1Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography in peripheral lung consolidations: What's its actual role?显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of contrastenhanced ultrasonography(CEUS)in the differential diagnosis between neoplastic and non-neoplastic peripheral pleuro-pulmonary lesions.METHODS:One hundred patients with pleural or peripheral pulmonary lesions underwent thoracic CEUS.An 8 microliters/mL solution of sulfur hexafluoride microbubbles stabilized by a phospholipid shell(SonoVue)was used as US contrast agent.The clips were stored and independently reviewed by two readers,who recorded the following parameters:presence/absence of arterial enhancement,time to enhancement(TE),extent of enhancement(EE),pattern of enhancement(PE),presence/absence of wash-out,time to wash-out,and extent of wash-out.After the final diagnosis(based on histopathologic findings or follow-up of at least 15 mo)was reached,sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value(PPV),negative predictive value(NPV),positive likelihood ratio(PLR),negative likelihood ratio(NLR)of each CEUS parameter in the differential diagnosis between neoplastic and nonneoplastic lesions were calculated.Furthermore,an arbitrary score based on the ratio between the PPVs of each CEUS parameter was calculated,to evaluate if some relationship could exist between overall CEUS behaviour and neoplastic or non-neoplastic nature of the lesions.Sergio Sartori Simona Postorivo Francesca Di Vece Fran-cesca Ermili Davide Tassinari Paola Tombesi 2013World Journal of Radiology2013,5,10:19
2经皮肝穿刺射频消融治疗包膜下肝肿瘤与非包膜下肝肿瘤效用与安全性的前瞻性对照研究显示文摘目的评价经皮肝穿刺射频(RF)消融治疗包膜下肝肿瘤的效用与安全性。方法本研究经伦理委员会批准,所有受试者都签署了知情同意书。18t例病人(男79例,女102例,年龄36~85岁)的361个原发或继发(转移的)肝肿瘤进行了超声引导下的经皮RF消融治疗。44例病人有1个或1个以上包膜下肿瘤(组1),137病人仅有非包膜下肿瘤(组2)。总共80个包膜下结节和281个非包膜下结节。RF消融后1个月进行增强CT扫描评价消融的完整性。如果CT显示肿瘤残留,则再次进行RF消融。所有1次或2次RF消融治疗后的病人,每3个月进行CT或增强US进行监控。S. 3Physical energies to the rescue of damaged tissues显示文摘Rhythmic oscillatory patterns sustain cellular dynamics, driving the concerted action of regulatory molecules, microtubules, and molecular motors. We describe cellular microtubules as oscillators capable of synchronization and swarming, generating mechanical and electric patterns that impact biomolecular recognition. We consider the biological relevance of seeing the inside of cells populated by a network of molecules that behave as bioelectronic circuits and chromophores. We discuss the novel perspectives disclosed by mechanobiology, bioelectromagnetism, and photobiomodulation, both in term of fundamental basic science and in light of the biomedical implication of using physical energies to govern (stem) cell fate. We focus on the feasibility of exploiting atomic force microscopy and hyperspectral imaging to detect signatures of nanomotions and electromagnetic radiation (light), respectively, generated by the stem cells across the specification of their multilineage repertoire. The chance is reported of using these signatures and the diffusive features of physical waves to direct specifically the differentiation program of stem cells in situ, where they already are resident in all the tissues of the human body. We discuss how this strategy may pave the way to a regenerative and precision medicine without the needs for (stem) cell or tissue transplantation. 4Process Mineralogy of Lateritic Nickel Ore显示文摘This paper presents a methodology for studying low grade lateritic nickel ore, which usually presents complex mineralogy, with widespread nickel in several mineral phases. The study is focused on determining the mineralogy and the distribution of nickel in the bearing minerals. Laboratory assays comprise homogenization, sampling and particle size analysis. Chemical analyses by X-ray fluorescence are performed in all fractions sizes, while mineralogical assessments by X-ray diffraction are carried out for head sample. The mineralogical composition of the samples and the partition of main elements in the bearing minerals are assayed by size fraction through automated image analysis software (MLA) coupled to a scanning electron microscope (SEM). 5Properties of agricultural aerosol released during wheat harvest threshing,plowing and sowing显示文摘This study shows for the first time a chemical and morphological characterization of agricultural aerosols released during three important agricultural operations:threshing,plowing and sowing.The field campaigns were carried out in the eastern part of the Po Valley,Italy,in summer and autumn 2009.The aerosol particles were sampled on quartz fiber filters and polytetrafluoroethylene membranes in order to allow Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry(ICP-MS)analysis and Scanning Electron Microscopy equipped with an Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometer(SEM-EDS)investigations,respectively.The organic carbon mass concentrations were measured with a Sunset Laboratory Dual-Optical Organic Carbone/Elemental Carbon(OCEC)Aerosol analyzer.The morphological and chemical analyses by SEM-EDS allowed recognizing four main particle classes:organic,silica,calcite and clay minerals.The organic particles contribute to both fine and coarse aerosol fractions up to ca.50%for all three agricultural activities.This was also confirmed by OCEC analysis for fine fraction.Most of the agricultural aerosols,about 60%,were single particles and the remaining 40%were agglomerations of particles.The ICP-MS results showed that threshing and plowing produce more aerosol particles than sowing,which was characterized by important amounts of clay minerals produced from land soils.Chiara Telloli Antonella Malaguti Mihaela Mircea Renzo Tassinari Carmela Vaccaro Massimo Berico 2014Journal of Environmental Sciences2014,26,9:2
6Similar Soils but Different Soil-Forming Factors: Converging Evolution of Inceptisols in Brazil显示文摘Soils result from the interaction of five independent formation factors.If one factor varies,while the others remain constant,different soils can be produced.Herein,we demonstrated an opposing trend,wherein two soils were similar,despite considerable differences in all factors of soil formation.We sampled two Inceptisols(Oxic Dystrudepts) formed on different parent materials(gneiss vs.mica schist),climate(tropical altimontane vs.warmer,drier plateau),topography(1 650 m,45% slope vs.1 000 m,8% slope),time(rejuvenated vs.old,stable surface),and vegetation(rainforest vs.Cerrado savanna).The two soils had similar chemical properties,whereas the soil on mica schist had finer particle size distribution,lower porosity,and lower saturated hydraulic conductivity.These properties were related to a coarser blocky microstructure compared to the soil on gneiss.Both soils presented active mineral weathering and pronounced pedoplasmation,demonstrated by clay contents>300 g kg^(-1),although only the Dystrudept on gneiss possessed coarse rock fragments.The C horizons of both soils presented fragmented clay coatings suggestive of argilluviation,likely relict,because they were not observed in the B horizons.The similarities in many properties of the two Dystrudepts,despite contrasting factors of soil formation,suggest converging evolution and that soil classification at the subgroup level was efficient in grouping similar formative processes in tropical conditions.Moreover,this work revealed that similar pedogenic processes acting on different factors of soil formation can result in similar soil properties,at least for Inceptisols where further soil development is hindered by topographic limitations.Alba L.A.SKORUPA Sérgio H.G.SILVA Giovana C.POGGERE Diego TASSINARI Leundro C.PINTO Yuri L.ZINN Nilton CURI 2017Pedosphere2017,27,4:2
