| 1 | Endoscopic treatment for pancreatic diseases:Needle-knife-guided cannulation via the minor papilla显示文摘AIM: To determine the efficacy and safety of meticulous cannulation by needle-knife.METHODS: Three needle-knife procedures were used to facilitate cannulation in cases when standard cannulation techniques failed. A total of 104 cannulationsvia the minor papilla attempted in 74 patients at our center between January 2008 and June 2014 were retrospectively reviewed.RESULTS: Standard methods were successful in79 cannulations. Of the 25 cannulations that could not be performed by standard methods, 19 were performed by needle-knife, while 17(89.5%) were successful. Needle-knife use improved the success rate of cannulation [76.0%, 79/104 vs 92.3%,(79 +17)/104; P = 0.001]. When the 6 cases not appropriate for needle-knife cannulation were excluded, the success rate was improved further(80.6%, 79/98 vs98.0%, 96/98; P = 0.000). There were no significant differences in the rates of post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography adverse events between the group using standard methods alone and the group using needle-knife after failure of standard methods(4.7% vs 10.5%, P = 0.301).CONCLUSION: The needle-knife procedure may be an alternative method for improving the success rate of cannulation via the minor papilla, particularly when standard cannulation has failed. | Wei Wang Biao Gong Wei-Song Jiang Lei Liu Kouken Bielike Bin Xv Yun-Lin Wu | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015，21，19： | 2 |

| 5 | Gastric duplication cyst mimicking large cystic lymphangioma in an adult: A rare case report and review of the literature显示文摘BACKGROUND Gastric duplication cysts(GDCs)are a relatively uncommon congenital developmental abnormality,mainly occurring in infants but very rarely in adults.Because of the variability in clinical presentation,it is often quite challenging to diagnose GDCs in adults.We are presenting a case report of an adult diagnosed operatively as having a GDC with a literature review to summarize clinical and imaging features and the treatment selections of GDCs in adults so that doctors could have a comprehensive understanding of this disease and make a precise diagnosis and a suitable therapeutic decision for patients.CASE SUMMARY A 51-year-old man presented with recurrent epigastric pain and fullness for two years.No significant findings were noted during physical examination and routine blood tests were unremarkable.An abdominal ultrasound revealed a large cyst in the upper left abdominal quadrant.A following contrast-enhanced abdominal computed tomography(CT)scan demonstrated a hypodense cystic lesion between the spleen and stomach.The lesion had scattered calcification in the cyst wall without any significant enhancement.The lesion was initially thought to be a cystic lymphangioma.The patient underwent a surgical resection and intraoperatively it was noted that the lesion was closely adherent to the greater curvature of the stomach.Subsequently,a resection of the gastric mass along with a partial gastrectomy was performed.The patient recovered quickly with a complete symptomatic relief and did not show any further complications during the 8-month follow-up.CONCLUSION GDCs are quite rare in adults,with a multitude of symptoms,which is quite challenging for precise diagnosis before histological examination.Some imaging techniques involving CT,magnetic resonance imaging,and endoscopic ultrasound could provide valuable morphological features for differential diagnosis. | Fang-Yi Xv Alex Sun Yi Gan Hong-Jie Hu | 2019 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2019，7，15： | 1 |
