| 1 | Tea plant genomics:achievements, challenges and perspectives显示文摘Tea is among the world’s most widely consumed non-alcoholic beverages and possesses enormous economic, health, and cultural values. It is produced from the cured leaves of tea plants, which are important evergreen crops globally cultivated in over 50 countries.Along with recent innovations and advances in biotechnologies, great progress in tea plant genomics and genetics has been achieved, which has facilitated our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of tea quality and the evolution of the tea plant genome. In this review,we briefly summarize the achievements of the past two decades, which primarily include diverse genome and transcriptome sequencing projects, gene discovery and regulation studies, investigation of the epigenetics and noncoding RNAs,origin and domestication, phylogenetics and germplasm utilization of tea plant as well as newly developed tools/platforms.We also present perspectives and possible challenges for future functional genomic studies that will contribute to the acceleration of breeding programs in tea plants. | En-Hua Xia Wei Tong QiongWu ShuWei Jian Zhao Zheng-Zhu Zhang Chao-Ling Wei Xiao-Chun Wan | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 9 |
| 2 | Large-scale evaluation of pea(Pisum sativum L.)germplasm for cold tolerance in the field during winter in Qingdao显示文摘As a cool-season crop, pea(Pisum sativum L.) can tolerate frost at the vegetative stage but experiences yield loss when freezing stress occurs at the reproductive stage. Cold-tolerance improvement of pea varieties is important for stable yield and expansion of the winter pea planting area. Under natural low-temperature conditions during winter in Qingdao,Shandong, China, we evaluated the cold tolerance of 3672 pea germplasm accessions in the field and categorized them as displaying high resistance(214), moderate resistance(835), or susceptibility(2623). The highly and moderately resistant genotypes were validated in the following year. We found that genotypes from the winter production region showed higher cold tolerance than genotypes from the spring production region. The accessions identified as having high levels of cold tolerance are recommended as potential genetic resources in cold-tolerance breeding of pea. | Xiaoyan Zhang Shuwei Wan Junjie Hao Jinguo Hu Tao Yang Xuxiao Zong | 2016 | The Crop Journal2016,4,5: | 2 |
| 3 | The role of low air pressure in the variation of negative corona-generated space charge in a rod to plane electrode显示文摘The corona-generated space charge may vary in different air pressures, and the quantitative law between the corona-generated space charge density and air pressure has never been investigated. This work utilised computational approaches to explore the role of air pressure in the variation of negative corona-generated space charge.A negative fluid model in which the air pressure could be varied was built up to calculate the charged-particle density and electric field under different applied voltages. The continuity equations were solved by flux corrected transport algorithm and the Poisson equation was computed by the successive over relaxation method. The variations of important parameters due to air pressure were analysed. The particles densities of electrons, positive ions and negative ions at standard and low atmosphere pressures were computed, which increased markedly due to the decrease of atmosphere pressure. At fixed applied voltages, the exponential decay law between the maximal values of electron/positive ion densities at the head of the streamer and air pressure could be obtained. The quantitative law between the maximal values of electron/positive ion densities at the head of the streamer and the applied voltage, relative air density was also achieved. | Bian XingMing Zhu JunYu Yang Wei Wan ShuWei Qi Lei Li XueBao Li HaiBing | 2018 | High Voltage2018,3,2: | 1 |
| 4 | Differentially Expressed MicroRNAs Associated with Vein Graft Restenosis in Rats显示文摘Objective:Intimal hyperplasia is the main cause of restenosis of vein grafts after venous transplantation.MicroRNAs are considered to play a role in vein graft restenosis;however, the expression profi le of microRNAs in neointima has not been reported in detail. We wanted to investigate the differentially expressed microRNAs in the restenosis of vein grafts in rats. Methods:We established a rat model for vein transplantation to explore the pathogenic roles of microRNAs during intimal hyperplasia.Hematoxylin and eosin staining was used to confi rm intimal hyperplasia in the vein grafts.Changes in microRNA expression in the vein grafts were detected 3 and 14 days after surgery by sequencing, reverse transcription–quantitative polymerase chain reaction, and bioinformatics analyses for functional annotation. Results:We detected 711 newly predicted microRNAs among all the comparisons.Among these comparisons,437 differentially expressed microRNAs were detected in the postoperative day 3 group versus the control group,265 were detected in the postoperative day 14 group versus the control group, and 158 were detected in the postoperative day 14 group versus the postoperative day 3 group.Pathway analysis revealed signifi cant enrichment of target genes that mediate Wnt,mitogen-activated protein kinase, vascular smooth muscle contraction, and regulation of actin cytoskeleton signaling. Conclusion:Our results provide insight into the pathogenesis of restenosis and will help develop novel targets in the prevention and treatment of vein graft restenosis. | Shuwei Wan Hui Cao Yubo Zhao Yaming Guo Chuang Li Nan Li Can Cao Zhaohui Hua Zhen Li | 2020 | Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications2020,,3: | 0 |
