| 1 | Magnetic characteristics and its environmental implications of core YSJD-86GC sediments from the southern South China Sea显示文摘Sediments of core YSJD-86GC(referred to as86GC)collected from the southern South China Sea were selected for environmental magnetic studies.Combined with the published chronological framework,sediment magnetic properties were revealed for the study area since the MIS3 stage.The rock magnetic results indicate that low-coercivity magnetite is the main magnetic mineral within the sediments.Also,a certain amounts of hematite are present.The King plot and Day plot,which reflect the magnetic particle size,show that fine-grained pseudo-single-domain phase magnetic particles dominate the magnetic minerals in the sediments.Comparison of magnetic parameters and geochemical indicators show that magnetic properties of core 86GC sediments reflect a terrigenous input.Simultaneously,magnetic characteristics of the studied sediment are influenced by the quantity of terrigenous sediment input,oxidation-reduction conditions of the provenance area,and the transportation environment and distance.Sea level fluctuation caused by global climate change was the main factor for variation in concentration of magnetic minerals and magnetic particle size of thestudied core sediments.Thus,variation of sediment magnetic properties in the study area can be used as an indirect indicator of sea level fluctuation. | Tingping Ouyang Chengjing Tian Zhaoyu Zhu Yan Qiu Erwin Appel Shuqing Fu | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,25: | 3 |
| 2 | Evolving Neural Network Using Variable String Genetic Algorithm for Color Infrared Aerial Image Classification显示文摘Coastal wetlands are characterized by complex patterns both in their geomorphic and ecological features. Besides field observations, it is necessary to analyze the land cover of wetlands through the color infrared (CIR) aerial photography or remote sensing image. In this paper, we designed an evolving neural network classifier using variable string genetic algorithm (VGA) for the land cover classification of CIR aerial image. With the VGA, the classifier that we designed is able to evolve automatically the appropriate number of hidden nodes for modeling the neural network topology optimally and to find a near-optimal set of connection weights globally. Then, with backpropagation algo-rithm (BP), it can find the best connection weights. The VGA-BP classifier, which is derived from hybrid algorithms mentioned above, is demonstrated on CIR images classification effectively. | 3 | Antioxidant high-conductivity copper paste for low-cost flexible printed electronics显示文摘The flexible printed electronics(e.g.,wearable devices,roll-up displays,heating circuits,radio frequency identification(RFID)tags)calls for high-conductivity and low-cost materials,particularly for copper pastes.It is still a big challenge to develop reliable copper pastes for both antioxidant and high-conductivity flexible printed films and lines.In this work,an antioxidant copper paste was achieved using copper microflakes with surface passivation by formate ions and thiols,with high conductivity of 13400 S cm^(−1)(the same order of magnitude of silver pastes,1.8-2.5×10^(4) S cm^(−1)).The universal applications of as-prepared copper paste in flexible printed electronics(e.g.,electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding films,anti-fog films,and RFID tags)via screen printing and curing at 170℃ under ambient atmosphere were demonstrated.The as-printed electronics showed high performance in flexibility,stability,and reliability.This work shows the great potential of anti-oxidation copper pastes in low-cost flexible printed electronics for commercial usage. | Shuqing Hong Chimin Liu Shuqiang Hao Wenxing Fu Jian Peng Binghui Wu Nanfeng Zheng | 2022 | npj Flexible Electronics2022,6,1: | 1 |
| 4 | Polymer Waveguide Coupled Surface Plasmon Refractive Index Sensor:A Theoretical Study显示文摘A waveguide coupled surface plasmon sensor for detection of liquid with high refractive index(RI)is designed based on polymer materials.The effects of variation of the thickness of the Au film,polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA)buffer,and waveguide layer on the sensing performance of the waveguide are comprehensively investigated by using the finite difference method.Numerical simulations show that a thinner gold film gives rise to a more sensitive structure,while the variation of the thickness of the PMMA buffer and waveguide layer has a little effect on the sensitivity.For liquid with high RI,the sensitivity of the sensor increases significantly.When RI of liquid to be measured increases from 1.45 to 1.52,the sensitivity is as high as 4518.14 nm/RIU,and a high figure of merit of 114.07 is obtained.The waveguide coupled surface plasmon RI sensor shows potential applications in the fields of environment,industry,and agriculture sensing with the merits of compact size,low cost,and high integration density. | Lanting JI Shuqing YANG Rongna SHI Yujie FU Juan SU Chi WU | 2020 | Photonic Sensors2020,10,4: | 1 |
| 5 | Bio-Inspired Microwave Modulator for High-Temperature Electromagnetic Protection,Infrared Stealth and Operating Temperature Monitoring显示文摘High-temperature electromagnetic(EM) protection materials integrated of multiple EM protection mechanisms and functions are regarded as desirable candidates for solving EM interference over a wide temperature range.In this work,a novel microwave modulator is fabricated by introducing carbonyl iron particles(CIP)/resin into channels of carbonized wood(C-wood).Innovatively,the spaced arrangement of two microwave absorbents not only achieves a synergistic enhancement of magnetic and dielectric losses,but also breaks the translational invariance of EM characteristics in the horizontal direction to obtain multiple phase discontinuities in the frequency range of 8.2-18.0 GHz achieving modulation of reflected wave radiation direction.Accordingly,CIP/C-wood microwave modulator demonstrates the maximum effective bandwidth of 5.2 GHz and the maximum EM protection efficiency over 97% with a thickness of only 1.5 mm in the temperature range 298-673 K.Besides,CIP/C-wood microwave modulator shows stable and low thermal conductivities,as well as monotonic electrical conductivity-temperature characteristics,therefore it can also achieve thermal infrared stealth and working temperature monitoring in wide temperature ranges.This work provides an inspiration for the design of high-temperature EM protection materials with multiple EM protection mechanisms and functions. | Xuan Yang Yuping Duan Shuqing Li Huifang Pang Lingxi Huang Yuanyuan Fu Tongmin Wang | 2022 | Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,2: | 1 |

| 10 | Fatigue Magnification Factors of Arc-Soft-Toe Bracket Joints显示文摘Arc-soft-toe bracket(ASTB), as a joint structure in the marine structure, is the hot spot with significant stress concentration, therefore, fatigue behavior of ASTBs is an important point of concern in their design. Since macroscopic geometric factors obviously influence the stress flaws in joints, the shapes and sizes of ASTBs should represent the stress distribution around cracks in the hot spots. In this paper, we introduce a geometric magnification factor for reflecting the macroscopic geometric effects of ASTB crack features and construct a 3D finite element model to simulate the distribution of stress intensity factor(SIF) at the crack endings. Sensitivity analyses with respect to the geometric ratio Ht/Lb, R/Lb, Lt/Lb are performed, and the relations between the geometric factor and these parameters are presented. A set of parametric equations with respect to the geometric magnification factor is obtained using a curve fitting technique. A nonlinear relationship exists between the SIF and the ratio of ASTB arm to toe length. When the ratio of ASTB arm to toe length reaches a marginal value, the SIF of crack at the ASTB toe is not influenced by ASTB geometric parameters. In addition, the arc shape of the ASTB slope edge can transform the stress flowing path, which significantly affects the SIF at the ASTB toe.
