| 1 | New material of microfossils from the Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation in the Zhangcunping area, Yichang, Hubei Province and its zircon SHRIMP U-Pb age显示文摘The Zhangcunping area is located at the north limb of the Huangling anticline in Yichang, Hubei Prov-ince. Here, the sedimentary succession of the Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation is similar with that in the Weng'an area, Guizhou Province. A large number of new microfossils (mainly acanthoacritarchs) from the Doushantuo Formation in this area are reported in this paper. The fossil assemblage shows similarity as the phosphatized biota of the Doushantuo Formation at Weng'an, Guizhou Province and the silicified biota of the Doushantuo Formation at the Yangtze Gorges, which suggests that the Zhangcunping area is a key for correlation of the Doushantuo Formation between the Weng'an area, Guizhou Province and the Yangtze Gorges. Besides, a new zircon SHRIMP U-Pb age (614.0±7.6 Ma) is first obtained from a horizon underneath the exposed surface in the middle of the Doushantuo Forma-tion in the Zhangcunping area. This age not only provides a new datum for subdivision of the Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation, but also indicates that the age of the exposed surface in the middle of the Doushantuo Formation in the Yangtze Platform should be posterior to 614.0±7.6 Ma. | 2 | Genome-wide Analysis of MYB Gene Family in Potato Provides Insights into Tissue-specific Regulation of Anthocyanin Biosynthesis显示文摘The MYB transcription factor is one of the largest gene families in plants,playing an important role in regulating plant growth,development,response to stress,senescence,and especially the anthocyanin biosynthesis.In this study,A total of 217 MYB genes,including 901R-MYBs,124 R2R3-MYBs,and 3 R1R2R3-MYBs have been identified from the potato genome.The 1R-MYB and R2R3-MYB family members could be divided into 20 and 35 subgroups respectively.Analysis of gene structure and protein motifs revealed that members within the same subgroup presented similar exon/intron and motif organization,further supporting the results of phylogenetic analysis.Potato is an ideal plant to reveal the tissue-specific anthocyanins biosynthesis regulated by MYB,as the anthocyanins could be accumulated in different tissues,showing colorful phenotypes.Five pairs of colored and colorless tissues,stigma,petal,stem,leaf,and tuber flesh,were applied to the transcriptomic analysis.A total of 70 MYB genes were found to be differentially expressed between colored and colorless tissues,and these differentially expressed genes were suspected to regulate the biosynthesis of anthocyanin of different tissues.Co-expression analysis identified numerous potential interactive regulators of anthocyanins biosynthesis,involving 39 MYBs,24 bHLHs,2 WD-repeats,and 29 biosynthesis genes.Genome-wide association study(GWAS)of tuber flesh color revealed amajor signal at the end of Chromosome 10,which was co-localized with reported I gene(StMYB88),controlling tuber peel color.Analyses of DEGs(Differentially Expression Genes)revealed that both StMYB88 and StMYB89 were closely related to regulating anthocyanin biosynthesis of tuber flesh.This work offers a comprehensive overview of the MYB family in potato and will lay a foundation for the functional validation of these genes in the tissue-specific regulation of anthocyanin biosynthesis. | Yumei Li Jun Liang Xiangzhi Zeng Han Guo Youwei Luo Philip Kear Shouming Zhang Guangtao Zhu | 2021 | Horticultural Plant Journal2021,7,2: | 8 |

| 4 | Trehalose-6-phosphate phosphatase E modulates ABA-controlled root growth and stomatal movement in Arabidopsis显示文摘Trehalose plays important roles in plant growth and stress responses and is synthesized from trehalose-6-phosphate by trehalose-6-phosphate phosphatase(TPP).Here,we show that trehalose and abscisic acid(ABA)have synergistic effects on root growth and stomatal closure.The Arabidopsis thaliana genome contains ten genes encoding TPPs and the expression level of one,TPPE,and trehalose contents increased in response to ABA.In the pres-ence of ABA,the ABA-responsive transcription factor ABA RESPONSE ELEMENT BINDING FACTOR2(ABF2)directly binds to the TPPE promoter to activate its expression.Genetic analysis revealed that TPPE acts downstream of ABF2,which is supported by the findings that TPPE expression and trehalose content are reduced in the abf2 mutant and that a mutation in TPPE abolished the ABA-sensitive root elongation phenotype of 35S:ABF2 plants.Reactive oxygen spe-cies(ROS)accumulation in response to ABA failed to occur in tppe mutant plants,suggesting that TPPE is involved in ABA-controlled root elongation and sto-matal movement by inducing ROS accumulation.This study uncovers a new branch of the ABA signaling pathway and provides a molecular basis for the role of trehalose in plant responses to abiotic stress. | Wenjing Wang Qingbin Chen Shouming Xu Wen-Cheng Liu Xiaohong Zhu Chun-Peng Song | 2020 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020,62,10: | 6 |

| 13 | Hematological Changes in White Spot Syndrome Virus-Infected Shrimp,Fenneropenaeus chinensis(Osbeck)显示文摘The pathological changes of hemocytes in the haemolymph and hepatopancreas were examined in experimentally and naturally WSSV(white spot syndrome virus) infected Fenneropenaeus chinensis. The results showed that the pathological manifesta-tions of hemocytes were similar among moribund shrimps infected via injection,feeding and by nature. Firstly,the total hemocyte counts(THCs) in WSSV-infected shrimp were significantly lower than those in healthy shrimp. Secondly,necrotic,broken and dis-integrated cells were often observed,and a typical hematolysis was present in the haemolymph smear of WSSV-infected shrimp. Thirdly,necrosis and typical apoptosis of hemocytes were detected with TEM in the peripheral haemolymph of WSSV-infected shrimp. Hyalinocytes and semi-granulocytes with masses of WSSVs in their nuclei often appeared,whereas no granular hemocytes with WSSV were found in the hepatopancreas of moribund infected shrimps. | 16 | Effect of Atorvastatin on Serum MMP-2,MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in Rabbits with Chronic Heart Failure显示文摘Objective: To observe the effects of atorvastatin on serum matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2), matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9), and the tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1(TIMP-1) in the development of chronic heart failure. To investigate the role of atorvastatin in the therapy of chronic heart failure and determine its possible mechanism of action. Methods: Thirty Japanese Big Ear rabbits were randomly selected and divided into 3 groups: sham-operated group(SO group), heart failure control group(HC group) and heart failure atorvastatin therapy group(HA group), with 6, 12 and 12 animals in the respective groups. Volume overloading was produced in the HC group and HA group animals by creating an aortic insufficiency, induced by damaging the aortic valve with a catheter introduced through the carotid artery. After 14 days, abdominal aorta constriction was performed in order to obtain a pressure overload. Six weeks later rabbits in the HA group were administered atorvastatin 3mg. Kg-1.d-1 for 4 weeks, at which time the experiment was terminated. Arterial blood was drawn and serum levels of MMP-2, MMP-9 and TIMP-1 were measured in all groups at the same time using an ELISA method. Results: Structural and functional indicators of chronic heart failure(CHF) were seen in both the HC and HA groups, but atorvastatin significantly reduced the observed effects. The serum concentrations of MMP-2, MMP-9 and TIMP-1 were at low levels in all three groups at the start of the study, with no difference between them(P < 0.05). At the end of 6th week concentrations were significantly increased in the HC and HA groups compared with the SO group(P < 0.05), but there were no differences between the HC group and HA group(P > 0.05). The increased concentrations in HC group continued to the end of the experiment, but values in the HA group were all lower than those in the HC group by the end of the experiment(P < 0.05). Conclusion: Serum concentrations of MMP-2, MMP-9 and TIMP-1 increase significantly during the course of CHF, paralleling the pathological progress of CHF.
