1Review of renal cell carcinoma and its common subtypes in radiology显示文摘Representing 2%-3% of adult cancers, renal cell carcinoma(RCC) accounts for 90% of renal malignancies and is the most lethal neoplasm of the urologic system. Over the last 65 years, the incidence of RCC has increased at a rate of 2% per year. The increased incidence is at least partly due to improved tumor detection secondary to greater availability of high-resolution cross-sectional imaging modalities over the last few decades. Most RCCs are asymptomatic at discovery and are detected as unexpected findings on imaging performed for unrelated clinical indications. The 2004 World Health Organization Classification of adult renal tumors stratifies RCC into several distinct histologic subtypes of which clear cell, papillary and chromophobe tumors account for 70%, 10%-15%, and 5%, respectively. Knowledge of the RCC subtype is important because the various subtypes are associated with different biologic behavior, prognosis and treatment options. Furthermore, the common RCC subtypes can often be discriminated non-invasively based on gross morphologic imaging appearances, signal intensity on T2-weighted magnetic resonance images, and the degree of tumor enhancement on dynamic contrast-enhanced computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging examinations. In this article, we review the incidence and survival data, risk factors, clinical and biochemical findings, imaging findings, staging, differential diagnosis, management options and posttreatment follow-up of RCC, with attention focused on the common subtypes.Gavin Low Guan Huang Winnie Fu Zaahir Moloo Safwat Girgis 2016World Journal of Radiology2016,8,5:20
2Recent Advances of Graphitic Carbon Nitride-Based Structures and Applications in Catalyst, Sensing, Imaging, and LEDs显示文摘The graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_3N_4) which is a two-dimensional conjugated polymer has drawn broad interdisciplinary attention as a low-cost, metal-free, and visible-light-responsive photocatalyst in the area of environmental remediation. The g-C_3N_4-based materials have excellent electronic band structures, electron-rich properties, basic surface functionalities, high physicochemical stabilities and are ‘‘earth-abundant.'' This review summarizes the latest progress related to the design and construction of g-C_3N_4-based materials and their applications including catalysis, sensing, imaging, and white-light-emitting diodes. An outlook on possible further developments in g-C_3N_4-based research for emerging properties and applications is also included.Aiwu Wang Chundong Wang Li Fu Winnie Wong-Ng Yucheng Lan 2017Nano-Micro Letters2017,9,4:9
3Mediating role of resilience in the relationship between COVID-19 related stigma and mental health among COVID-19 survivors:a cross-sectional study显示文摘Background The global coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has caused many negative effects on physical and mental health of patients who have survived COVID-19.Apart from some long-lasting physical sequelae, those COVID-19 survivors are also suffering stigma and discrimination at different levels around the world. The current study aims to assess the role resilience played in stigma and mental disorders among COVID-19 survivors. Methods The cross-sectional study was carried out among former COVID-19 patients in Jianghan District(Wuhan,China)from June 10 to July 25,2021.The demographic questions, the Impact of Events Scale-Revised,the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Questionnaire, the Patient Health Questionnaire, the Resilience Style Questionnaire and the Short Version of COVID-19 Stigma Scale of 12 items were used to collect relevant information of the participants.Descriptive analyses,Pearson correlation analysis and Structural Equation Modeling were used to make data description and analysis. Results A total of 1541 out of 1601 COVID-19 survivors(887 females and 654 males)were included in the analysis.Perceived stigma of those COVID-19 survivors correlates significantly with anxiety(r=0.335,P<0.001),depression(r=0.325,P<0.001)and post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD)(r=0.384,P<0.001).It has a direct effect on COVID-19 survivors’anxiety(β=0.326,P<0.001),depression(β=0.314,P<0.001),PTSD(β=0.385,P<0.001)and their resilience(β=−0.114,P<0.01).Resilience partially mediated the association between perceived stigma and anxiety(β=0.020,P<0.01),depression(β=0.020,P<0.01),and PTSD(β=0.014,P<0.01)among COVID-19 survivors. Conclusion Stigma has a significant negative impact on mental health, while resilience plays a mediator role in the relationship between stigma and mental health among COVID-19 survivors.Based on our study,we suggested that when designing psychological interventions for COVID-19 survivors, consideration should be taken into account to reduce stigma and improve resilience.Weijun Xiao Xiaoyang Liu Hao Wang Yiman Huang Zhenwei Dai Mingyu Si Jiaqi Fu Xu Chen Mengmeng Jia Zhiwei Leng Dan Cui Winnie W.S.Mak Liming Dong Xiaoyou Su 2023Infectious Diseases of Poverty2023,12,2:0
4Discovery and development of brain-penetrant ^(18)F-labeled radioligands for neuroimaging of the sigma-2 receptors显示文摘We have discovered and synthesized a series of indole-based derivatives as novel sigma-2(σ_(2))receptor ligands. Two ligands with high σ_(2) receptor affinity and subtype selectivity were then radiolabeled with F-18 in good radiochemical yields and purities, and evaluated in rodents. In biodistribution studies in male ICR mice,radioligand[18F]9,or 1-(4-(5,6-dimethoxyisoindolin-2-yl)butyl)-4-(2-[18F]fluoroethoxy)-1H-indole,was found to display high brain uptake and high brain-to-blood ratio.Pretreatment of animals with the selective σ_(2) receptor ligand CM398 led to significant reductions in both brain uptake(29%-54%)and brain-to-blood ratio(60%-88%)of the radioligand in a dose-dependent manner, indicating high and saturable specific binding of[18F]9 to σ_(2) receptors in the brain.Further,ex vivo autoradiography in male ICR mice demonstrated regionally heterogeneous specific binding of[18F]9 in the brain that is consistent with the distribution pattern of σ_(2) receptors.Dynamic positron emission tomography imaging confirmed regionally distinct distribution and high levels of specific binding for[18F]9 in the rat brain, along with appropriate tissue kinetics.Taken together, results from our current study indicated the novel radioligand[18F]9 as the first highly specific and promising imaging agent for σ_(2) receptors in the brain.Ying Zhang Tao Wang Xiaojun Zhang Winnie Deuther-Conrad Hualong Fu Mengchao Cui Jinming Zhang Peter Brust Yiyun Huang Hongmei Jia 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,3:0
