| 1 | Development of systems for detection,early warning,and control of pipeline leakage in drinking water distribution:A case study显示文摘Water leakage in drinking water distribution systems is a serious problem for many cities and a huge challenge for water utilities.An integrated system for the detection,early warning,and control of pipeline leakage has been developed and successfully used to manage the pipeline networks in selected areas of Beijing.A method based on the geographic information system has been proposed to quickly and automatically optimize the layout of the instruments which detect leaks.Methods are also proposed to estimate the probability of each pipe segment leaking (on the basis of historic leakage data),and to assist in locating the leakage points (based on leakage signals).The district metering area (DMA) strategy is used.Guidelines and a flowchart for establishing a DMA to manage the large-scale looped networks in Beijing are proposed.These different functions have been implemented into a central software system to simplify the day-to-day use of the system.In 2007 the system detected 102 non-obvious leakages (i.e.,14.2% of the total detected in Beijing) in the selected areas,which was estimated to save a total volume of 2,385,000 m 3 of water.These results indicate the feasibility,efficiency and wider applicability of this system. | Weifeng Li Wencui Ling Suoxiang Liu Jing Zhao Ruiping Liu Qiuwen Chen Zhimin Qiang Jiuhui Qu | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,11: | 6 |
| 2 | Controllable synthesis of high loading LiFePO_4/C nanocomposites using bimodal mesoporous carbon as support for high power Li-ion battery cathodes显示文摘Mesoporous LiFePO4/C composites containing 80 wt% of highly dispersed LiFePO4 nanoparticles(4-6 nm) were fabricated using bimodal mesoporous carbon(BMC) as continuous conductive networks. The unique pore structure of BMC not only promises good particle connectivity for LiFePO4, but also acts as a rigid nano-confinement support that controls the particle size. Furthermore, the capacities were investigated respectively based on the weight of LiFePO4 and the whole composite. When calculated based on the weight of the whole composite, it is 120 mAh·g-1at 0.1 C of the high loading electrode and 42 mAh·g-1at 10 C of the low loading electrode. The electrochemical performance shows that high LiFePO4 loading benefits large tap density and contributes to the energy storage at low rates, while the electrode with low content of LiFePO4 displays superior high rate performance, which can mainly be due to the small particle size, good dispersion and high utilization of the active material, thus leading to a fast ion and electron diffusion. | Fei Cheng Duo Li Anhui Lu Wencui Li | 2013 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2013,22,6: | 2 |
| 3 | Interleukin 1 beta-induced chloride currents are important in osteoarthritis onset:an in vitro study显示文摘Persistent hypotonic and inflammatory conditions in the joint cavity can lead to the loss of cartilage matrix and cell death,which are the important mechanisms of osteoarthritis(OA)onset.Previous studies have confirmed that the existence of a hypotonic environment is a red flag for inflammation,as hypotonic environment induces the opening of the chloride channel of the cell and promotes chloride ion efflux,which prompts the cell volume to increase.Chloride channels play an important role in the regulation of mineralization and chondrocyte death.Here,we reported that OA chondrocytes showed a significant increase of cell death rate and the imbalance of cartilage matrix catabolism.We found that the distribution of skeleton protein F-actin was disordered.In addition,the volume-sensitive chloride current of OA chondrocytes decreased significantly with the increase of the expression levels of inflammation-related proteins caspase-1,caspase-3,and NLRP3.Moreover,interleukin-1β(IL-1β)showed a potential to activate the chloride current of normal chondrocytes.These results indicate that IL-1β-induced chloride channel opening in chondrocytes may be closely related to the occurrence of OA.This chloride channel opening process may therefore be a potential target for the treatment of OA. | Zhiqin Deng Zicong Lin Qing Zhong Minqiang Lu Huankun Fang Jianquan Liu Li Duan Lixin Chen Liwei Wang Daping Wang Wencui Li | 2021 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,4: | 2 |
