1Enhancing the accuracy of area extraction in machine vision-based pig weighing through edge detection显示文摘The accuracy of extracting projected pig area is critical to the accuracy of the weight measurement of pigs by machine vision.The capability of both the conventional and the edge detection methods for extracting pig area was examined using the images of 47 pigs of different weights.Relationship between the threshold value and the extracted area was numerically analyzed for both methods.It was found that the accuracy of the conventional method depended heavily on the threshold value,while choice of threshold value in the edge detection approach had no influence on the extracted area over a wide range.In normal lighting conditions,both methods yielded comparable values of predicted weight;however,under variable light intensities,the edge detection method was superior to the conventional method,because the former was proven to be independent of light intensities.This makes edge detection an ideal method for area extraction during the walk-through weighing process where pigs are allowed to move around.Yongsheng Wang Wade Yang Lloyd T.Walker Taha M.Rababah 2008International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2008,1,1:9
2Geotechnical risk management to prevent coal outburst in room-and-pillar mining显示文摘A coal outburst is a severe safety hazard in room-and-pillar mining under deep cover. It is more likely to occur during pillar retreating. Multi-seam mining dramatically increases the risk of coal outburst within the influence zones created by remnant pillars and gob-solid boundaries. Though coal outburst is generally associated with heavy loading of coal pillars,its occurrence is difficult to predict. Risk management provides a proactive tool to minimize coal outburst in room-and-pillar mining under deep cover. Risk assessment is the first step in identifying and quantifying outburst risk factors. The primary risk factors for coal outburst are overburden depth,roof and floor strength,geological anomalies,mining type,multi-seam mining,and panel width. A risk assessment chart can be used to proactively screen out mining sections with high risk of coal outburst for further analysis. Gob-solid boundaries and remnant pillars are critical factors in evaluation of the coal outburst risk of multi-seam mining. Risk identification,risk assessment,geologic influence mapping,geotechnical evaluation,risk analysis,risk mitigation,and monitoring are essential elements of coal outburst risk management process. 3联马团东战区多国联合战伤救治演练的组织与实施显示文摘目的:总结维和医疗分队在联马团东战区组织多国联合战伤救治演练的经验,为深入开展实战化伤员分级救治训练提供相应参考。方法:针对联马团维和部队多次遭受恐怖袭击,战现场救治、紧急救治和伤员转运、空运后送压力大、需要多国医疗分队密切合作、提高救治效率的实战背景,实施由中国维和二级医院主导、4国5支医疗分队参与的战伤救治演练。结果:演练成功实施,共计150min,抢救重伤员5人,其中2人按程序申请空运后送;二级医院留治中度伤员6人,轻伤1人;经处置后转回一级医院4人。16名伤员所设置的52项战现场处置正确率为98%。结论:维和医疗分队通过组织多国演练,在国际舞台展现了大国风采和我军卫勤的部队实战能力。充分的协调沟通、合理的设计导调、准确的点评总结是成功组织多国联合演练的重要环节。田竞 贾哲 Babacar Wade Darith Prok 2018西北国防医学杂志2018,39,4:8

6An Alzheimer's Disease-Relevant Presenilin-1 Mutation Augments Amyloid-Beta-Induced Oligodendrocyte Dysfunction显示文摘研究表明,家族性阿尔茨海默病(FAD)患者处于无症状或临床前阶段时,脑白质即出现病理改变。此种改变在髓鞘破坏及阿尔茨海默病(AD)病理生理中的作用有待进一步研究阐明。笔者前期研究证实,三重转基因AD小鼠(人淀粉前体蛋白基因的Swedish突变,早老素-1 M146V(PS1M146V)敲入突变及tauP301L突变)表现出类似FAD患者的髓鞘破坏,Aβ1-42促进了白质病变。本研究离体实验证实,PS1M146V变异导致小鼠少突胶质前体细胞在分化过程中易出现类似Aβ1-42诱导的变化。PS1M146V的表达损伤少突胶质前体细胞的功能并影响髓鞘碱性蛋白的分布,暴露于Aβ1-42加重此影响。由PS1M146V及Aβ1-42导致的髓鞘破坏及髓鞘碱性蛋白在亚细胞结构中的误定位可被TWS119(糖原合成激酶(GSK)-3β抑制剂)抑制,提示GSK-3β激酶活动在此病理过程中有重要作用。综上所述,本研究有助于增加对AD早期无症状阶段,由PS1M146V及Aβ1-42导致少突胶质细胞功能异常及髓鞘损伤的机制的理解,并提供了针对少突胶质细胞预防AD相关白质病变的新的治疗靶点。MAYA K.DESAI BRENDAN J.GUERCIO WADE C.NARROW WILLIAM J.BOWERS 2011神经损伤与功能重建2011,6,2:6
7Plant species with extremely small populations(PSESP) in China:A seed and spore biology perspective显示文摘Approximately one fifth of the world's plants are at risk of extinction.Of these,a significant number exist as populations of few individuals,with limited distribution ranges and under enormous pressure due to habitat destruction.In China,these most-at-risk species are described as 'plant species with extremely small populations'(PSESP).Implementing conservation action for such listed species is urgent.Storing seeds is one of the main means of ex situ conservation for flowering plants.Spore storage could provide a simple and economical method for fern ex situ conservation.Seed and spore germination in nature is a critical step in species regeneration and thus in situ conservation.But what is known about the seed and spore biology(storage and germination) of at-risk species? 8Diversification of Hawaiian Cyrtandra (Gesneriaceae) under the influence of incomplete lineage sorting and hybridization显示文摘Cyrtandra(Gesneriaceae)is a genus of flowering plants with over 800 species distributed throughout Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands.On the Hawaiian Islands,60 named species and over 89 putative hybrids exist,most of which are identified on the basis of morphology.Despite many previous studies on the Hawaiian Cyrtandra lineage,questions regarding the reconciliation of morphology and genetics remain,many of which can be attributed to the relatively young age and evidence of hybridization between species.We utilized targeted enrichment,high-throughput sequencing,and modern phylogenomics tools to test 31 Hawaiian Cyrtandra samples(22 species,two putative hybrids,four species with two samples each,one species with four samples)and two outgroups for species relationships and hybridization in the presence of incomplete lineage sorting(ILS).Both concatenated and species-tree methods were used to reconstruct species relationships,and network analyses were conducted to test for hybridization.We expected to see high levels of ILS and putative hybrids intermediate to their parent species.Phylogenies reconstructed from the concatenated and species-tree methods were highly incongruent,most likely due to high levels of incomplete lineage sorting.Network analyses inferred gene flow within this lineage,but not always between taxa that we expected.Multiple hybridizations were inferred,but many were on deeper branches of the island lineages suggesting a long history of hybridization.We demonstrated the utility of high-throughput sequencing and a phylogenomic approach using 569 loci to understanding species relationships and gene flow in the presence of ILS.Joseph A.Kleinkopf Wade R.Roberts Warren L.Wagner Eric H.Roalson 2019Journal of Systematics and Evolution2019,57,6:5

14Neuromuscular electrical stimulation and testosterone did not influence heterotopic ossification size after spinal cor injury: A case series显示文摘Neuromuscular electrical stimulation(NMES) and testosterone replacement therapy(TRT) are effective rehabilitation strategies to attenuate muscle atrophy and evoke hypertrophy in persons with spinal cord injury(SCI). However both interventions might increase heterotopic ossification(HO) size in SCI patients. We present the results of two men with chronic traumatic motor complete SCI who also had pre-existing HO and participated in a study investigating the effects of TRT or TRT plus NMES resistance training(RT) on body composition. The 49-year-old male, Subject A, has unilateral HO in his right thigh. The 31-year-old male, Subject B, has bilateral HO in both thighs. Both participants wore transdermal testosterone patches(4-6 mg/d) daily for 16 wk. Subject A also underwent progressive NMES-RT twice weekly for 16 wk. Magnetic resonance imaging scans were acquired prior to and post intervention. Cross-sectional areas(CSA) of thewhole thigh and knee extensor skeletal muscles, femoral bone, and HO were measured. In Subject A(NMES-RT + TRT), the whole thigh skeletal muscle CSA increased by 10%, the knee extensor CSA increased by 17%, and the HO + femoral bone CSA did not change. In Subject B(TRT), the whole thigh skeletal muscle CSA increased by 13% in the right thigh and 6% in the left thigh. The knee extensor CSA increased by 7% in the right thigh and did not change in the left thigh. The femoral bone and HO CSAs in both thighs did not change. 15Do people with low back pain walk differently? A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Background:The biomechanics of the trunk and lower limbs during walking and running gait are frequently assessed in individuals with low back pain(LBP).Despite substantial research,it is still unclear whether consistent and generalizable changes in walking or running gait occur in association with LBP.The purpose of this systematic review was to identify whether there are differences in biomechanics during walking and running gait in individuals with acute and persistent LBP compared with back-healthy controls.Methods:A search was conducted in PubMed,CINAHL,SPORTDiscus,and PsycINFO in June 2019 and was repeated in December 2020.Studies were included if they reported biomechanical characteristics of individuals with and without LBP during steady-state or perturbed walking and running.Biomechanical data included spatiotemporal,kinematic,kinetic,and electromyography variables.The reporting quality and potential for bias of each study was assessed.Data were pooled where possible to compare the standardized mean differences(SMD)between back pain and back-healthy control groups.Results:Ninety-seven studies were included and reviewed.Two studies investigated acute pain and the rest investigated persistent pain.Nine studies investigated running gait.Of the studies,20%had high reporting quality/low risk of bias.In comparison with back-healthy controls,individuals with persistent LBP walked slower(SMD=-0.59,95%confidence interval(95%CI):-0.77 to-0.42)and with shorter stride length(SMD=-0.38,95%CI:-0.60 to-0.16).There were no differences in the amplitude of motion in the thoracic or lumbar spine,pelvis,or hips in individuals with LBP.During walking,coordination of motion between the thorax and the lumbar spine/pelvis was significantly more in-phase in the persistent LBP groups(SMD=-0.60,95%CI:-0.90 to-0.30),and individuals with persistent LBP exhibited greater amplitude of activation in the paraspinal muscles(SMD=0.52,95%CI:0.23-0.80).There were no consistent differences in running biomechanics between groups.Conclusion:There is moderate-to-strong evidence that individuals with persistent LBP demonstrate differences in walking gait compared to back-healthy controls.Jo Armour Smith Heidi Stabbert Jennifer J.Bagwell Hsiang-Ling Teng Vernie Wade Szu-Ping Lee 2022Journal of Sport and Health Science2022,11,4:3
