1Antibacterial activity of various leaf extracts of Merremia emarginata显示文摘Objective:To investigate the antibacterial activity and phytochemical screening of the aqueous.methanol and petroleum ether leaf extracts of Merremia emarginata(M.emarginata).Methods:The antibavterial activity of leaf extracts of M.emarginata were evaluated by agar well diffusion method against four selected bacterial species.Results:The presence of tannins,flavonoids,amino acids,starch,glycosides and carbohydrates in the different leaf extracts was established.The methanol extract was more effective against Baciilus cereus and Eseherkhia coli,whereas aqueous extract was more effective against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.Condusions:The results in the present study suggest that M.emarginata leaf can be used in treating diseases caused by the tested organisms.EK Elumalai M Ramachandran T Thirumalai P Vinothkumar 2011Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2011,1,5:8
2Paddy Leaf Disease Detection Using an Optimized Deep Neural Network显示文摘Precision Agriculture is a concept of farm management which makes use of IoT and networking concepts to improve the crop.Plant diseases are one of the underlying causes in the decrease in the number of quantity and quality of the farming crops.Recognition of diseases from the plant images is an active research topic which makes use of machine learning(ML)approaches.A novel deep neural network(DNN)classification model is proposed for the identification of paddy leaf disease using plant image data.Classification errors were minimized by optimizing weights and biases in the DNN model using a crow search algorithm(CSA)during both the standard pre-training and fine-tuning processes.This DNN-CSA architecture enables the use of simplistic statistical learning techniques with a decreased computational workload,ensuring high classification accuracy.Paddy leaf images were first preprocessed,and the areas indicative of disease were initially extracted using a k-means clustering method.Thresholding was then applied to eliminate regions not indicative of disease.Next,a set of features were extracted from the previously isolated diseased regions.Finally,the classification accuracy and efficiency of the proposed DNN-CSA model were verified experimentally and shown to be superior to a support vector machine with multiple cross-fold validations.Shankaranarayanan Nalini Nagappan Krishnaraj Thangaiyan Jayasankar Kalimuthu Vinothkumar Antony Sagai Francis Britto Kamalraj Subramaniam Chokkaligam Bharatiraja 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,7:2
3Multilayer perceptron neural network activated by adaptive Gaussian radial basis function and its application to predict lid-driven cavity flow显示文摘To improve the performance of multilayer perceptron(MLP)neural networks activated by conventional activation functions,this paper presents a new MLP activated by univariate Gaussian radial basis functions(RBFs)with adaptive centers and widths,which is composed of more than one hidden layer.In the hidden layer of the RBF-activated MLP network(MLPRBF),the outputs of the preceding layer are first linearly transformed and then fed into the univariate Gaussian RBF,which exploits the highly nonlinear property of RBF.Adaptive RBFs might address the issues of saturated outputs,low sensitivity,and vanishing gradients in MLPs activated by other prevailing nonlinear functions.Finally,we apply four MLP networks with the rectified linear unit(ReLU),sigmoid function(sigmoid),hyperbolic tangent function(tanh),and Gaussian RBF as the activation functions to approximate the one-dimensional(1D)sinusoidal function,the analytical solution of viscous Burgers’equation,and the two-dimensional(2D)steady lid-driven cavity flows.Using the same network structure,MLP-RBF generally predicts more accurately and converges faster than the other threeMLPs.MLP-RBF using less hidden layers and/or neurons per layer can yield comparable or even higher approximation accuracy than other MLPs equipped with more layers or neurons.Qinghua Jiang Lailai Zhu Chang Shu Vinothkumar Sekar 2021Acta Mechanica Sinica2021,37,12:1

6应用于高压直流电网充电启动的混合式直流断路器显示文摘近年来高压直流(high-voltage direct current,HVDC)输电技术,尤其是基于电压源换流器(voltage source converters,VSC)的直流输电技术在电力传输中的应用得到飞速发展,由此推动发展的直流电网概念,呈现出与传统交流输电系统相辅相成的趋势。建立可靠的直流电网,必然需要能将直流故障隔离的设备,例如混合式高压直流断路器(hybrid HVDC Breaker,HHB)。HHB可以隔离系统中的短时或永久故障。此外,基于模块化设计的HHB及其智能控制系统,应用顺序合闸控制功能可以辅助直流线路故障后的重启过程,同时可以借助此功能消除换流器启动过程中因子模块充电而引发的涌流问题,从而替代直流启动电阻(pre-insertion resistor,PIR)。介绍了混合式高压直流断路器(HHB)的模块化设计概念和换流器充电过程中HHB的时序逻辑,并在PSCAD中搭建了多端直流电网模型,仿真验证了HHB分级顺序合闸逻辑的合理性,通过对比充电过程的换流器各电气量变化验证了所提出方法对系统性能的显著改善。提出的方法为实现高压直流电网的高效经济运行提供了解决方案。王国英 Arman Hassanpoor 邓娜 Vinothkumar K 2018全球能源互联网2018,1,4:1
