1Konjac-mulberry leaf compound powder alleviates OVA-induced allergic rhinitis in BALB/c mice显示文摘According to the proportion of 1:1, konjac flour and mulberry leaf powder are compounded into a kind of dietary fiber source(KMCP). It is found to be good for anti-inflammation. However, its precise anti-allergic rhinitis effect and mechanism remain unknown. In our work, the effect of KMCP on allergic rhinitis(AR)induced by ovalbumin(OVA)was investigated. We found that the number of nasal rubbing and sneezing, the eosinophil(EOS)count in the nasal mucosa, and the serum levels of histamine(HIS), OVA-specific immunoglobulin E(OVA-sIgE)and interleukin-4(IL-4)were decreased, and the histopathological changes of nasal mucosa were inhibited. Additionally, the experiments further proved that the KMCP treatment could exert substantial effects on short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs)metabolism in the cecum as well. 2Salicylic acid sensitizes cervical cancer cells to radiotherapy by activating AMPK/TSC2/mTOR pathway显示文摘Objective:To investigate the radio-sensitizing effect of salicylic acid(SA)on human cervical cancer cells and its potential molecular mechanism.Methods:Cervical cancer cells were treated with SA and ionizing radiation.The expression ofγ-H2AX was evaluated by immunofluorescence(IF)assay.Cell cycle and apoptosis were analyzed by flow cytometry.Western blot was performed to detect the protein level of AMPK/TSC2/mTOR pathway.Results:SA inhibited basal proliferation of cervical cancer cells in a dose and time dependent manner.In addition,SA increased radiation-induced DNA damage,promoted apoptosis,triggered a redistribution of cell cycle from G2-M phase to G1-S phase of cervical cancer cells,and hence increased cell sensitivity to radiation.Moreover,SA treatment elevated the expression levels of p-AMPKα(t=3.996,P<0.05)and p-TSC2(t=5.308,P<0.05),whereas the level of p-mTOR(t=10.160,P<0.05)was significantly decreased.Conclusion:SA enhances the radiosensitivity of cervical cancer cells by targeting AMPK/TSC2/mTOR signaling pathway,and might serve as a promising therapeutic strategy to improve the efficacy of radiotherapy for cervical cancer.Shun Lu Wenjing Ye Jie Zhou Guangming Yi Jianming Huang Siyao Deng Minglun Li Yimin Li Yanqiong Song Jiayu Zhang Lichun Wei Guiquan Zhu Jinyi Lang 2022Radiation Medicine and Protection2022,3,1:0
3Three putative DIMA replication/repair elements encoding genes confer self-resistance to distamycin in Streptomyces显示文摘Distamycin(DST)is a well-characterized DNA minor groove binder with antivirus activity and anti tumor potency.Two separate gene clusters(a 28-kb cluster and a 7-kb cluster)have recently been identified to coordinately encode the biosynthetic machinery of DST in Streptomyces netropsis.Here we report a gene cassette,which is linked to the aforementioned smaller dst gene cluster and plays an important role in the self-resistance to DST in S.netropsis.This cassette consists of three uncharacterized genes that might be implicated in DNA replication/repair.Knockout of the cassette led to the decrease in the production of DST,while heterologous expression of part of the cassette in S.lividans made it become resistant to both DST and mitomycin C,another DNA-bmding agent.More interestingly,homologs of these three genes were found in genomes of other actinomyces that produce DNA-binding antibiotics,suggesting that a novel common mechanism in addition to pumping may enable these strains to resist the cytotoxic metabolites they produced.Lie Ma Siyao Sun Ziyu Yuan Zixin Deng Yajie Tang Yi Yu 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,1:0
4Fluorescence Properties and Chemical Composition of Fine Particles in the Background Atmosphere of North China显示文摘To understand the aerosol characteristics in a regional background environment,fine-particle(PM_(2.5),n=228)samples were collected over a one-year period at the Shangdianzi(SDZ)station,which is a Global Atmospheric Watch regional background station in North China.The chemical and optical characteristics of PM_(2.5)were analyzed,including organic carbon,elemental carbon,water-soluble organic carbon,water-soluble inorganic ions,and fluorescent components of watersoluble organic matter.The source factors of major aerosol components are apportioned,and the sources of the fluorescent chromophores are further analyzed.The major chemical components of PM_(2.5)at SDZ were NO_(3)^(-),organic matter,SO_(4)^(2-),and NH_(4)^(+).Annually,water-soluble organic carbon contributed 48%±15%to the total organic carbon.Secondary formation(52%)and fossil fuel combustion(63%)are the largest sources of water-soluble organic matter and water-insoluble organic matter,respectively.In addition,three humic-like and one protein-like matter were identified via parallel factor analysis for excitation–emission matrices.The fluorescence intensities of the components were highest in winter and lowest in summer,indicating the main impact of burning sources.This study contributes to understanding the chemical and optical characteristics of ambient aerosols in the background atmosphere.Ping LI Siyao YUE Xiaoyang YANG Di LIU Qiang ZHANG Wei HU Shengjie HOU Wanyu ZHAO Hong REN Gang LI Yuanguan GAO Junjun DENG Qiaorong XIE Yele SUN Zifa WANG Pingqing FU 2023Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2023,40,7:0
