| 1 | Metagenomic Surveys of Gut Microbiota显示文摘Gut microbiota of higher vertebrates is host-specific. The number and diversity of the organisms residing within the gut ecosystem are defined by physiological and environmental factors,such as host genotype, habitat, and diet. Recently, culture-independent sequencing techniques have added a new dimension to the study of gut microbiota and the challenge to analyze the large volume of sequencing data is increasingly addressed by the development of novel computational tools and methods. Interestingly, gut microbiota maintains a constant relative abundance at operational taxonomic unit(OTU) levels and altered bacterial abundance has been associated with complex diseases such as symptomatic atherosclerosis, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and colorectal cancer. Therefore, the study of gut microbial population has emerged as an important field of research in order to ultimately achieve better health. In addition, there is a spontaneous, non-linear, and dynamic interaction among different bacterial species residing in the gut. Thus, predicting the influence of perturbed microbe–microbe interaction network on health can aid in developing novel therapeutics. | 2 | Application of response surface methodology(RSM) for optimization of leaching parameters for ash reduction from low-grade coal显示文摘Coal is the world's most abundant energy source because of its abundance and relatively low cost. Due to the scarcity in the supply of high-grade coal, it is necessary to use low-grade coal for fulfilling energy demands of modern civilization. However, due to its high ash and moisture content, low-grade coal exerts the substantial impact on their consumption like pyrolysis, liquefaction, gasification and combustion process. The present research aimed to develop the efficient technique for the production of clean coal by optimizing the operating parameters with the help of response surface methodology. The effect of three independent variables such as hydrofluoric acid(HF) concentration(10–20% by volume), temperature(60–100 °C), and time(90–180 min), for ash reduction from the low-grade coal was investigated. A quadratic model was proposed to correlate the independent variables for maximum ash reduction at the optimum process condition by using central composite design(CCD) method. The study reveals that HF concentration was the most effective parameter for ash reduction in comparison with time and temperature. It may be due to the higher F-statistics value for HF concentration, which effects to large extent of ash reduction. | 3 | Robotic assisted Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy in a post-cholecystectomy type E2 bile duct injury显示文摘Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy anastomosis is the treatment of choice for common hepatic duct injury type E2.It has been performed laparoscopically with the advancement of laparoscopic skill.Recently,a telemanipulative robotic surgical system was introduced,providing laparoscopic instruments with wrist-arm technology and 3-dimensional visualization of theoperative field.We present a case of 36-year-old female patient who had undergone elective cholecystectomy2 mo ago for gall stones and had a common bile duct injury during surgery.As the stricture was old and complete it could not be tackled endoscopically.We did a laparoscopic assisted adhesiolysis followed by robotic Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy.No intraoperative complications or technical problems were encountered.Postoperative period was uneventful and she was discharged on the 4th postoperative day.At followup,she is doing well without evidence of jaundice or cholangitis.This is the first reported case of robotic hepaticojejunostomy following common bile duct injury.The hybrid technique gives the patient benefit of laparoscopic adhesiolysis and robotic suturing. | Arun Prasad Sudipto De Purak Mishra Abhishek Tiwari | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,6: | 5 |
| 4 | Use of Biotic Community Structure as a Measure of Ecological Degradation显示文摘The benthic macroinvertebrate communities of two lotic aquatic habitats,namely,the Churni River(C-R)and the Jalangi River(J-R)were compared in this study.One lotic aquatic system(C-R)was polluted by organic pollutants due to discharge of unprocessed sewage water,while the other(J-R)was not affected by such pollution.Evaluations of various physico-chemical properties of water,sediment and different macroinvertebrate communities of the two tropical lotic systems were done in a period from January,2002 to December,2003.A long term temporal change in the macroinvertebrate communities was recorded due to increase in sediment rH value.Sediment redox potential affected by the anthropogenic activities was found to be an important factor for alteration of macroinvertebrate communities in these aquatic ecosystems.A positive correlation has been established between rH and Margalef index in this study.Potassium and the total count of coliform bacteria in water showed significantly higher values for the polluted Churni River than those for the Jalangi River.Fig 3,Tab 4,Ref | SANJIB Kumar Das DIBYENDU Biswas SUDIPTO Roy | 2007 | 应用与环境生物学报2007,13,5: | 3 |
