1Enhanced CH4 selectivity in CO2 photocatalytic reduction over carbon quantum dots decorated and oxygen doping g-C3N4显示文摘Graphitic carbon nitride(g-C3N4,CN)exhibits inefficient charge separation,deficient CO2 adsorption and activation sites,and sluggish surface reaction kinetics,which have been recognized as the main barriers to its application in CO2 photocatalytic reduction.In this work,carbon quantum dot(CQD)decoration and oxygen atom doping were applied to CN by a facile one-step hydrothermal method.The incorporated CQDs not only facilitate charge transfer and separation,but also provide alternative CO2 adsorption and activation sites.Further,the oxygen-atom-doped CN(OCN),in which oxygen doping is accompanied by the formation of nitrogen defects,proves to be a sustainable H^+ provider by facilitating the water dissociation and oxidation half-reactions.Because of the synergistic effect of the hybridized binary CQDs/OCN addressing the three challenging issues of the CN based materials,the performance of CO2 photocatalytic conversion to CH4 over CQDs/OCN-x(x represents the volume ratio of laboratory-used H2O2(30 wt.%)in the mixed solution)is dramatically improved by 11 times at least.The hybrid photocatalyst design and mechanism proposed in this work could inspire more rational design and fabrication of effective photocatalysts for CO2 photocatalytic conversion with a high CH4 selectivity.Qian Li Songcan Wang Zhuxing Sun Qijun Tang Yiqiu Liu Lianzhou Wang Haiqiang Wang Zhongbiao Wu 2019Nano Research2019,12,11:9
2Recent Progress on Visible Light Responsive Heterojunctions for Photocatalytic Applications显示文摘Photocatalysis has attracted much attention in recent years due to its potential in solving energy and environmental issues.Even though numerous achievements have been made,the photocatalytic systems developed to date are still far from practical applications due to the low efficiency and poor durability.Efficient light absorption and charge separation are two of the key factors for the exploration of high performance photocatalytic systems,which is generally difficult to be obtained in a single photocatalyst.The combination of various materials to form heterojunctions provides an effective way to better harvest solar energy and to facilitate charge separation and transfer,thus enhancing the photocatalytic activity and stability.This review concisely summarizes the recent development of visible light responsive heterojunctions,including the preparation and performances of semiconductor/semiconductor junctions,semiconductor/cocatalyst junctions,semiconductor/metal junctions,semiconductor/nonmetal junctions,and surface heterojunctions,and their mechanism for enhanced light harvesting and charge separation/transfer.Songcan Wang Jung-Ho Yun Bin Luo Teera Butburee Piangjai Peerakiatkhajohn Supphasin Thaweesak Mu Xiao Lianzhou Wang 2017Journal of Materials Science & Technology2017,33,1:9
3Solar energy conversion on g-C3N4 photocatalyst:Light harvesting,charge separation,and surface kinetics显示文摘Photocatalysis, which utilizes solar energy to trigger chemical reactions, is one of the most desirable solar-energy-conversion approaches. Graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_3N_4), as an attractive metal-free photocatalyst, has drawn worldwide research interest in the area of solar energy conversion due to its easy synthesis, earth-abundant nature, physicochemical stability and visible-light-responsive properties. Over the past ten years, g-C_3N_4 based photocatalysts have experienced intensive exploration, and great progress has been achieved. However, the solar conversion efficiency is still far from industrial applications due to the wide bandgap, severe charge recombination, and lack of surface active sites. Many strategies have been proposed to enhance the light absorption, reduce the recombination of charge carriers and accelerate the surface kinetics. This work makes a crucial review about the main contributions of various strategies to the light harvesting, charge separation and surface kinetics of g-C_3N_4 photocatalyst. Furthermore, the evaluation measurements for the enhanced light harvesting, reduced charge recombination and accelerated surface kinetics will be discussed. 6Manifold contraction for semi-supervised classification显示文摘The generalization ability of classification is often closely related to both the intra-class compactness and the inter-class separability.Owing to the fact that many current dimensionality reduction methods, regarded as a pre-processor, often lead to the poor classification performance on real-life data, in this paper, a new data preprocessing technique called manifold contraction(MC) is proposed for the classification-oriented learning task.The main motivation behind MC lies in seeking a proper mapping of contracting the given multiple-manifold data such that the ratio of the intra-class to the inter-class scatters is minimized.Moreover, in order to properly control the contraction level in MC, an adaptive MC(AMC) criterion is developed in the semi-supervised setting.Due to its generality, MC can be not only applied in original space and reproducing kernel Hilbert space(RKHS), but also easily incorporated with dimensionality reduction method for further improvement of classification performance.The final experimental results show that MC, as a data preprocessor, is effective and promising in the subsequent classification learning, especially in small-size labeled sample case.HU EnLiang CHEN SongCan YIN XueSong 2010Science China(Information Sciences)2010,53,6:3

9Recent progress of tungsten-and molybdenum-based semiconductor materials for solar-hydrogen production显示文摘Semiconductor-based solar water splitting is regarded as one of the most promising technologies for clean hydrogen produc-tion.The rational design of semiconductor materials is critically important to achieve high solar-to-hydrogen(STH)con-version efficiencies towards practical applications.A rich family of tungsten-and molybdenum-based materials have been developed as both photocatalysts and cocatalysts for solar-hydrogen production in the past years,providing more opportunities to achieve high solar-to-hydrogen(STH)efficiencies.In this review article,we comprehensively review the recent progress of tungsten-and molybdenum-based materials for solar-hydrogen production.In particular,the strengths and drawbacks of each material system are critically discussed,followed by an overview of the emerging strategies to improve their performances.Finally,the key challenges and possible research directions of tungsten-and molybdenum-based materials are presented,which would provide useful information for the design of efficient semiconductor materials for solar-hydrogen production.Songcan Wang Lianzhou Wang 2019Tungsten2019,1,1:3
10Nanoporous MoO_(3−x)/BiVO_(4)photoanodes promoting charge separation for efficient photoelectrochemical water splitting显示文摘Owing to the relatively short hole diffusion length,severe charge recombination in the bulk of bismuth vanadate(BiVO_(4))is the key issue for photoelectrochemical water splitting.Herein,we design a nanoporous MoO_(3−x)/BiVO_(4)heterojunction photoanode to promote charge separation.The efficient electron transport properties of oxygen deficient MoO_(3−x)and the nanoporous structure are beneficial for charge separation,leading to a significantly enhanced PEC performance.The optimized MoO_(3−x)/BiVO_(4)heterojunction photoanode exhibits a photocurrent density of 5.07 mA·cm^(−2)for Na_(2)SO_(3)oxidation.By depositing FeOOH/NiOOH dual oxygen evolution cocatalysts to promote surface kinetics,a high photocurrent density of 4.81 mA·cm^(−2)can be achieved for PEC water splitting,exhibiting an excellent applied bias photon-to-current efficiency of 1.57%.Moreover,stable overall water splitting is achieved under consecutive light illumination for 10 h.We provide a proof of concept for the design of efficient BiVO_(4)-based heterojunction photoanodes for stable PEC water splitting.Songcan Wang Boyan Liu Xin Wang Yingjuan Zhang Wei Huang 2022Nano Research2022,15,8:2
11Efficient sequential harvesting of solar light by heterogeneous hollow shells with hierarchical pores显示文摘In nature,sequential harvesting of light widely exists in the old life entity,i.e.cyanobacteria,to maximize the light absorption and enhance the photosynthesis efficiency.Inspired by nature,we propose a brand new concept of temporally-spatially sequential harvesting of light in one single particle,which has purpose-designed heterogeneous hollow multi-shelled structures(HoMSs)with porous shells composed of nanoparticle subunits.Structurally,HoMSs consist of different band-gap materials outside-in,thus realizing the efficient harvesting of light with different wavelengths.Moreover,introducing oxygen vacancies into each nanoparticle subunit can also enhance the light absorption.With the benefit of sequential harvesting of light in HoMSs,the quantum efficiency at wavelength of 400 nm is enhanced by six times compared with the corresponding nanoparticles.Impressively,using these aforementioned materials as photocatalysts;highly efficient photocatalytic water splitting is realized,which cannot be achieved by using the nanoparticle counterparts.This new concept of temporally-spatially sequential harvesting of solar light paves the way for solving the ever-growing energy demand.Yanze Wei Jiawei Wan Nailiang Yang Yu Yang Yanwen Ma Songcan Wang Jiangyan Wang Ranbo Yu Lin Gu Lianhui Wang Lianzhou Wang Wei Huang Dan Wang 2020National Science Review2020,7,11:2

13Crowdsourcing aggregation with deep Bayesian learning显示文摘In this study,we consider a crowdsourcing classification problem in which labeling information from crowds is aggregated to infer latent true labels.We propose a fully Bayesian deep generative crowdsourcing model(Bayes DGC),which combines the strength of deep neural networks(DNNs)on automatic representation learning and the interpretable probabilistic structure encoding of probabilistic graphical models.The model comprises a DNN classifier as a prior for the true labels and a probabilistic model for the annotation generation process.The DNN classifier and annotation generation process share the latent true label variables.To address the inference challenge,we developed a natural-gradient stochastic variational inference,which combines variational message passing for conjugate parameters and stochastic gradient descent for DNN and learns the distribution of latent true labels and workers’confusion matrix via end-to-end training.We illustrated the effectiveness of the proposed model using empirical results on 22 real-world datasets.Shao-Yuan LI Sheng-Jun HUANG Songcan CHEN 2021Science China(Information Sciences)2021,64,3:2
