| 3 | Single Pt atom decorated graphitic carbon nitride as an efficient photocatalyst for the hydrogenation of nitrobenzene into aniline显示文摘The hydrogenation of nitrobenzene into aniline is one of industrially important reactions, but still remains great challenge due to the lack of highly active, chemo-selective and eco-friendly catalyst. By using extensive density functional theory (DFT) calculations, herein we predict that single Pt atom decorated g-C3N4 (Pt@g-C3N4) exhibits excellent catalytic activity and selectivity for the conversion of nitrobenzene into aniline under visible light. The overall activation energy barrier for the hydrogenation of nitrobenzene on single atom Pt@g-C3N4 catalyst is even lower than that of the bare Pt(111) surface. The dissociation of N-0 bonds on single Pt atom is triggered by single hydrogen atom rather than double hydrogen atoms on the Pt(111) surface. Moreover, the Pt@g-C3N4 catalyst exhibits outstanding chemoselectivity towards the common reducible substituents, such as phenyl,-C=C,-C = C and -CHO groups during the hydrogenation. In addition, the doped single Pt atom can significantly enhance the photoconversion efficiency by broadening the light absorption of the pristine g-C3N4 to visible light region. | 4 | Studies on Production of Biodiesel by Esterification of Fatty Acids by a Lipase Preparation from Candida sp. 99-125显示文摘A self-made lipase preparation from Candida sp. 99-125 was used for the production of biodiesel through enzymatic esterification of fatty acids. The crude lipase powder and fermentation broth were immobilized on a cheap fiber cloth carrier. The conditions of lipase-catalyzed esterification between long-chain fatty acids and methanol in a solvent system were investigated in detail, including the temperature, pH value, substrate concentration, solvent, absorbent agent, enzyme dosage and purity, immobilization method, the mode of addition of substrate. The results show that reaction temperature, pH of lipase micro-environment, substrate concentration, enzyme dosage and purity affect the esterification strongly. Several new methods and enzymatic procedures for improving the enzymatic reaction involving the process cost are also discussed, such as fossil diesel fuel as reaction solvent, immobilization method, multi-step gradient addition of methanol. The esterification degree of 92.8% was obtained with oleic acid and methanol under the optimal reaction condition after 12.5 h reaction time. | 6 | Reductive immobilization of perrhenate in soil and groundwater using starch-stabilized ZVI nanoparticles显示文摘Perrhenate(ReO4-) was used as nonradioactive surrogate for the radionuclide pertechnetate(99TcO-4) to investigate the potential of using starch-stabilized zero valent iron(ZVI) nanoparticles for reductive immobilization of pertechnetate in soil and groundwater.Batch kinetic tests indicated that the starch-stabilized ZVI nanoparticles were able to reductively remove ~96% of perrhenate(10 mg/L) from water within 8 h.XRD analyses confirmed that ReO 2 was the reduction product.A pseudo-first-order kinetic model was able to interpret the kinetic data,which gave a pseudo first order rate constant(kobs) value of 0.43h-1 at pH 6.9 and room temperature(25℃).Increasing solution pH up to 8 progressively increased the reaction rate.However,highly alkaline pH(10) resulted in much inhibited reaction rate.Consequently,the optimal pH range was identified to be from 7 to 8.Increasing solution temperature from 15 to 45℃ increased k obs from 0.38 to 0.53 h-1.The classical Arrhenius equation was able to interpret the temperature effect,which gave a low activation energy value of 7.61 kJ/mol.When the ReO-4-loaded loess was treated with the stabilized nanoparticles suspension([Fe]=560 mg/L),the water leachable ReO-4 was reduced by 57% and nearly all eluted Re was in the form of ReO2.This finding indicates that starch-stabilized ZVI nanoparticles are promising for facilitating in situ immobilization of ReO-4 in soil and groundwater. | LIU HongFang QIAN TianWei ZHAO DongYe | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,2: | 7 |
| 7 | Multiple seismological evidences of basin effects revealed by Array of Binchuan(ABC), northwest Yunnan, China显示文摘Dense array seismology, which is characterized by large number, densely deployed autonomous geophone/seismographs, has received great concerns worldwide recently, especially after the great success of dense array in Long Beach. One of the biggest curiosity is that if the great success in Long Beach is replicable in China. Hence, we analyze the seismic records from a dense array in Binchuan basin, Yunnan province, which consists of three-component short-period seismographs of three most common domestic models. The Binchuan basin is located near the intersection between the Chenghai-Binchuan fault and the Red River fault,with the latter being the major fault accommodating significant tectonic deformation resulting from eastern extrusion of the Tibetan plateau. Both faults pose serious seismic threats to local residents in Binchuan basin. Basinrange differences, faults, local earthquakes, and a Fixed Airgun Seismic Transmitting Station(FASTS), make the Binchuan basin a perfect experiment site for dense array experiment. The array is named Array of Binchuan(ABC)and the main target is imaging the shallow crustal structure,especially the structure of the basin. To examine the monitoring capability of ABC, we analyze the seismograms to check if they can reveal the basin, the most significant geological feature in the area. Power spectral density analysis,travel time and amplitude analysis of FASTS signals, and amplitude analysis of earthquakes and noise cross-correlation functions are used in the analysis. All the results show correlation with the basin and clear difference between basin and non-basin area. | 8 | Structure and deformation measurements of shallow overburden during top coal caving longwall mining显示文摘Mining induced pressures are strong and overburden failure areas are large in top coal caving longwall mining, which constrains high production and safety mining. By employing the combination of the full view borehole photography technique and the seismic CT scanner technique, the deformation and failure of overlying strata of fully mechanized caving face in shallow coal seam were studied and the failure development of overburden was determined. Results show that the full view borehole photography can reveal the characteristics of strata, and the seismic CT scanner can reflect the characteristics of strata between the boreholes. The combined measurement technique can effectively determine the height of fractured and caved zones. The top end of the caved zone in Yangwangou coal mine employing the top coal caving longwall mining was at the depth of 171 m and fractured zone was at the depth of 106-110 m. | 9 | Soil Erodibility and Physicochemical Properties of Collapsing Gully Alluvial Fans in Southern China显示文摘In southern China, collapsing gully erosion produces massive deposits of sediment on the plough layer of alluvial fan farmland,leading to reduced nutrients, increased erodibility, and even desertification. The aim of this study was to investigate soil erodibility(the factor K in the Universal Soil Loss Equation, USLE) and physicochemical properties of the alluvial fans of the most severe collapsing gully erosion areas(Hubei, Jiangxi, Fujian, and Guangdong provinces) in southern China. The soils of the collapsing gully alluvial fans had a higher bulk density, but a lower total porosity, saturated water content, and silt and clay fractions than the control(CK) soils from the farmland without desertification. Soil quality gradually decreased from fan edge to fanhead. Significant decreases were found in soil p H, organic matter, cation exchange capacity, and total potassium, nitrogen, and phosphorus, as well as available nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, resulting in a gradual decrease in soil nutrients from the fanedge to the fanhead. Soil erodibility was greatest in the fanhead, and soil erodibility K values of the alluvial fans were 53.71%, 66.28%, 67.53%, and 71.68% greater than that in those of the CK soils of Hubei, Jiangxi, Fujian, and Guangdong, respectively, indicating a significant correlation between the soil erodibility K values and physicochemical properties, particularly sand fraction and organic matter content. | 15 | Review of Lagrangian stochastic models for turbulent combustion显示文摘Predictive simulation of the combustion process in engine is crucial to understand the complex underlying physicochemical processes, improve engine performance, and reduce pollutant emissions. Key issues such as the physical modeling of the interaction between turbulence, chemistry and droplets, and the incorporation of the detailed chemistry in high-fidelity simulations of complex flows remain essential though challenging. This paper reviews the transported probability density function method for turbulent dilute spray flames in the dual-Lagrangian framework that shows potential to address some critical modeling issues. An overview is presented for the contributions made within the last decade or so for the three key ingredients for modeling the interaction between turbulence, chemistry and droplets, i.e., micro-mixing, subgrid dispersion and two-phase coupling. Then, various methods for detailed chemistry acceleration are reviewed to address the issue of high computational cost for its use in multidimensional simulations. Finally, some applications of the dual-Lagrangian method in both laboratory-scale and device-scale configurations are provided to demonstrate its capability as well as deficiency at the current stage. | 16 | Chiral separation of racemic drugs using molecular imprinting显示文摘Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) of (S)-ketoprofen and (S)-naproxen are prepared using non-covalent imprinting in the presence of template molecules. The prepared MIPs are used as the chiral stationary phase to separate ramemic naproxen and ketoprofen. The results show that racemic naproxen and ketoprofen are efficiently resolved on MIPs. The effect of concentration of acetic acid in the mobile phase is studied, and the data are analyzed using the affinity chromatography model, and the close agreement is achieved between the simulated and experimental curves. The results suggest that the affinity chromatography mechanism controls the retention in this system.
