1Polyamine Accumulation in Transgenic Tomato Enhances the Tolerance to High Temperature Stress显示文摘Polyamines play an important role in plant response to abiotic stress.S-adenosyl-l-methionine decarboxylase(SAMDC) is one of the key regulatory enzymes in the biosynthesis of polyamines.In order to better understand the effect of regulation of polyamine biosynthesis on the tolerance of high-temperature stress in tomato,SAMDC cDNA isolated from Saccharomyces cerevisiae was introduced into tomato genome by means of Agrobacterium tumefaciens through leaf disc transformation.Transgene and expression was confirmed by Southern and Northern blot analyses,respectively.Transgenic plants expressing yeast SAMDC produced 1.7-to 2.4-fold higher levels of spermidine and spermine than wild-type plants under high temperature stress,and enhanced antioxidant enzyme activity and the protection of membrane lipid peroxidation was also observed.This subsequently improved the efficiency of CO2 assimilation and protected the plants from high temperature stress,which indicated that the transgenic tomato presented an enhanced tolerance to high temperature stress(38℃) compared with wild-type plants.Our results demonstrated clearly that increasing polyamine biosynthesis in plants may be a means of creating high temperature-tolerant germplasm.Lin Cheng Yijing Zou Shuli Ding Jiajing Zhang Xiaolin Yu Jiashu Cao Gang Lu 2009Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2009,51,5:16
23D WATER-VAPOR TOMOGRAPHY WITH SHANGHAI GPS NETWORK TO IMPROVE FORECASTED MOISTURE FIELD显示文摘The vertical structure of water vapor in atmosphere is one of the initial information of numerical weather forecast model. Because of the strong variation of water vapor in atmosphere and limited spatio-temporal solutions of traditional ob- servation technique, the initial water vapor field of numerical weather forecast model can not accurately be described. At present, using GPS slant observa- tions to study water vapor profile is very popular in the world. Using slant water vapor(SWV) observa- tions from Shanghai GPS network,we diagnose the three-dimensional(3D) water vapor structure over Shanghai area firstly in China. In water vapor tomo- graphy, Gauss weighted function is used as horizon- tal constraint, the output of numerical forecast is used as apriori information, and boundary condition is also considered. For the problem without exact apriori weights for observations, estimation of variance components is introduced firstly in water vapor to- mography to determine posteriori weights. Robust estimation is chosen for reducing the effect of blun- ders on solutions. For the descending characteristic of water vapor with height increasing, non-equal weights are used along vertical direction. Compari- sons between tomography results and the profile provided by numerical model (MM5) show that the forecasted moisture fields of MM5 can be improved obviously by GPS slant water vapor. 3Facile synthesis of graphene via reduction of graphene oxide by artemisinin in ethanol显示文摘The preparation of reduced graphene oxide(RGO)by chemical reduction of graphene oxide(GO)usually involves highly toxic reducing agents which are harmful to the environment and human health.In this paper,a mediated facile and relative green approach for the preparation of RGO in ethanol using artemisinin as a reducing agent is reported for the first time.The morphology and de-oxidation efficiency of the obtained RGO were characterized by transmission electron microscope(TEM),atomic force microscope(AFM),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The results showed that artemisinin can effectively reduce GO into few-layered RGO with a high carbon to oxygen ratio(11.7).The mechanism for elimination of oxygen-containing functional groups decorated on GO nanosheets by artemisinin was proposed.The important features of relatively environmentally friendly and facile operation procedures endow this approach with great promise in the mass production of RGO and various graphene-based materials,especially for biomaterials.Dandan Hou Qinfu Liu Xianshuai Wang Ying Quan Zhichuan Qiao Li Yu Shuli Ding 2018Journal of Materiomics2018,4,3:6

5Independent temporal lobe epilepsy in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex显示文摘Tuberous sclerosis complex(TSC)is a rare disease that involves multiple organs,including the brain;approximately 80%-90%of TSC patients exhibit TSC-associated epilepsy.Independent temporal lobe epilepsy(TLE),TSC-unrelated epilepsy,is particularly rare in patients with TSC.Here,we describe three patients with TSC with independent TLEs that were confirmed by stereo-electroencephalography(EEG),postoperative pathological findings,and seizure outcome at follow-up.The patients were retrospectively enrolled at two centers;their ictal epileptiform discharge onsets were determined using electrode contacts in the hippocampus during stereo-EEG.The three patients underwent anterior temporal lobectomies and remained seizure-free at 1-5 years after surgery.Postoperative pathological examinations confirmed hippocampal sclerosis in all three patients.Furthermore,postoperative intelligence quotient improvement was evident in one patient,while the quality of life was improved in two patients at 12 months after surgery.Tinghong Liu Jing Ding Shaohui Zhang Yangshuo Wang Jinshan Xu Liu Yuan Feng Zhai Guojun Zhang Shuli Liang 2022Pediatric Investigation2022,6,1:1

8Targeting UDP-α-D-glucose 6-dehydrogenase alters the CNS tumor immune microenvironment and inhibits glioblastoma growth显示文摘Glioblastoma(GBM,WHO grade IV glioma)is the most common and lethal malignant brain tumor in aduts with a dismal prognosis.The extracellular matrix(ECM)supports GBM progression by promoting tumor cell proliferation,migration,and immune escape.Uridine diphosphate(UDP)-glucose 6-dehydrogenase(UGDH)is the rate-limiting enzyme that catalyzes the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans that are the principal component of the CNS ECM.We investigated how targeting UGDH in GBM infuence$the GBM immune microenvironment,including tumor-associated microglia/macrophages(TAMs)and T cells.TAMs are the main im-mune effector cells in GBM and can directly target tumor cells if properly activated.In co-cultures of GBM cells and human primary macrophages,UGDH knockdown in GBM cells pro-moted macrophage phagocytosis and M-like polarization.In orthotropic human GBM xeno-grafts and syngeneic mouse glioma models,targeting UGDH decreased ECM deposition,increased TAM phagocytosis marker expression,reduced M2-like TAMS and inhibited tumor growth.UGDH knockdown in GBM cells also promoted cytotoxic T cell ifltration and activa-tion in orthotopic syngeneic mouse glioma models.The potent and in-human-use small mole-cule GAG synthesis inhibitor 4-methylumbelliferone(4-MU)was found to inhibit GBM cell proliferation and migration in vitro,mimic the macrophage and T-cell responses to UGDH knockdown in vitro and in vivo and inhibit growth of orthotopic murine GBM.Our study shows that UGDH supports GBM growth through multiple mechanisms and supports the development of ECM-based therapeutic strategies to simultaneously target tumor cells and their microenvi-ronment.Daqian Zhan Fatih Yalcin Ding Ma Yi Fu Shuang Wei Bachchu Lal Yunqing Li Omar Dzaye John Laterra Mingyao Ying Hernando Lopez-Bertoni Shuli Xia 2022Genes & Diseases2022,9,3:1
9Geochemical characteristics of illite clay rocks from the Shihezi Formation in the Hanxing mining area and its sedimentary environment显示文摘We studied the geochemical characteristics of illite clay rocks and their importance from the Shihezi Formation of Late Permian in the Hanxing mining area by means of ICP-MS and sequential X-ray fluorescence spectrometry.The results show that the amount of SiO2 is between 53.37% and 61.58%(byweight) and that of Al2O3 22.40% and 31.31%(by weight).The ratio of SiO2/Al2O3 lies between 1.71and 2.75.The amount of K2O ranges from 1.11% to 2.56%(by weight).The amounts of Fe and Ti are higherthan the theoretical values in illite clay rock would indicate.The amounts of some trace elements,such asGa,As,Ba,Cu,Th and U are higher than their Clark values,while that of another 23 trace elements arefound to be close to their Clark values.The amounts of REE range from 22.59 to 570.54 lg/g,with an aver-age of 163.23 lg/g.The ratios of LREE/HREE range from 5.41 to 21.82,with an average of 8.87.These char-acteristics show that LREE are much richer in content than HREE.The REE distribution patterns of oursamples were characterized by clearly negative Ce and Eu anomalies.We analyzed the sedimentary environment of the Hanxing mining area in Late Permian by the characteristic element ratio method.Theratios of Mn/Fe range from 0 to 0.0168,which are lower than those in a marine sedimentary environment.The ratios of Sr/Ba(0.20-0.41) are less than 1.These are all indications that the sediments of the Hanxingmining area in Late Permian form largely a continental sedimentary environment.The sedimentary wateris freshwater,a conclusion reached on the basis of the ratios of Th/U(2.66-6.62) and of Ca/(Ca + Fe)(0.01-0.059);the average ratio of Fe2+/Fe3+ is 4.8.The sedimentary water condition is weakly acidicand weakly oxidative-weakly reductive,a conclusion reached on the basis of ratios of Fe2+/Fe3+(4.8)and of Ceanom(0.08).Xu Bohui Ding Shuli Wang Yu Liu Qinfu 2011Mining Science and Technology2011,21,4:0
