1The complex genetics in autism spectrum disorders显示文摘Autism spectrum disorders(ASD) are a pervasive neurodevelopmental disease characterized by deficits in social interaction and nonverbal communication, as well as restricted interests and stereotypical behavior. Genetic changes/heritability is one of the major contributing factors, and hundreds to thousands of causative and susceptible genes, copy number variants(CNVs), linkage regions, and micro RNAs have been associated with ASD which clearly indicates that ASD is a complex genetic disorder. 4Microfluidics-assisted optimization of highly adhesive haemostatic hydrogel coating for arterial puncture显示文摘Although common in clinical practice,bleeding after tissue puncture may cause serious outcomes,especially in arterial puncture.Herein,gelatin-tannic acid composite hydrogels with varying compositions are prepared,and their adhesive properties are further optimized in microfluidic channel-based simulated vessels for haemostasis in arterial puncture.It is revealed that the composite hydrogels on the syringe needles used for arterial puncture should possess underwater adhesion higher than 4.9 kPa and mechanical strength higher than 86.0 kPa.The needles coated with the gelatin-tannic acid composite hydrogel completely prevent blood loss after both vein and arterial puncture in different animal models.This study holds great significance for the preparation of haemostatic needles for vessel puncture,and gelatin-tannic acid hydrogel coated needles may help to prevent complications associated with arterial puncture.Xingjie Yin Jingli Ren Wei Lan Yu Chen Mengping Ouyang Hua Su Lianbin Zhang Jintao Zhu Chun Zhang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,6:0
5Noninvasive Tracking of Every Individual in Unmarked Mouse Groups Using Multi-Camera Fusion and Deep Learning显示文摘Accurate and efficient methods for identifying and tracking each animal in a group are needed to study complex behaviors and social interactions.Traditional tracking methods(e.g.,marking each animal with dye or surgically implanting microchips)can be invasive and may have an impact on the social behavior being measured.To overcome these shortcomings,video-based methods for tracking unmarked animals,such as fruit flies and zebrafish,have been developed.However,tracking individual mice in a group remains a challenging problem because of their flexible body and complicated interaction patterns.In this study,we report the development of a multi-object tracker for mice that uses the Faster region-based convolutional neural network(R-CNN)deep learning algorithm with geometric transformations in combination with multi-camera/multi-image fusion technology.The system successfully tracked every individual in groups of unmarked mice and was applied to investigate chasing behavior.The proposed system constitutes a step forward in the noninvasive tracking of individual mice engaged in social behavior.Feng Su Yangzhen Wang Mengping Wei Chong Wang Shaoli Wang Lei Yang Jianmin Li Peijiang Yuan Dong-Gen Luo Chen Zhang 2023Neuroscience Bulletin2023,39,6:0
6Sedimentological Characteristics of Sandy Gravel Beach in Kongtong Island显示文摘Hydrological characteristics such as waves, tides, currents, and meteorological features such as weather and wind, as well as geological structure were collected. Through the field trips of Kongtong Island, observations of its base rock coast, measurement of beach slope and beach gravel particle size, gravel and sandy samples was collected in the intertidal zone of west beach, east beach, and north beach of Kongtong. Particle size analysis and roundness calculation were carried out to verify whether they were consistent with the oceanographic data collected from Kongtong Island. The results showed that the north beach was mainly gravel, the west beach was a mixture of sand and gravel, and east beach was a sandy sediment. The particle sizes and roundness of different samples showed that north beach had the strongest hydrodynamic conditions, followed by the west beach, and the east beach had the weakest hydrodynamic conditions. This had a direct relationship with perennial wave direction and wind direction. Full understanding of the oceanographic characteristics of Kongtong Island is of great practical significance for the better development and utilization of Kongtong Island and the rational use of its geographic location for tourism and recreation.ZHANG Wei LIN Mengping CHEN Yang FAN Shuimiao 2019Journal of Landscape Research2019,11,6:0
