deposition in a shallow eutrophic lake:Impacts of sources and sedimentological conditions显示文摘Sediment core samples collected from Lake Chaohu were analyzed for 15 priority polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)to assess the spatial and temporal distributions of the PAHs during lacustrine sedimentary processes and regional economic development.Assessing the PAH sedimentary records over an approximately 100-year time span,we identified two stages in the PAH inputs and sources(before the 1970 s and after the 1970s)in the eastern lake region near a village,whereas three stages(before the 1950 s,1950s–1990s and after the1990s)were identified in the western lake region near urban and industrial areas.Rapid increases in the PAH depositional fluxes occurred during the second stage due to increased human activities in the Lake Chaohu basin.The composition and isomeric ratios of the PAHs revealed that pyrolysis is the main source of PAHs in this lake.Strong positive relationships between PAH concentration and the total organic carbon concentration,sediment grain size(< 4 μm),as well as the local population and Gross Domestic Product indicated that the sedimentary conditions impact the depositional characteristics of the PAHs;simultaneously,socioeconomic activities,such as energy consumption and the levels of urban industrialization and civilization,affect both the composition and abundance of the PAHs.Chaocan Li Shouliang Huo Zhiqiang Yu Wei Guo Beidou Xi Zhuoshi He Xiangying Zeng Fengchang Wu 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,3:6

11Water quality criteria for 4-nonylphenol in protection of aquatic life显示文摘Here reproduction and death toxicity data were selected for 4-nonylphenol based on endocrine disrupting properties of the reproductive system. Assessment factor (AF) and species sensitivity distribution (SSD) curve were employed to derive criteria maximum concentration (CMC) and criteria continuous concentration (CCC) of three different 4-nonylphenols for protection of aquatic life. The results showed that the CMC and CCC based on SSD method and death toxicity data for three different 4-nonylphenols (CAS No: 104405, 25154523, 84852163) were 26.7, 13.6, 3.84 g L 1 and 8.86, 2.21, 0.97 g L 1, respectively. Based on SSD and reproductive toxicity data, the CCC values of different 4-nonylphenols (CAS No: 104405, 25154523) were 1.59 and 1.34 g L 1, respectively. The CCC values obtained by the AF for three different 4-nonylphenol (CAS No: 104405, 25154523, 84852163) were 0.165, 1.03, 0.74 g L 1 and 0.5, 0.5, 0.1 g L 1, respectively, based on death toxicity data and reproductive toxicity data. The CCC values obtained by AF were all lower than the corresponding criteria values obtained by SSD, and the CCC values based on reproductive toxicity data were less than those based on the death toxicity data. 12Effect of Aluminum Tri-polyphosphate on Corrosion Behavior of Reinforcing Steel in Seawater Prepared Coral Concrete显示文摘Atri-polyphosphate was used as a corrosion inhibitor in the seawater prepared coral concrete, and its influence on the corrosion behavior of carbon steel, 304 austenitic stainless steel, and 2205 duplex stainless steel was studied by the open-circuit potential, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and potentiodynamic polarization, respectively. The results reveal that the corrosion potential and impedance of the reinforcing steel increase, while the corrosion current density decreases with the content of aluminum tripolyphosphate in the coral concrete. A low content of the corrosion inhibitor significantly retards the corrosion of the two stainless steels, but it cannot effectively inhibit the corrosion of the carbon steel in the coral concrete.In general, the carbon steel is unsuitable for the coral concrete for its poor corrosion resistance. 13Black phosphorus-based photothermal therapy with aCD47-mediated immune checkpoint blockade for enhanced cancer immunotherapy显示文摘Here,we describe a combination strategy of black phosphorus(BP)-based photothermal therapy together with anti-CD47 antibody(aCD47)-based immunotherapy to synergistically enhance cancer treatment.Tumour resistance to immune checkpoint blockades in most cancers due to immune escape from host surveillance,along with the initiation of metastasis through immunosuppressive cells in the tumour microenvironment,remains a significant challenge for cancer immunotherapy.aCD47,an agent for CD47/SIRPαaxis blockade,induces modest phagocytic activity and a low response rate for monotherapy,resulting in failures in clinical trials.We showed that BP-mediated ablation of tumours through photothermal effects could serve as an effective strategy for specific immunological stimulation,improving the inherently poor immunogenicity of tumours,which is particularly useful for enhancing cancer immunotherapy.BP in combination with aCD47 blockade activates both innate and adaptive immunities and promotes local and systemic anticancer immune responses,thus offering a synergistically enhanced effect in suppression of tumour progression and in inducing abscopal effects for inhibition of metastatic cancers.Our combination strategy provides a promising platform in which photothermal agents could help to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of immunotherapy.Zhongjian Xie Minhua Peng Ruitao Lu Xiangying Meng Weiyuan Liang Zhongjun Li Meng Qiu Bin Zhang Guohui Nie Ni Xie Han Zhang Paras N.Prasad 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:3
14Diurnal hydrological controls and non-filtration effects on minor and trace elements in stream water draining the Qiyi Glacier, Qilian Mountain显示文摘Diurnal minor and trace elements in glacial outflow water draining the Qiyi Glacier and associated hydrological controls as well as the filtration effects on water chemistry were examined. Results show that major ions, Li, Sr, and Ba are exported predominately as mobile monovalent or divalent ions and are controlled by hydrological variations over the diurnal cycle exhibiting an inverse concentration with discharge, suggesting that Li, Sr, and Ba can be used as tracers in subglacial hydrological investigations. Conversely, other elements (e.g. Fe, Al, and Cr) exhibit variations that are not strongly correlated with the discharge reflecting the physicochemical controls. The non-filtered operation appears not to strongly influence Sr and Ba, but has an effect on some elements such as Fe, Al, V, Ti, and Co, indicating that these changed elements are transported in particulate forms and thus their concentrations are highly dependent on particulate numbers in solutions. 15Ericoid mycorrhizal fungus enhances microcutting rooting of Rhododendron fortunei and subsequent growth显示文摘Adventitious root(AR)formation is a unique feature of plant reproduction and plays a vital role in crop production as many horticultural and forestry plants are propagated through cuttings.A growing number of reports have shown that microbes,particularly mycorrhizal fungi are able to promote AR formation,but the underlying mechanisms remain largely unclear.This study established an in vitro culture system and investigated AR formation in microcuttings of Rhododendron fortunei Lindl.inoculated with Oidiodendron maius Barron Om19,an ericoid mycorrhizal fungus strain.Hormones and precursors involved in the biosynthesis of indole-3-acetic acid(IAA)in Om19 mycelium were analyzed.Om19 was able to produce a large quantity of tryptophan(Trp)and also indole-3-pyruvate(IPA)and IAA,indicating that IAA biosynthesis in Om19 could be through a Trp-dependent pathway.After inoculation of Om19,ARs were quickly formed in microcuttings.Symbiosis related genes were activated in ARs,and Om19 effectively colonized the roots.YUC3,a key gene in plant biosynthesis of IAA and genes involved in nitrogen(N)uptake and metabolism,phosphorus(P)uptake were highly upregulated.Plants absorbed significantly greater quantity of mineral nutrients,and their growth was substantially enhanced compared to the control plants without Om19 inoculation.A working model for Om19 enhanced AR formation was proposed.The rapid formation of ARs in cuttings could be due in part to the induction of IAA biosynthesized by Om19 and also attributed to Trp catalyzed biosynthesis of IAA in plants.AR formation,in turn,provided Om19 preferred sites for colonization.Our study suggested that in addition to promoting AR formation,Om19 could potentially be used as a new biofertilizer for enhancing production of ericaceous plants,such as blueberry,cranberry,and rhododendron.Xiangying Wei Jianjun Chen Chunying Zhang Hong Liu Xiuxia Zheng Jingli Mu 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:2
16Dynamic responses of a piezoelectric cantilever plate under high-low excitations显示文摘In this paper,the nonlinear dynamic responses of a piezoelectric cantilever plate near the first-order and second-order natural frequencies under the action of electromechanical coupling are studied by experiments and finite element(FE)methods.The influence of different excitation frequencies on the dynamical characteristics of piezoelectric cantilever plates is analyzed with the fixed excitation amplitude.First,an experimental setup is built,including a carbon fiber cantilever plate attached to a macro fiber composite(MFC)sheet.Then,the electromechanical coupling excitations are subjected to the plate with different frequencies,which are chosen near the first and second-order natural frequencies of the plate.The piezoelectric cantilever plate has periodical motions under a lower frequency excitation,and the motions of the plate become more complex after another high frequency excitation added in the physical field.The experimental results show that the motion of the piezoelectric cantilever plate changes from stable to unstable with high-low coupled resonant frequencies.At last,the FE study is carried out to compare and verify the experimental results and the effects of isotropic and orthotropic materials on the accuracy of natural frequencies results are also compared.Xiangying Guo Shuaibo Wang Lin Sun Dongxing Cao 2020Acta Mechanica Sinica2020,36,1:2
17Surface characteristics of microalgae and their effects on harvesting performance by air flotation显示文摘Flotation is considered as an effective and energy efficient method for harvesting microalgae.However,the interaction mechanism between bubble-algae cell and cell-cell interfacial boundaries in microalgae flotation is not completely clear.To better understand the effects of surface characteristics on microalgae flotation performance,the hydrophobicity and the zeta potential of two different microalgae species were quantified based on experimental measurements and the extended DLVO(Derjagin–Landau–Verwey–Overbeek)theory.Flotation experiments were then carried out and the effects of surface characteristics on microalgae flotation performance were analyzed.Algae Chlorella vulgaris and Anabaena vasriabilis show naturally hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties,respectively.The addition of a cationic surfactant(C16TAB)can modify hydrophilic microalgae cells into hydrophobic and further Chlorella hydrophobicity is enhanced with increased C16TAB concentrations.The zeta potentials of both algae strains are negative in the tested pH range.Compared with Chlorella vulgaris,the magnitude of zeta potential of Anabaena vasriabilis is found larger at the same pH,resulting in a more dispersed distribution in the suspension.In addition,flotation experiments demonstrated that microalgae hydrophobicity and zeta potential have significant impacts on the harvesting efficiency and concentration factor.The hydrophobic attraction is found to play a more important role in determining the harvesting performance than electrostatic repulsion between the interacting surfaces,especially for hydrophobicity algae in the present study.Finally,the highest flotation efficiency and the highest concentration factor could not be concurrently obtained for both algae strains,suggesting that optimized flotation conditions should be selected as a compromise.Wen Hao Li Yanpeng Shen Zhou Ren Xiangying Zhang Wenjun Liu Jun 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,1:2
18On determination of the damping factor of linear viscoelastic materials using dynamic indentation:a theoretical study显示文摘In this study,we theoretically investigate the dynamic indentation for measuring the loss (damping) factor of a linear viscoelastic material from its indentation response.A rigid indenter with arbitrary tip profile is assumed to indent into a viscoelastic substrate with arbitrary shape.We perform a theoretical analysis and identify the conditions under which the loss factor of the material can be determined from the phase angle between the applied harmonic indentation load and the corresponding harmonic displacement,a directly measurable quantity in a dynamic indentation test.To validate the conclusion drawn from our theoretical analysis,a series of numerical experiments are performed,including the spherical indentation of a soft layer with irregular surface morphology bonded to a rigid substrate,a conical indenter with tip defects indenting into a half-spherical particle,and the indentation of porous materials.This study may facilitate the use of the dynamic indentation technique to evaluate the damping properties of linear viscoelastic materials,including some advanced polymers and biological soft tissues.CAO YanPing JI XiangYing FENG XiQiao 2011Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,4:2
