| 1 | Some studies on mechanics of continuous mediums viewed as differential manifolds显示文摘The continuous mediums are divided into two kinds according to their geometrical configurations,the first one is related to Euclidian manifolds and the other one to Riemannian manifolds/surfaces in the point of view of the modern geometry.Two kinds of finite deformation theories with respect to Euclidian and Riemannian manifolds have been developed in the present paper.Both kinds of theories include the definitions of initial and current physical and parametric configurations,deformation gradient tensors with properties,deformation descriptions,transport theories and governing equations of nature conservation laws.The essential property of the theory with respect to Euclidian manifolds is that the curvilinear coordinates corresponding to the current physical configurations include time explicitly through which the geometrically irregular and time varying physical configurations can be mapped in the diffeomorphism manner to the regular and fixed domains in the parametric space.It is quite essential to the study of the relationships between geometries and mechanics.The theory with respect to Riemannian manifolds provides the systemic ideas and methods to study the deformations of continuous mediums whose geometrical configurations can be considered as general surfaces.The essential property of the theory with respect to Riemannian manifolds is that the thickness variation of a patch of continuous medium is represented by the surface density and its governing equation is rigorously deduced.As some applications,wakes of cylinders with deformable boundaries on the plane,incompressible wakes of a circular cylinder on fixed surfaces and axisymmetric finite deformations of an elastic membrane are numerically studied. | XIE XiLin CHEN Yu SHI Qian | 2013 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,2: | 6 |
| 2 | Interplay of surface geometry and vorticity dynamics in incompressible flows on curved surfaces显示文摘Incompressible viscous flows on curved surfaces are considered with respect to the interplay of surface geometry, curvature, and vorticity dynamics. Free flows and cylindrical wakes over a Gaussian bump are numerically solved using a surface vorticitystream function formulation. Numerical simulations show that the Gaussian curvature can generate vorticity, and non-uniformity of the Gaussian curvature is the main cause.In the cylindrical wake, the bump dominated by the positive Gaussian curvature can significantly affect the vortex street by forming velocity depression and changing vorticity transport. | 6 | A study on the early-warning technique concerning debris flow disasters显示文摘According to the principle of the eruption of debris flows, the new torrent classification techniques are brought forward. The torrent there can be divided into 4 types such as the debris flow torrent with high destructive strength, the debris flow torrent, high sand-carrying capacity flush flood torrent and common flush flood by the techniques. In this paper, the classification indices system and the quantitative rating methods are presented. Based on torrent classification, debris flow torrent hazard zone mapping techniques by which the debris flow disaster early-warning object can be ascertained accurately are identified. The key techniques of building the debris flow disaster neural network (NN)real time forecasting model are given detailed explanations in this paper, including the determination of neural node at the input layer, the output layer and the implicit layer, the construction of knowledge source and the initial weight value and so on. With this technique, the debris flow disaster real-time forecasting neural network model is built according to the rainfall features of the historical debris flow disasters, which includes multiple rain factors such as rainfall of the disaster day, the rainfall of 15 days before the disaster day, the maximal rate of rainfall in one hour and ten minutes. It can forecast the probability, critical rainfall of eruption of the debris flows, through the real-time rainfall monitoring or weather forecasting. Based on the torrent classification and hazard zone mapping, combined with rainfall monitoring in the rainy season and real-time forecasting models, the debris flow disaster early-warning system is built. In this system, the GIS technique, the advanced international software and hardware are applied, which makes the system′s performance steady with good expansibility.
